I've been a Happy Vapor for 18 mts. Got the wife to go 50/50 vaping/analog. When I'm around her, I've had an analog here & there, which, I always bragged, was one of the beauties of vaping, never having a desire for an analog. The joke was that I couldn't remember the brand of cigarettes I used to buy.

Recently, my desire for analogs has overridden my desire to vape. I'm ...... off. A year & a half with zero desire for analogs, and now I'm back to half a pack every 2 days. I'm here trying to find out, If I'm vaping (high Nicotine levels), WHY THE HELL do I continue to have strong desires for analogs. In the beginning, I used to brag that when the desire to have an analog comes on, just take a few drags of an E-Cig & you'd be ok, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I don't want to go back, I quit for my 3 kids, so I wouldn't die from analog smoking! Has anyone heard of this & can anyone help? Thank you...

I have not heard of this before GrnEyedPaCop. I`ve been vaping for 20 months now and did have to fight off cigarette cravings the first few months, mostly by vaping heavily through them.

In the last 20 months I`ve had two cigarettes, both in the first few months after I switched to vaping. I don`t think they held me back in getting over cigarettes, but I am of course not sure. So, I have not had your experience and this is my opinion only.

You may have smoked one too many cigarettes lately and simply got caught up by them again. You say `my desire for analogs has overridden my desire to vape`yet you`re only smoking five analogs a day. A lot of people do that when they first start vaping and do stop smoking them after a while. It`s not the end of the world and there`s a chance that if you take it easy on yourself and give it a bit of time, the same will happen for you.

Then again, it may be that you`re having a really hard time limiting yourself to just five cigarettes per day. You said you`re vaping a high nic level, but you didn`t say how high. I believe you can get 36 mg juices, so if you`re lower than that and you`re not feeling any nicotine over-dosing symptoms now (headaches, nausea, etc.) increasing your nic level is something you could try. If you`re vaping 18 mg, you can go to 24. You can also buy two juices, say 24 and 36 of the same flavor and mixing them 50-50 will give you 30 mg. You don`t have to vape that all the time, but having it handy for times when you need it would be an easy thing to try. Some people have gone as high as 36 mg and it helped them quit.

There are also whole tobacco alkaloid (WTA) juices you can look at. The nicotine we typically use for vaping has none of the alkaloids from tobacco in it. Some people have used WTA to help them quit when they had issues otherwise. Again, you might not have to vape this all the time for it to help. Here`s a review from Scott Bonner on WTA juice. I don`t know much about WTA, but Google it and I`m sure you will find out more about it including safety issues and who sells them.

Addiction and dependence is a complicated thing. I`m no specialist in this area, but I know that seemingly strange things can happen. The important thing IMO is to relax and try what you feel might help. A few cigarettes a day are not the end of the world. You left cigarettes behind once and you can do this again! Sometimes just relaxing about it can take the stress off and help the situation too.

Best of luck with it :thumb:

Swedish Snus might be another route you want to go. Here's the thread on that: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...er-your-lip-your-nose-right-now-part-2-a.html

If you want to try WTA e-juice. The vendor I use is Aroma Ejuice Manufacturer of WTA Whole Tobacco Alkaloid Eliquid I've been very happy with their WTA e-liquids. They also have a subforum in here as well Aroma Ejuice

Best of luck.
I have to second the snus option. I transitioned for a couple of months to snus (Camel, actually) and back again pretty seamlessly. I just got bored and frustrated with atomizers and little batteries. I still smoke a cigarette from time-to-time--5-6/year tops--just for kicks, but I'm vaping again. For me, because cigarettes were so ingrained into who I am, I found chewing to be a much better option. That never became part of me, and it was easy to go back to vaping when the time was right.
Just remember, life, vaping, everything's a journey. Smoking is not objectively wrong. It's just a choice that most of us are preferring not to make. If you need to smoke right now, maybe that's okay for you at this time.. I just encourage you not to lose sight of why you stopped smoking, and keep trying to come back to vaping.
