When i first got this mod i was in love with it so much that i made it my everyday mod and took it to work....big mistake, I should've gotten a cheeper mod for that.

Not terrible for knockaround use. The black held up pretty well (ok not sure how tough you were on it for the current condition). As for the back, those are replaceable so that's one way to spruce it up. Besides think of all the good temp control you had out and about at work.

Im thinking maybe taking it apart and giving it a make over....any tips on what to use as paint? Car paint? lol

You know those magic touch up tubes they sell to take out small nicks or scratches on a car's finish? It might just clean up those markings without a whole breakdown, strip, base coat, and clear coat.
