Thanks everyone for your input. I'm wondering if maybe I should just try and stick with the tank systems. I can put a tank on my Inferno and I've heard that they work better, longer and have more flavor. Their just more expensive over the long haul. I don't know if any of you know much about the new Elips system or not, but its a tank system with a whole new design thats becoming very popular. The only down side is that the batteries and parts are proprietary.

In general slim ecigs should only be using standard resistance (like 2.5 to 3 ohm) single coil atomizers and cartomizers.

I prefer the warmer end of that range near 2.5ohm. I like V4L WOW cartos though they do need a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece - they can get pretty hot sometimes. And I like the Volt and Bloog horizontal coil 2.6 ohm cartos - I especially like how easily their stuffing absorbs juice. I use a small drip tip mouthpiece on both - makes it much easier to check the stuffing to see if juice could be added and easy to remove to add juice. The drip tip also gives you a wider stream of vapor. if I couldn't get either I would try the Kanger KR808D-1 2.6ohm horizontal coil ones.

I have to respectfully disagree about the V2 cartos, which are single horizontal bottom coil. The Boge cartos are definitely vertical coil, and probably why they outperform the horizontal coil models.

I think you and me are the only people on ECF that really like the V2 cartomizers. :) I would be happy to be corrected about them. I always thought they were vertical coil, but I have not disassembled one. I do not see a wire coming through the air tube on them (as I do with the SmokTek LR one I am vaping right now). The V2 blanks I have are from about four months ago - I bought a stock of them and have not need to re-order. Anyway, the V2 blank cartomizers are some of the best in my opinion. They wick great, give a strong and smooth hit, do not easily burn, and last for 10+ refills (even with my dark, 100% VG juice).

Hey guys, I'm really disappointed with my Volt Blank Cartos, they're absolutely awful! The flavor is bad and when you inhale it feels like your sucking a milk shake through a coffee stir straw. I've heard many of you guys say over the last few days that the Ikenvape 3 ohm and the Boge 3 ohm are the best. Would you all agree that these two are the best performing cartos for my Volt 808 or is there something else out there that might be better? I'm kinda wondering if I should have even bought the Volt 808 now because the cartos perform so badly, I don't think its a battery issue. I would love to hear what you guys think!

Are your sure the issue is with the cartos themselves? Looking back, you had a few posts where you were absolutely loving the Volt, flavor and vapor with the prefilled cartos, and then you had four threads created about hating everything about the blank ones. With the mention about feeling like you're sucking through a straw and the other mention about burnt taste, there's the possibility that you're either overfilling/clogging and/or not getting a proper fill.

I wasn't much a fan of the ones V4L have and agree with Dormouse on the heat factor. Either way I'm just another person with another opinion and a limited set of time with a limited set of toys. Try, play around, see what works..

Now that I agree with. V2 somehow has really great cartos. There are a few other people on ECF who will admit to that as well. I have yet to have one die on me or get clogged. They can handle Boba's pretty well, but the Boges are better.

It seems that V2 has been upgrading the cartos over time. When I got my first order from them, the cartos all had the hard plastic caps, but an order a few weeks later had nothing but the soft rubber caps.

Haha! Boba's is the test for a cartomizer, it seems. :) The Bloog/Volt/Halo/similar cartomizers are alright with some juices, but they are terrible at Boba's in my opinion. The V2 and Boge LR both handle Boba's wonderfully. That juice is delicious, but wow, it sure can put a cartomizer through its paces!

All my V2 cartomizers (blanks) have the soft cap too, which I greatly prefer.

Yep, I can officially say after vaping all day on with the Volt Carto, that it sucks, big time(no Pun Intended)! I can't believe that they actually sell these, I mean they're bad enough to turn a person off from vaping altogether! Those Kanger Clearos do look kind of interesting.

Gee Im sorry you are not liking them, I love Volt Cartos. Good luck finding ones that work for you and let us know how you go :)

Hey NJC, thank you for your opinion and your advice, I really aprreciate it! Yes, my experience with the blank cartos and the prefilled are drastically different. I watched several how to videos on how to properly fill the cartomizers and followed the instructions to a T. I filled 8 different cartos and all of them had a hard draw, muted flavor and low vapor. In my opinion there's a massive difference between the prefilled and the blanks. It almost seems like two completely different cartomizers, which is hard to believe. Something I didn't mention is that I've already had to replace one of the batteries because it had complete meltdown and simply stopped working. This is the same battery that I was raving about the first few days. Maybe the old adage that you get what you pay for is true. After comparing Volt's price with many of the other ecig brands, I realized that they have a very low price point in comparison with V2, Volcano, SafeCig, Greensmoke, Blu, Firebrand, Stog, South Beach, Halo, Pure, Premium, and the list goes on. I don't know, I'm still new to this industry and I'm still investigating all of the different factors, but maybe the cheaper price point points to a lower quality product.

I have a volt and have been switching between volt pre-filled and some blank cartos with 50/50 ry4 i picked up at the mall. Today I received some WOW pre-filled tobacco and coffee samplers - all I can is WOW these suck. Almost seems like they are not working, getting very little vapor and have to draw for a long time to get anything out of them. Anybody else have this experience with V4L cartos and the volt?
