I'm totally new to this and a bit overwhelmed,as I've noticed some other newbies are, by all the various e-cigs out there.
I know there will probably be 10 different answers to this, but I'm hoping this will at least narrow it down for me.
What's the best vape out there in terms of cost-efficiency. I don't care about looks, etc. I just want the best deal for my money (I couldn't find any polls about this, surprisingly).
Spending hours reading about this stuff and just getting more undecided/lost has made me need a cig, so off I go.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

joye 510 no box kit from cignot. found this to be best quick shipping as far as liquid many vendors on the forum offer great price as well as quality liq. recomend a pcc with the 510 which insures that you will never find yourself without a charged battery. With a 100 dollar investment u could come out with a kit a pcc and about 60ml or so of juice, about 2 months supply. Havent tried any other models of e cig except the elight elite my friend got.... it sucked btw. Like the 510 and find myself blessed that somehow without any research on models i picked it when making my first e cig order, to think i was about ready to buy the mall brand:lol: averted that potential disaster thanks to being cheap.

I'm really new myself. The best prices I've found were at eastmall. Eastmall does bulk stuff, and it seems the common opinion is to stock up a bit on batteries and atomizers, plus you get them much cheaper than other places I've seen. I have a 901 and it's working out really well so far. Also, consider filling your own blank cartridges. It's really easy to do, and much cheaper than the pre-filled ones.

And, during my reasearch, it appears that there's 4 or 5 main models, and they get rebranded by whoever is selling them. a 901 is the same, regardless of where you get it from. Some places do offer a warranty depending on which model you buy.

Remember that the atomizers and batteries don't last forever. I've burned out 2 atomizers in two weeks- mostly through my own errors (a refilled cart should look like a slushy- not a pool lol...) but I've read that they last anywhere from 2 weeks to a couple of months. I'm trying to keep at least a couple spares in case I wreck one.

Another thing, you can get batteries that are either auto (they turn on when you pull a drag) or manual (you push a button to turn it on). Every person is different, but I prefer the manual because some auto models react to air and noise and can turn on randomly.

Anyway, best of luck to you! I'm sure more experienced vapers can offer better advice. But I'm new and unbiased, so I figured I'd throw my opinion in.

Thanks, I'll check them out.
I was wondering about the auto vs. manual thing. It seemed to me like auto would be ideal, but I've read that a lot of people say manual's better w/o ever seeing an explanation. Thanks for straightening that out. :)
I need to find a good FAQ sheet to explain some of these things.
You seem to be pretty knowledgeable for a noob, and a very smart consumer.
Thanks again

For bare bones starter kits, can't beat cignot, tho their juice is on the pricy side.

For cheep but quality juice hit Tasty Vapor. Ordering high strenght nic juice with 0 nic doublers makes vaping insanely cheep.
I second the motion
The best is a 5volt mod you make yourself for between $25.00 to $35.00

Someone should sticky a thread with all of this economic-minded advice compiled.
What are a 0 nic doublers?

Yup. Second (third?) the cignot 510 option. If they're out of stock try strictlyejuice.com same hardware same price (got mine from there).

Though, to be honest there are two OTHER ways to go: disposable 510 + luck = economical way to try ecigs and good value. OR. Tornado/eGo - better initial first experience but possible hazards with button sticking. In my opinion, the former carries greater risk than the latter so the expected benefit E[X] is greater with the latter.

0 nic doublers carry simply the chosen flavor so that you can increase the amount of liquid you have via mixing (lowering nic content) while keeping yummy yummy flavor stable. A very very (in my opinion) economical and uber yummy vendor is Tasty Vapor...you can get 30ml bottles of a given flavor cheap on special every Friday (and lasting 'til the next) as well as 0 nic doubler to make lots of tasty liquid.

Happy Vaping :)

What varies 3 to 5 times?
The number of times the case can recharge your battery before the case itself has to be plugged back in and charged up. Basically, the PCC is a way to charge on the go. What I prefer though, is just a regular USB charger in the car. I bought a Philips USB thing that plugs into my cigarette lighter. It's meant to charge my iphone, but works perfectly to charge my batteries (with a universal USB charger plugged into it). I can also use the Philips thing to run my passthrough.

Also, to pass along a tip someone gave me:

If you look through some of the posts about recipes, an economical approach to liquid is to get the 36mg strength in a large bottle and cut it. It does take some playing with, but I've had fun mixing up different flavors. I'm hooked on one specific flavor I buy, but when/if I can recreate it, I'll be bulking unflavored liquid in bulk and making my own.

I love playing Mad Scientist! At least that's what the hubby says I look like when I have all my supplies out,lol MFS also has some great prices on unflavored and he runs a 50% off sale quite often.

I'm also a fan. :) I had an order of LorAnn stuff come in while my sister was here visiting and we made up 6 different flavors. I'm not a huge fan of any of them, but it was really fun.

MrsJacobs, are you sure you burned out your atties? My understanding is that the danger to atties is running too dry, not too wet. Too much liquid just floods them. I drip, so I do that quite frequently. :D Highping posted his atty resurrection method, and I've got that bookmarked for future reference. I read somewhere here on EFC that if an atty still gets hot, it can likely be saved. I'm pretty sure that the atty I threw away right after I started could probably have been salvaged.

Before you order, if the vendor has a forum here check it out or go to
Electronic Cigarette Coupon Code Master List - Electronic Cigarette Forum
A lot of places that seem more expensive have discounts available

I have an automatic 801 and a manual 510. I haven't had a problem with my automatic reacting to sound but I definitely prefer the manual. My automatic cuts off if I inhale for more than 5 seconds (or 16 times in a minute.) I rarely do but sometimes I want a to take a long, shallow drag. With a manual battery you decide.

Automatic batteries have a hole where the battery meets the atomizer. It is therefore much easier to get the liquid in the battery and kill it. (I don't know why that hasn't happened to me yet -- I've never met an atomizer I couldn't flood.)

The accessories you buy should be based on how you live:
PCC - a carrying case for batteries, etc. You charge the case and it, in turn, charges a battery while you are out and about. It will charge several batteries before you have to recharge the case. If you are someone who is always out, this can be a good investment (as long as you continue to use the standard batteries that come with your PV.) If you are home a lot, it's not worth it.

Passthrough - you plug one end of your passthrough into a USB port and it acts as a battery, thereby saving wear and tear on your regular ones (which can only be recharged a finite number of times.) If you spend a lot of time in one place, it's great.

If the passthrough has a battery in the middle, the USB charges the battery and the battery runs your PV. If it doesn't, you are vaping directly from your USB port. (Look into buying an AC/USB adapter rather than using your computer -- just in case.)
