well as far as learning I would recommend using either a rba tank and try ss mesh or auto dripping...or a rda so that you can practice learning to wrap coils...as for the mech mods...there are so many out there...I would try a few till you find the one you like, but I have found that the real ones perform quite well...you could always get a reo with the rebuildable atty and then you have a dripper/tank system that is a mech and doesn't leak.

I am also in the same situation as you now.. hahaha... From a Ego Pen Style Starter Kit a week ago, i change my tank to PT3 Mini, and am now contemplating a mech mod or vv/vw mod.. not sure which is better? The batt on my Ego Style runs low within a day, and is not enough for me.. Thinking of getting a better mod, and maybe a bigger tank like Tai Fun..

Anyone with some suggestions for mods, preferably below $40 USD?

Mech mods require that you purchase batteries and a charger. Do not short cut by buying cheap batteries. The cost of two quality 18650 batteries plus a charger will run you appx. $40 by itself.

just got a segelei mini tiger mech mod... i think the stock batteries it comes with and the charger is abit of the lower quality.. Will head to the hardware stores soon to get better ones..

from personal experience, 9/10 friends that run clones will have a Nemesis.
I am currently using the H*LL out of this little Fasttech Sentinel M16 clone that was like 10.50 SHIPPED.
Sucker toots like a champ running an 18650 VTC5 with an IGO-W .19 quad coil.

I just got my $11.42 M16 clone. Fasttech sku# 1477609.
Using a Nemesis clone rda with dual coils @ .7 ohms. Fasttech sku# 1452202.
And a sony vtc5 battery.

This setup was less than $30 for everything, including shipping!

Works fantastic! Looks good too!
Happy!

Edit: add a xtar mc1 charger from sunvapers ($5.99+ shipping) and you have a complete setup minus consumables!

Well right now I have a vision spinner and protank mini 3. Im just lookijg to get into the world of rebuildables so im researching and learning all I can learn before I buy one

If you are going to build your own coils you need a ohm meter for sure.

A decent set of tools would include tweezers/hemostats, a set of precision screwdrivers, a sharp pair of scissors and perhaps a butane pen torch.

I have a nemesis and caravela clone from FT. Personally, I like the caravela better, but I use a clone kick in my nem. The caravela clone has had some bad reviews, but I've had none of the issues with mine. It feels sturdier than the nem to me. (Solid tubes instead of "pieces") but for the money, either one is pretty nice.
