This post is not about pushing limits or vaping at high power. It's just the story of a guy who ventured below the 1 ohm limit and survived to tell the tale.

For me it's partially a matter of practicality. As I use mesh wicks, working with thin wires is a PITA. 32 awg is masochism, 30 AWG is frustrating. 28 awg is pretty nice. But it is also in the bulky side compared to, say 32 awg. More metal to heat up. I don't want to add even more metal (wraps) just for the sake of getting a higher resistance. It would be sort of counterproductive. Adding more wire/resistance - pulling less power to heat more metal - effectively wasting power that should have been spent on heating liquids.

Various wire gauges have something of a "sweet spot" where you pull the right amount of power to heat them up in a timely manner.

So... I ended up at roughly 0.8 ohms for other reasons than simply breaking the (Ohms) law. This gives me a coil that heats up instantly, and I'm able to take my preferred short-ish 2-3 second puffs with a decent amount of vapor.
