Ok, let's start this one again. (actually we never insisted which is best or better, or did we?)
I'm a year into it; and have tried everything except 808, and maybe a couple obscure attys. (or those may be cartos).
I've been using my Provari since it's first run in Dec. 2011.
i don't care about TH... I love flavor and vapor.

So let's take it up here: THE BEST ATTY IS ... fill in the blank.

Details please: 1. Type and Brand / 2. Resistance / 3. PV or PV's you use it on / 4. Voltage / 6. juice pg/vg%

---------------------------------------------------------------------
901 regular DSE atty... at 2.8 Ohm it gives the most flavorful and vaporful vape at anywhere from 3.7 (true voltage) to 4.8 (as the atty wears, it goes up in resistance).
--------------------------------------------------
That's all I want to know but would welcome any comments on this subject:

Downside:
1. In my experience over the last few months they die too soon... heavy vaping just about all day long.. a week to 12 days for me; and that's pretty bad.
2. Only a couple other brands: Ikenvape (not as good draw and leak easier imo, but they may (and should) last longer) has LR, Reg and HV...
Does anyone know any other brands of 901's?

DSE seems to be the only major maker (one site said dse is sailebo).
They make LR and Reg and HV which is too high imo (4.8 Ohm) for the Vari.

3. They can be bought at better prices here and there (ValueVapor, madvapes, VaporKings 10pak)

Upside:
- as i stated above, plus: can take more drops for dripping; 4 to 6
- if you are bothered by leaks out the air hole, there is the Empire Shield made for 901's.!

The reason I like posting this thread is to bring more notice to the venerable best, but unsung (not as popular for some reason) 901 atty.

Since you like the 901's- I use Cisco LR 901's - 1.5 only for a select few juices. Some just do better on them

Cisco LR 901's where might these be found please, dspin? And can anyone suggest a good carto that will fit a 901 battery? Thanks Uke for starting this thread!! I'm following you around, and learning! LOL

hey Odinschild,
yep you get the adapter... for your 901 batt, it's a 901 to 510 adapter; screw it to the carto or 510 atty, nice and snug, then on the batt.
*note...If you ever screw an atty on the batt connector always be careful not too tight... you can ruin (or mess up) the connector side of the atty. theres a cylinder that can be pushed in too far and it won't work. but with the adapter you can screw it to the atty or carto nice and tight.
You don't really "need" the needle, but it helps to get the juice down the sides of the filler. some places sell syringe and luer lock needles for them, and some sell bottles with needle on the cap.

I think you can get Cisco at Avid Vapers ... try a couple different LR settings; there's 1.5, 1.8 or 1.9, and there's the 2.0.
For your eGo type batt, i think any would work, but will give more (1.5) or less (1.8 - 2.0) vapor and heat.

Oops! Uke! I just re-read the email you sent me, you told me about the cartos in there, if I try the Boge 510 cartos, there are adapters for that? And I will need a needle too for filling? I am getting ready re order supplies, and I think I want to make the jump to try cartos! :D

yeah, and the Canon is a smokestack too (510 fitting on a 801) but i just can't get used to the wide mouthpiece... talk about a cool vape but tons of vapor i'll give you that.
If TH isn't important, have a look at the 801s that Ikenvape carry. I love the 1.8ohm variant....tons of flavor and very resilient. I have a few that are almost 5 months old and are still going strong.

Only problem is that they sell out quick!

And can anyone suggest a good carto that will fit a 901 battery?
NEW Ikenvape 901 carto I got one of these bad boys as a freebie sampler and it was so totally awesome that I just ordered a 5 pack from Empiremods. Why fuss with adapters if you don't have to?
EDIT: oh, and I should add that I've been a total 901 .... ever since trying a friend's homemade 901 5v passthrough flashlight mod. Ever since then, I've been trying to recreate that experience as closely as possible, minus the passthrough. Since I have a 3.7 volt mod, the LR901 is my atty of choice. 1.8 ohms if possible. The ciscos and IKVs really do the trick. Both brands are great and should last 4-6 weeks in their prime.

OMG!! That looks AWESOME!!! :D Does that have the atomizer cone built into it? I am liking the Boge cartos, but it is a hassle messing around with the cone. That thing looks Badass!!! Hahaha, I can't wait to try one! Thank you ocla for sharing! Hahahahahaha, I can't wait! ( I am lovin my 901 too, I can't imagine another, at this point in the game yet! LOL)
Uke: Thanks for the tips on the cartos! Would you believe, they very night I posted that, while I was reading your reply, and getting my orders all ready to finalize, my last LR atty took a poopie, and I was DEVASTATED! hahaha! That was Thursday night, right before Fourth o July weekend, and I had to wait till TUESDAY for my shipments of cartos to arrive! It was terrible! I had to SMOKE CIGARETTES ALL WEEKEND!! And haha, I have to admit, I didn't like one minute of it! Sure, I had the two standard attys, that came with my Riva kit, but upon your suggestion, when I got my kit, I started with the LR attys, and was hopelessly spoiled! I can't stand those standard attys, lol! I have learned a VERY important lesson about stockpiling supplies BEFORE something goes bad, I will NEVER do that again! :O But now is happy, happy vape time again, we've had our cartos since Tuesday, and are LOVING them! :) Thank you so much for the guidance! I think I am learning about the voltage/ohm thing a bit too, cause I was able to determine that I didn't want the 901 Boge Cartos that Liberty Flights sold, because they were to close in ohms to my standard attys. So I did what you suggested, I found 901-510 adapters at Freedom Smoke USA, and ordered Liberty Flights Boge 510 Cartos, ( I know that's a lot of different sites, but I follow the sales a LOT!) LOL And like I said before it is happy, happy vape time again! I LOVE these things! With the exception of messing around with the cone they are a LOT easier, and do last a LOT longer! The night I got them, I filled all of them with my favorite juices, and slipped the little, ahem, "condoms" back on them, hoping that it would help them absorb, and be ready for vaping whenever I choose to vape them. Is this ok, to pre-fill them? It seems like they are doing ok, but this is perhaps a question I should have asked before doing this? LOL Also, about the LR cartos, I have seen some discussion on here, about certain cartos burning the filler, and some are worried about the health risks that may/may not be involved. I have heard too that Boge cartos have a good reputation for not burning easily, and have ALSO heard that if you keep them filled properly, it reduces this risk as well. What are all Y'all's thoughts on this burning thing? I hope that it doesn't turn out to be a major issue, cause I am LOVIN these things! Thanks again! And Take Care all! :D

If cartomizers are allowed ... I'm really, really loving my VISION Giant Clearomizer (gotvapes). I've admittedly only had these two for a day ( haha, I know that's not a long demo) but after a year of dripping with 510s I feel like I'm finally vaping correctly. I have a video in the gotvapes forum and the review forum under cartomizers of my first filling and use of it.

The flavor is 100% there. The vapor is 110% there. That video was with 50/50 but since last night I've gone through about 2ml of VaporBomb's new peach in 100 VG and ... one, it actually tastes like I'm chewing on dried apricots ... two - I can't see the screen when I exhale! Interestingly, with this juice in the VISION there's so much throat hit (possibly from the amount of vapor? It's insane - way more than meticulous attention to fluid while dripping on regular debridged 510s) that I'm trying to take *smaller* puffs. On the other two flavors of juice I've tried (both 50/50 for whatever it's worth, and these are 18-24mgNicotine/ml) the TH wasn't a problem

At 3.7 volts, the Cisco 306 LR atty + drip tip rocks.

+1 for this setup on any GLV @ 3.7v. Have left the HV vaping behind with the LR atty options. Much better, richer flavor. Getting into the dipping these days rather than dripping. It saturates the atty without wasting juice. Could be something else next month :)
