My latest tank has top airflow, and aside just more air coming in after the coil, mixing fresh/cool air into the vape, I fail to see any reason towards flavour and anything, that top airflow is an improvement over my other tanks that don't have one.

Maybe to help cool the top section (this tank does gets wicked hot)?

Maybe to make the pull more like taking a bigger/deeper breath?

But even then, it's a puzzle to me at this point.

I can't find info about the "why" to have a top airflow and when to use it.... so I'm hoping someone can educate me.

I'm well in agreement with a couple of points already raised.

I have a Mutation X V4 dripper with bottom airflow ( two of the things actually ) and even with careful coil positioning and great care in "painting" the wicks, juice just ends up all over the place - I had it cracked before I went to Spain for the winter but have lost my touch with the thing over the last few months. Both are now in the "Futures Box" against the day when absolutely everything else is banned or simply unobtainable.

Top airflow on the other hand just seems to me to be a good way of diluting any vapour and ruining the flavour.

Each to his own however!

Top airflow in the Herackles Plus and the Gemini RTA, the air goes down to the coils and then back up,
I have an IJoy Reaper Plus that is built like that. I only use the top-airflow opened a small bit or not at all..
