It really depends on what you are doing with it. The LG 2500 mah HE2 spec sheets say it outperforms the vtc5 on battery life when staying under 10amps in a vv vw device.

Going to use it in a mod sx350, like the vtc5 but the wrappers never last pulling them out of battery holders

The high wattage (20 - 50) DNA devices only require a minimum 12 amp continuous discharge rate IMR battery. There are several options:

LG
LG18650HE2 2500mah 20A

Orbtronic hybrid
Orbtronic 18650 SX22 2000mAh 22A (re-branded Samsung 20R ?)
Orbtronic 18650 2500mAh 21A (re-branded Samsung 25R ?)
Orbtronic 18650 SX30 2100mAh 30A (re-branded Sony VTC4 ?)

Samsung hybrid
INR18650-20R 2000mah 22A
INR18650-25R 2500mAh 20A

Sony hybrid
18650VTC4 2100mAh 30A
18650VTC5 2600mAh 30A

Efest IMR/hybrid
purple 18650 2500mAh 35A* (rebranded LG18650HE2 2500mAh 20 amp*)
purple 18650 2100mAh 30A (rebranded Sony 18650VTC4)

Xtar
18650 2100 mAh 30A* (rebranded Sony 18650VTC4)

yo baditude, it says the xtar is 2100 mAh, that it's a VTC5... shouldn't it be VTC4, then? or maybe the mAh is the typo if it's supposed to say 2600.

Anywho... yeah I'm gonna go ahead and suggest the 1600 mAh or 2100 mAh purple Efest batteries, 30A. they are both rewrapped Sony's, VTC3 and VTC4 respectively. so if it's the wrapper on the Sony's you don't like, you could pick up some Sony's that have different wrapping on them. I suppose the Xtar's would work for this as well, but they don't seem to be as readily available as the 30A Efest batteries. Illumn.com has them for really cheap (the 30A efests).

AFAIK(!), Sony will stop making/distributing VTC batteries, so we all have to find a better\equivalent option, I'm not completely sure about the chemistry of the LG HE2 and Samsung 25R and anyway It's possible to reach 20A and as we know batteries aren't acting the same when using their max performance so it's better to find a 30A even if you "only" vape at 18A+

Honestly I don't have the answer right now, I found this thread by looking for the answer :)

I'm staying away of rebranded batteries because when they wouldn't be able to find the same model they'll switch to a different one and I'll never know about it (not going to unwrap all my batteries).

Right now I'm stocking VTC4(s) as much as I can :D

I've got 3 lg he2's that perform very nicely. Can't really tell the difference between them and my vtc5's. I don't super subohm so maybe that's why. .3 ohms is about the lowest I go but I mainly stick to .5. Next paycheck I'm gonna get a few Samsung 25r's and compIair them too. I use the Panasonic pf 2900mah in DNA 30 and vtr and they work flawlessly. So saying what's the best battery, it really depends on what your using them in.
