HATE the blue or other colors LED. I'm with you on that one. It was the one reason why I sat on the fence for so long with the eRoll (Not that YOU can see it as you vape but still lol). Most of the other minis use amber/orange but I still disagree with you that Colibri/Nano is not good. Give it some slack. It's tiny and try using the blanks. SafeCig, yes because of their quality control. Would still dump all kits for the NJOY (ops this thread may go KR808 lol) if they would wise the ____ up with their pricing!! They are still getting lots of heat on their Facebook page about it. I think we should create a petition ;-)

ps. then you have to deal with so many only offering carts in black! What is so hard about filter color or even white??? lol Or, white batteries with no fluted lines and red LEDs. Been there done that.

Ok DawnBella, I'm with you on the Colibri/Nano. After reading your response in my other thread, I dug it up from the bottom of my drawer and gave it another shot. I still think it has almost zero throat hit, but it does pull okay. I dig it for its novelty value, but something like this wont work as a true 1 to 1 cig replacement. I really don't mean to sound like I'm squaking and whining about crappy products. I just really think we are so close to getting an awesome rechargeable cigalike that works as well as the NJoy King. And I say again, I decided to become very vocal about all of this recently because I think too many vendors poll and mine this forum for product ideas and this gives them the wrong ideas, as this forum is full of tech savvy futurists who don't accurately represent all of the possible ecig converts out there in the world. Blue LEDs? Come on! Tech savvy, progressive futurists love stuff like that, but typical tobacco smoking Joe out there on the street doesn't want any part of modded huge devices with blue LEDs.

So on the one hand we have NJoy, who understands what consumers demand in an ecig. They out out a product at looks, feels and tastes almost exactly like a real cig, and they have drawn A LOT of attention. Their product is too expensive to use daily, though, and is more like an impulse buy at the local S'Leven. On the other hand we have the eRoll, a product marketed primarily to the tech savvy futurist demographic. So why won't they put a little bit more R&D into their product, make it more like the King, put am orange LED at the end and call it a day. This WOULD be successful. Right?

Yes it sure would be! I still think they dont get it though.

Why make the eroll and have only the blue light version. People who are after an eroll tend to be those that want something small light and that wont draw attention so its weird how they don't have the orange led option.

i recently discovered jetcigs, thanks to grimmgreen's review on youtube. i ordered an express kit, and they perform surprisingly well for a small battery. the cartos have a 510 connection, but they fit on blu and other cig a like batts. the ohm rating is somewhere between 2.8 and 3.2 ohms, which is amazing for such a little carto and battery. however, they seem to produce lots of vapor, and they call themselves "flavor artizians". the perique tobacco is really good, and i also kinda liked the mojito sample they sent me. they also included a 5 pack of teramisu flavored cartos, which, surprisingly (i usually vape tobacco flavors exclusively), decent. i'd recommend you check them out-cheap, rechargeable, good performance, and good flavor. very modest website at this point, but i expect they will expand their product line sometime in the near future.

Isn't it downright frustrating? Here's another thing that's frustrating about eRoll:

They came out with an excellent way to keep a cigalike charged all day by allowing us to snap the ecig fully assembled into the PCC after taking a couple of drags. It could've been more perfect, though. Why lift a lid and snap the ecig in sideways? Why not have an upright PCC with a springy lid (ala NJOY King), and why not have us simply drop the fully assembled ecig into the unit. It doesn't sound like a big difference, but when you think about how easy and fast it would be to take a couple drags and then simply drop it back into charging mode, it starts to make a lot of sense, yea?

So come on guys! Lets speak up. Lets teams up and tell these vendors what we demand. They'll have no choice but to cater to us. Where there's demand, supply will follow.

eRoll does rock, but why, why, why won't these e-cig vendors and manufacturers realize the very real and very large demand for orange LEDs and other real analog cig features? I want a cig-a-like that really fools my brain into thinking I'm smoking, not vaping.

I don't know how you could even see the LED on the eRoll when using it. I sure can't.

And honestly, my brain's not that easily fooled. I know I'm vaping, and I actually like that other people do, too. I welcome the questions (and that's probably a large part of why they use those colors -- questions are good marketing).

Yeah I suppose would be a lot easier. Because right now we have 3 steps.
1. open lid
2. push eject button
3. painfully try and remove the battery

I guess they where going for the ipod look.

BTW JP-guiness, I just sent joyetech the following email.

Hi there,

My name is X and would like to just send you an email from myeslf and many other eRoll users from the cigarette forum.

The general consensus says:

1) We would like the option of having an orange/red LED light that mimmicks a cigarette. Buyers of eRolls trend to be those that want a realistic looking ecigarette that doesn't draw too much attention, so it makes no sense to only have a blue led option.

2. We want a rechargeable version of the Njoy King please! (or much cheaper disposables than Njoy prices)

3) Perhaps for the eRoll version 2 if there is one coming, we would like a similar flip top pcc case that looks like the njoy king case.

If you could please forward this to correct person that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Awesome! I'm going to send them something similar tomorrow. If people really want what we want, maybe we can get enough people to ping JoyeTech and get them to improve there already good product/product lines.

I'm going to mention to them the whole thing about appealing to the broad, whole-world market.

You think I should start a new thread and that would help get an idea of how many people are on board with this?

Yes good idea! It certainly can't hurt.

Perhaps in the thread you could create a generic email that people can copy/paste and email to njoy, because some will be too lazy to type up their own message

If we want something in life, we have to after it, so lets do it!

Why the heck would you want the stigma of smoking and being visually confused for a smoker, when your not one?

Let alone how confusing that makes things for where you can vape. That makes no sense to me at all...very strange...

I delibrately avoid anything that looks like a ciggie, in colour, and LED, so I can vape anywhere, and so people know I am doing something healthier, that doesn't cause second hand smoke.....

Draws far far less attention than widely hated smoking, saves a bunch of confusion, and I am very happy about that, myself...

I honestly do not care one bit if the guy next to me thinks I'm smoking. I know I'm doing something healthier, and that's all that matters to me. I love cigarettes. I love the ritual--putting it up to my mouth, letting it dangle hands free while I take a drag. I love the conversations I have with people when I'm taking a smoke break. I HATE it when I go back to my office and I smell like an ash tray; when I burn holes in my jackets and car seat; when I cough and wheeze; when I realize that if I continue smoking until the age of 55, I have a 20% of dying before I turn 60. That's 1 in 5. Most smokers love ciggies and hate all the bad stuff that comes with it. Im talking about love and hate at the same time. That's ambivalence. That's addiction.

This whole industry sprang up out of nowhere and picked up momentum quickly because it offered the potential for a person to have the same smoking experience, but not all the bad stuff at comes with it.

Now, we, as humans, are a gregarious species. We like doing things together. We like doing the same things as others. These are some of the defining characteristics of what defines a culture or sub-culture. In the smoking sub-culture (lumping all smokers together), vaping a flashlight sized PV with a blue LED and a tank is a departure from the norm. You know...I'm a motorcyclist, and I ride super sport bikes. There's a huge sub-culture of sport bike riders, and, like all subcultures, there are social norms, values, mores, ideals, etc., etc. . . let's say one day I show up at a group ride with an odd-looking new motorcycle, say it has a large front tire and a very small rear tire, and the horn sounds like a doorbell and it has a steering wheel instead of handlebars (I realize how, unrealistic this sounds). Guess what would happen? I would be a friggin' weirdo and would no longer fit in my subculture of bike riders. This is the part where someone says, 'dude, who cares what other people think about you? Do your own thing, be your own person.'. Then I would respond: dude, go grab an intro to Sociology textbook. Social norms and subcultures pervade, and often overlap, all layers/classes/categories of a society, and within these subcultures, people adhere to the social norms defined by the subculture. Cops act like cops, executives like executives, frat brothers act like frat brothers, and so on and so on. We have evolved this way. It is even described in Darwin's Origin of Species. Birds of a feather flock together. Even when you analyze subcultures like the hippies or even the hipsters (I can't stand those hypocrites) you can see very defined norms, and as hypocritical as it sounds, if one does not follow suit, they're more of an outcast. Mom, Dad and your school teachers may have told you to be your own person and not worry about what other people think about you, but that's just because they couldn't explain to a young kid how fitting-in is good to an extent, but we should still be our own persons and think for ourselves.

I digress (constantly). Addressing what you said, Drael- desiring blue LEDs and non cigalike PVs may be a norm for this subculture on ECF, but it is DEFINITELY not what is desired by the larger subculture of, and the potentially even larger subculture of prospective tobacco to vaping converts. I KNOW this from both looking at the market research (lots can be found on Google), talking to EVERY smoker outside of my office building, and just looking at how well the NJOY King is doing despite it's high price and ridiculously short batt life (compare it to the Blu, which is sold along side the King at several gas stations in the Washington, DC area).

Umm? Use the blanks and fill with a nice 24mg or more and you'll get all the TH you want. The colibri/nano is not a crappy product but, we agree on most everything else ;-) What is making the NJOY KING so amazing is the liquid being used (I think it's a gel). I have contacted NJOY about he pricing concerns and they are getting hit hard on their Facebook page too. Ball is in their court. Yes, as I said before, I would toss every mini I have and use the KING if I could afford to do so. They need to offer 3 in a pack and cost about the same as a real pack of cigs. Doubtful.

Let me say I have not tried the colibri but may be purchasing one soon. Have you thought about trying the colibri with a high nic juice like the 45mg that the king uses. I bet that would add some throat hit.
