So, I have tried Lorann oils and right now I have a stock pile of TFA flavors, but I'm not all impressed with either. I ordered a couple VA Gourmet flavors today and looking forward to testing them. They are spendy, but according to them I will only need 1 - 3% flavoring in my mixes. Can anyone confirm that?

I'm looking for some advice on killer flavoring. Any recommendations? Let me put it out there that I do not want alcohol based flavoring. I try to stay away from all forms of alcohol in my life and with those I associate with.

Also, for anyone using TFA flavors, have you experienced sometimes the mix will stay cloudy? I made some pineapple and granny smith apple a few weeks ago and it came out clear. I recently made some the same % and process and they are remaining cloudy. The pineapple is clouded than the apple. I've steeped the crap out of the pineapple in hot water and it gets clear, then I shake it and it goes back to cloudy. Help please?

Thanks for reading my post.

There isn't any one best brand. I've got an interest in experimentation, so I've been starting with fewer total flavors but at least two of each. So far (for me) Nature's Flavors has the best English Toffee and Earl Grey Tea. I like Inawera for Burley tobacco and Two Apples. I'm having a hard time finding any good basic Vanilla - they all taste like artificial vanilla, probably because they are. Flavor West is my favorite Cranberry, though I like the Nature's Flavors one almost as much. Pineapple I like Tasty Puff's Pucked Up Pineapple. And so on. I admit I haven't found a Loranns that I like yet except for Nutmeg oil, and that is only used in tiny amounts. I haven't had a chance to try much from Capellas or TFA yet, though the TFA ones I have tried are sort of in the middle of the pack.

YMMV - I don't much like sweet flavors. I've been cooking for over 50 years, and generally find that it is always worth trying different brands and variations to find out what you like best.

Almost all the vanilla extracts are made with alcohol.. which may make it taste artificial. An instructable recommends using VG as an alcohol free alternative, but I'd be more inclined to try PG. I would also use less PG and more bean.

That RY4 is some nice juice.. I bought some.. and like it. :) I like it at a much lower mg ratio though. :)

Agree, I buy 5 bottles of RY4 from Fasttech every couple months. It was my ADV forever, then I vaped Blue Moon Ice Cream. RY-4 is in my boxes in my closet to steep. Heck I just bought 150ml of Blue Moon, so that RY4 may be in there for a while :)

I don't like using alcohol based (even though I have a few)because I am a recovering alcoholic along with most my friends. We just prefer everything to not have even a hint of alcohol in it.. it's just a lifestyle choice.

Fair enough and respectable. Was a bit confused because PG is a type of alcohol but now it makes sense.
