Looking for a good mechanical mod for under $50. I'm hoping that you guys can help.

I prefer authentic but I'm not morally opposed to using a clone if it'll be a better experience.

What I'm looking for is something hard hitting with a low voltage drop. Things like aesthetics, and feel of the firing switch are secondary to me.

I like copper when possible with silver/copper connections.

I'd go above 50 by a bit if there is something significantly better in a little higher price range. In the future I can myself spending a good $250 on a mod but I can't afford that right now.

So far I'm looking at a red copper stingray v2 clone by infinite. I'm just a bit weary of Chinese quality control on these devices.

Can anyone make some educated suggestions?

I have a SXK red/copper Stingray V1. I like it and it looks beautiful, but the switch took a little work to get it working well and it's still a little wobbly. This seem to be the case with many of these. I like the look of the V1 better than the V2. The V2 doesn't look like the original.
BTW SXK is the company that makes Infinite.

Thanks for your insight and explanation. Would you recommend this mod to me if I were to only buy one in this price range? Where did you order it? Is there a performance difference between v1 and v2 or is it purely cosmetic?

I'd love to hear other suggestions guys, good to have a few options.

I have an hcigar brass stingray from vaperoyalty and it is made quite well. The threads are smooth the switch is smooth-ish (after cleaning). The switch can get sticky after a while but a quick cleaning of it fixes that. The contacts are silver plated copper, and the engravings are pretty deep, the logos line up pretty nicely with the logo on my drippers and kayfun clone without gaps and adjustment is extremely easy due to the floating center pin. It was 40 bucks I believe.

I believe that the only difference is cosmetic. I bought mine from codevape on eBay. They were one of the first to sell these. This is my first and, so far, only mech, so I don't have much to compare it to. I like it and I'm not sorry I bought it, but I might look around for a smoother switch if I had to do it again.

Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I'll probably going with the stingray x mod. Just have to decide between hcigar and infinite.

I'll be waiting a few more days before I pull the trigger though just to make sure.

I can't reply to everyone since I'm on my phone but I appreciate your help.

I don't have the stingray x but I do plan on getting the hcigar one over the infinite. From what I gathered they are pretty close to the same but some anecdotal reports claimed the switch was better on the hcigar. I can't recall if there were any other differences though, as I was looking into this a while back and going off memory.

Of the sub $50 mods I've bought, the paragon is my favorite. 18650 single copper tube with a carbon fiber wrap. It may not be real carbon fiber, I honestly can't tell but it isn't a sticker. It has a wonderful recessed/flush switch and lock ring. Floating 510 with secondary battery rattle screw. Vented tube. Purchased at 101 vape but you can find them elsewhere.

It seems you know what you want pretty specifically. Just go on Fasttech and look through their pages and pages of clones. In your budget it's nigh impossible to find an authentic with those specs.

As my personal reccomendation: for portability/ease a nemesis clone (the copper is solid) or the the Stingray X (love this thing). For power and solidness grab a FUHattan (that's my personal politics but also it's a badass mod. Love mine to death).
