Hi all, I have been vaping for a few years now and have used only the 901 so far but I'm starting to get annoyed with the weak atomizers. I am a chain puffer just like I was a chain smoker. On the good side I have quit a 30 year 3 pack a day cigarette habit. It's been over a year and I am sure I will never pick up another cig which is awesome in itself. I initially chose the 901 cause it was the closest looking thing to my cigs. I buy juice and add to blank carts. It just seems it's hit or miss with the atomizers being weak. I have always been a deep inhaler so when they are weak I just order more but now I'm really considering trying something else just don't know what to try. I am at home most of the time so I don't have a problem with charging often. I would just like a heavy vapor, if you know what I mean. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx again, Steph

You didn't mention price range. The best I've found so far is the 3.7v box mods with low resistance attys. I just picked up a Phidia with a bottom feeder system (no more dripping) and love it. It's an all day set-up as long as you don't use more than 3ml a day. If you do, just put in another bottle.

They do have other bottom feeders in a lower price range. It's a pretty convenient and consistent set-up.

Thx for your quick reply. I will have to check that out as I've never heard of it b4. Sounds pretty good tho. Where do you get yours from? Just saw your post also bruiser. Will ck that 1 out also. Right now I'm spending about 100 - 150 a month on juice, batt, atomizers, and carts. I know initial buy will be more for kit. Thx again. Steph

If you need that cigarette feel in your hand, I'd recomend the Bloog Max Fusion.

But if you're ok with bigger, odder shapes.. the next step up would be an eGo tank (Janty Jets).. next step after than would be a mod. You should get the best performance that way. Personaly, I don't like the shape of most of them. Even my eGo i'm afraid to use in public.

Although the eGo and Riva are good "beginner" PV's, I think there are many better options for someone who "chain" vapes like yourself. I am very similar to you in how I vape. To get the consistency and throat hit you were more accustomed to from analogs, I think you would be better served to try a good 5 volt model or a variable volt (VV) model. LR atties are better than standard batteries at 3.7 volts, but they can't duplicated a good 5 volt or VV model. Plus, in general, they just don't hold up well.

For two good 5 volt models at two different price points I would suggest the following:

GLV2 (5 volt version): Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor or one of Ken's 5 volt box mods: Box Mods.

There are many other great options beyond these such as the wood box PV's. For the best in variable volt models, I would suggest either the Darwin from nhaler.com or the ProVari.

If you really want the "inhaled feel" of an analog along with much better consistency, then 5 volt or variable volt are some of the best options.

A 3 packs a day kinda smoker, I think you will run through the smaller manufactured ecigs in a heart beat.
It might work for a little while month or two...but would really recommend looking into some of the big boy toys.

I've used Prodigy's, box mods and now the Darwin in public all the time. Most people could care less, saying nothing and those who do ask me about my PV have only had positive comments. In fact, one of the more common statements I hear is they are glad I'm not still "pretending" to smoke by using one that looks like a cigarette.

A passthrough and/or a fat-battery model and Ego and Riva 510 are both 510-threaded the the most popular fat-battery models. The largest variety of cartomizers and atomizers by far are 510 threaded. The batteries are 650mah+. And these fat battery models can use both standard resistance and the hotter hard-hitting low resistance atomizers and cartomizers, as well as tank atty and tanks.

And they don't come close to the "inhaled feel", consistency or good throat hit of a 5 volt or variable volt model, especially for a heavy vaper. An eGo may be all the OP needs, but they can't compare in performance to the better devices.

OMG, hahaha I'm totally confused now. You all are great ;-) I so don't know what to get now. Been looking at the rivas and now after all your posts I realize why my jaws and face get sore from trying to draw on my 901. bahahaha
I need to order something now. It's true I'm used to this 901 hanging outta my mouth all the time. I think that's why it was so hard to quit cause I needed to hold or have something in my mouth. I'm going to look at all your links. Hopefully I can make up my mind before the end of the weekend. Thx to every 1 for all suggestions. Steph

Personally, I don't think this is where you'll need to stop but, it's where you need to go now. You don't know what you want. You don't know what kind of juice will work for you. You smoke like a chimney. Right so far?

I'll say the Riva kit but, if you can hang it out of your mouth, you can probably take a bite out of a golf ball. However, it's relatively cheap. You'll need that to get enough power that you don't need 15 batteries. Play with different juices till you get that right. Then start looking into LR atomizers or cartomizers. You probably still won't be satisfied but, you'll know what you are missing. You want throat hit and more vapor, go to 5V mods. You want to quit messing with filling all the time, look into the go-go. If you get into variable voltage right off the bat, I'm afraid you might be solving a problem you don't have and those things can be pretty expensive.

The buttons are because they aren't automatic. You push the button to take a hit. They don't shot vapor, they turn on the atomizer. Anything that is going to be heavy duty enough for you is going to have one.

There are many e-cig products out there that are a step-up from where you are vaping right now. Would you like to have a battery that last all day? Do you want enough juice at your fingertips so you don't have to be filling up something during the day? I wanted both and went with a bottom fed MOD. If you want to try one and not spend a arm and leg try this: Old Goat Mods You will have to buy a battery and charger, a atomizer and have juice. There is a forum to do some reading about this MOD at: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ods-5-volt-illuminated-bottomfeeder-sale.html
