The low resistance Magnum attys are probably the best performance you are going to get from an Ego/Tornado right now. I have one and it produces massive vapor with only a 1-3 second drag, but it requires dripping/topping off after only 5-10 hits so it's a trade-off. There are times when I NEED the massive vapor and don't care about the hassle, and the Magnum delivers superbly, but it's not my go-to setup. Probably 90% of the time I'm vaping it's on a Ego/Tornado with an 808 adapter.

Testing with my Gemini and Tornado and find:
Revolver gemini mega HH atty-2.0 Ohm.
Revolver gemini stock attys -2.4 Ohm
tw tornado stock atty 2.4 Ohm.

I find the same thing re the 2.0 ohm hh atty that it does run hotter and does runs cart dry faster.

Is this with dripping only? I just ordered a few LR's for my eGo - but I use the ZFM. I don't mind refilling often, but not after only 5-10 hits.

then you might want to consider one of the 1.5Ω or 1.6Ω 510-equivalent atomizers available from Drew at NHaler.

I'm still evaluating that combo.... so I'm hesitant to say much more.

Since you're a well respected man, you really got me thinking all day (and all of the night, frankly ;-) about the supersonic rocket ship of combining the tornado with the magnum, so I popped for a few today. I'm sure I'll be tired of waiting on some sunny afternoon but once they come in they'll set me free to vape till the end of the day and longer perhaps. Now I'm wondering who'll be the next in line?

I didn't realize there were two different types of low resistance atty's out there. Are one of these the same ones as the LR magnum atty's? I could have sworn those were from Drew as well.

There are...sort of... the ones you can get individually are 1.5Ω... the 1.6Ω are so far only available in the kit with the woodimus mod..I doubt you're going to buy a whole mod at $160+ to get 2 atties that are the 1.618Ω.. when you could just buy the 1.5Ω by themselves

Gotcha. Yeah, I just started dripping tonight, and it's the real deal! Plan on ordering some LR atty's soon but I'm going to wait until next pay day. Spent far too much already out of this one &, for some reason, I have a really hard time going to a site and only ordering one thing. I feel like I'm jipping myself on shipping, LOL.

I was thinking about ordering the T-Tips but since I'll be ordering from NHaler I'll probably just go with the Drew ones. Anybody know of any difference between the two? I'm going to check some of his 4mL juices out as well, most notably the HV ones and the Octane HV ones, I'm guessing right now.

I just did a not-so-quick test where I payed particular attention. Fresh charge, 11mg/mL 555. Here's what I got (besides an overly good buzz):

Dripping, 2 drops per:
7 drags before flavor change
8 drags
7 drags
10 drags
8 drags

PTB Mod, top off, only took 2 drops between each test:
11 drags before flavor change
13 drags
11 drags
(That's as many tests as I can take...starting to get the spins.)

I don't think the filler material setup I used wicked well enough to keep up, since I used the same amount of drops between refills regardless of method. I could probably loosen the filler and add a straw, which would probably increase performance, but I've had leakage issues in the past doing it that way. Other filler materials may perform better; I haven't any other to try right now. All of these were slow 2-3 second drags. I sat the device down for 2 or so minutes after every 2-4 drags. I've never used a HV device so I can't compare these results to what I would get from a true HV, but it seems pretty similar to what I've read.

Regardless of how often I had to refill, the amount of vapor was crazy. It's definitely worth having for when you really need a nic hit...and it really isn't that much of a hassle. I could easily see myself using these attys as my go-to if cart technology improves. Until then, they're more of a treat than a meal.

The respect is largely undeserved. It's probably the avatar.. ;)

The LR atty on the TorneGo is an interesting.. if not enjoyable combination. I'm currently using one on my Super TorneGo II (true 3.7VDC) and my Super TorneGo I (~3.1V).

Of the four that I got from Drew.. one has a terrible airflow problem.. so I will probably just go ahead and pull it apart.. both to "fix" the problem and also to figure out the anatomy.

As one would expect with this style of atomizer, two things that I have noticed:

1) They are thirsty bahstahds. You really need to stay on top of liquid delivery, and if you are using carts your "standard" mods might not be enough.

2) You can (should) expect to get about 25% less usage on a per-charge basis.

P.S. Between the two of us, only one is a "Master" and an "Expert".. and it ain't me!

1 and 2 make sense. Also wondering if they might be as 'liable to burn' as a regular 510 on a 5V.

Btw, how do you 'pull them apart'? Is there a trick or easy way?

I have been vaping on a Tornado, with Blu Cigs attys' (with emptied carts, that I then modal modded, but do not actually refill after one time--to initiate some moistness in them). I then drip on the atty directly.

The carts need to have the inserts left in it (to prevent juice from coming into your mouth). After vaping the contents of a cart, pull out the factory supplied filler, and swap out for either PTB or modal, or blue foam. This is really just to have it ready in case you do want to refill it... that and the modal material doesn't tend to "burn" when dry, like the stuff that comes with the OEM cart. Once setup, you can drip directly onto the atty. 2 drops at a time is good.

The Blu attys are really quite good... they tend to not "burn" liquid (even when its about to run out), and provide consistent vape. Cleaning them can be done by "buring off" excess liquid every week or so (just be careful when doing this to not burn for too long... a few 10-15 second period where you just hold down the button on your Tornado and blow across it will do). Vapor production (especially when using Drew's HV series of eLiquid) is great with this setup!!!

All and all, this combination is great. You can get two Blu atty's (that come with empty carts... unfortunately without the inserts you'll need) for $10 with free shipping. (While you're at it, you can order one set of carts to get the inserts that will then last you forever... I recommend their Menthol, since it is tops in the Menthol category in my oppinion--among all versions: liquid / crystals / carts).

HV!

Hello,
I have only been vaping for 6 weeks but have ordered and used Joye 510 attys for my Ego and do not really find any difference between them and the Ego attys that I received from Janty....One good point,,,,510 attys are way cheaper to replace and you don't have to wait till Janty has their attys in stock...
Enjoy, PaulCincy

My eGo kits finally arrived and I'm thrilled! Definitely loving it so far. One complaint though, I ordered two kits, one for me & one for my wife, and her kit (yeah, I'm the one that opened the boxes) only came with one battery. I got them from DietSmokes. Anybody know how their customer service is?

I didn't realize Drew's HV liquids worked well with the eGo. I was going to place an order with him for some tips anyway, along with possibly some atty's (I've weened on that idea since it arrived, this thing has some kind of hit, at least matching my 5V PT with my 510), so I'm wondering which liquids Drew is famous for? I've seen he has HV and another kind of HV with less flavors available.

I told you before that I had magical powers.. although most of them are only ceremonial.... ;)

I chuck the atty up in my lathe collet.. although a 3-jaw chuck (read: power drill) would probably work just as well. Then I screw a "dummy battery" into the end and start the "wiggling". More times than not, that will break the glue bond and the innards of the atty can be pulled out. If the glue bond won't break... the judicious application of a bit of heat will usually get me over the proverbial hump.

YMMV. Performed by a professional on a closed course. Do not try this at home. No hamsters were harmed during the dissecting of the atomizer. Void where prohibited. Prohibited where void.

Thanks. I basically did the same thing in a vice ;-) More contact points would be nice though.
