Best mech mod for 100 bucks ?

DISCLAIMER: i know that the best mod is whatever i like best and everything is subjective, i just like hearing other peoples opinions and experiences to help me make a decision.

Ok so i got an Igo-W but the 510 connection isn't long enough to work with my stingray clone. it sucks but hey now i have an excuse to buy a new mech . I just wanted to get your guys opinions on the best mech mod 100 dollars can buy. that is my spending limit for this purchase so i know I'm not going to be able to get the holy grail of mech mods but it is more than enough to get something nice. i was thinking a nemesis clone with magnet upgrade for switch but i can get that anytime for 40 bucks off fast tech so is there any mech mods that you guys like that are more around the 100 dollar price mark (give or take 10-20 bucks)? thanks for the help guys. ill let you know what i end up going with when i get paid on friday.

I've seen plenty of panzer mods that work great and cost sub $75 I got my black hawk clone (actually thinking of buying a true panzer soon) also the kamry k100/101 look and work great (for a clone)
The panzer has a screw style adjustable 510 and the kamry has a floating style 510

igo-anything and hcigar chi-yous are a really good pair. The Chi-Yous could be found for under 40 bucks, it feels nice and solid, plus the button mechanism is really user friendly.

That's really weird that an Igo-W wouldn't make a connection with the floating pin of any given Stingray clone. You should chime back in here with the manufacturer name (Infinite, Hcigar, Tobeco, etc) to give people a heads up, 'cause that's pretty disappointing. I wanna think your particular situation is unique, and you got unlucky and obtained a "dud" with the Stingray or your Igo-W. (and this does indeed happen)

Strange as it sounds, the $100 mark is a grey area for mechs. Really, it's clone price, China price (kamry/sigelei/smok mechs), or authentic price, with no clear in-between. If you're paying $100 for a clone, you're just over-paying and letting some vendor or B&M rob you with gross mark-up.

I'm honestly drawing a blank on anything else until you get to around the $130 that'll get you a Super-T simplicity 18650 or a Silver Bullet M. There are other cheaper authentic mechs around that price range, but they're 14500 or 18350 only; not something good enough to power a dual coil Igo-W.

I'd suggest just replacing with a comparable and popular cheap-o clone or China mech that has a decent reputation. Right down a list of the usual suspects (nemi/sting/panzer/atomo/etc), throw a dart at it, and it's hard to go wrong. You can have at least three of them for $100.

My own anecdotal/subjective opinion: $115 - $150 will get you anything from a blemished or used Reo, to a gorgeous custom made, one of a kind mechanical pipe. That's just my personal preference though, as I gave up phallic looking tube mods that are a pain in the balls to set down without toppling over last year for good.

The Stingray has an adjustable floating pin 510 connection. Is it not reaching the 510 connection and the battery without making battery rattle/connection? Are you using flat tops or button top batteries?

If you're looking for a new mech, try a Nemesis clone. You can get a copper Nemesis and an upgrade kit that changes the springs to magnets and has extended contacts for less than $100.

We can only guess at what makes a mod "best" to you.

Give us more details and you'll get a better answer.


There are a TON of excellent devices under $60.
Most are clones.
Most function EXACTLY like their original counterparts.

my stingray clone is from tobeco. and i know you guys are not attacking me or anything but trust me i know every in and out of this mod and at least in my case it just doesn't work with igo-w. all the other tanks and attys i have work fine on it but not the igo-w. there is no battery rattle, the RDA is screwed down as tightly as i can get it, the button is screwed in all the way but when i fire it nothing happens. my taste vtr came with that little black connector piece and i have found i can put that in between my RDA and stingray and then it will work but it looks absolutely ridiculous and ugly

Which Igo w?

I have several igo w RDAs and a Tobeco stingray.
My tobeco stingray is a nicer mod than the Infinity versions I have worked on.
Very thing fits and not a single problem.

You could just have a dud top cap or a dud Igo.
I'd guess its the Igo, but I could be wrong.
