You've got the concept correct. The vast majority of VV/VW regulated mods use buck boost circuitry and pulse wave modulation to create higher voltage than the fixed 3.7 volts of our high drain batteries. They accomplish this by sending extremely short pulses of energy to the heating coil many times a second. The resulting output will be the mean of what the user sets, however the wave "spikes" will be a much higher value in both voltage and amps drawn from the battery. Depending upon the frequency (Hz) of these spikes will determine how smooth the vape will be.

The devices which use lower frequency (33.3 Hz) appear to fire hotter and less smooth IMHO. Higher frequency devices are less hot and have a smoother vape.

Haha thank baditude! Was trying to figure out the best way to explain PWM and frequency but I'm so long winded it would have ended up being a 3 page electrical engineering essay- rotflmao

Talked to my local vender/vale shop; totally sold me on the provari. Yes I am now a total koolaid drinking ..... Now I just need to find it a little more affordable. 190 for the basic mod at the store? Not including batteries, charger or anything that "individualized" it.

I'm partial to my ProVari. I think it's worth every penny. But, to each their own.

In all seriousness though,(sorry Reonuts) if you do go with the Provari you will love it. I have not only dropped mine many times but have inadvertently slammed and flung it across my concrete driveway in a failed attempt to catch it as it was falling. It's not the nicest looking Provari anymore but I didn't buy it to look at it or set on a shelf. I got my first V1 in the first few months back when they first released them about 3 years ago and have used and abused them ever since with not a single problem. If I ever do, all I have to do is send it in to the doctors and they'll fix it up.

Provari = Rugged perfection

Oh.... Gotcha I'm not gonna bash anyone else's gear of that's what they like. It's all a personal taste. I love GM some people love FORD.
I just know that my MVP2 gives me a good solid hit with near DC and a provari is the only real Step up from what I like vaping performance wise. I do like the mvp2 look and feel in my hands; much better than the provari though. That said, the quality of vaping experience is worth the money and worth the change of feel to me.
