I'm sorry!!! You have to just type in and hit search and you can find info that way -- however, I didn't see how new you were, my bad, you just asked about some nice mods really early in your journey.:)

Rippspeeds -- http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...products-coming-soon.html?highlight=rippspeed
Jonboys -- http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...lier-forum/178535-jonboyusmcs-lava-tanks.html
M1A1 -- http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/notcigs/216906-m1a1-buzz-tank.html

I have to be honest, I do not know a lot about the quick changes in the tanking world, I do know the ones that take the Boge cartos or punched 808d cartos seem to be the ones people prefer (then you get into single-coil, double-coil, horizontal coil, it gets numbing!!!); a CE2 is a wholly different style with its wick setup, they seem to leak more often than the others -- and that sucks. 8-o Please don't quote me on this but if I'm not mistaken a few use the CE2 carto pulled apart -- like I said, search under 'tanks' and you will find a few!:)

That is why, although I love the GG line, there is always something new you'll just have to buy because it makes a ferrari into a maserati, as it were, and things seem to be a month or two away, its an addiction -- and I feel like an old junkie warning a young burnout to stay off the smack!!!:lol::lol: Seriously, Imeo listens to us fanboys and develops something for his line when we suggest it and it almost always rocks. He has said that the VV module will be cool and only add 19mm to the total length and be able to be used in all existing GGTSs (which is one of the cool things IMO -- you might be surprised to know I run 4 different versions of the same mod, just a little diffferent metals, etc. each time) so I am looking forward to it and another UFS. Enough fanboy ranting..........don't get me wrong, vaping is a completely individual journey, one man's nirvana is another's hell, us vets have seen stuff come and go........happy vaping, dude:thumb:

VV I think is a novelty item. GG just cost too damn much especially for the premium accessories $300+. If I run over the Provari, I could break a screen. If I ran over or even just dropped a GG, I'd be totally sad. Now with the Silver Bullet or the Omega for that matter, run that thing over, it will still work and I'll still have extra money in my pocket....... to buy another Silver Bullet. Maybe even a different color..... like RED

I've thought of getting a GGTS for a while- a friend has one, and it IS good. Really solid, well made.

But the problem with calling it the "best" mechanical mod is...we're all different. The button on the SS GGTS just feels...to light for my taste, too small, too flimsy-feeling. (It ISN'T flimsy, and won't break. But the feel, to me, is not so solid.) and the PV is big and heavy. Some may like the look, which says "luxury." But to me it looks a bit like some sort of antique nautical device, maybe a hundred year old barometer...pretty, but not my style to own/carry around.

There are a LOT of mods out there, and no one size fits all best one.

Best,
Ande

IMO I got what I paid for and I use my GGs, not treat them kid gloves -- I liked my SB but it is no match. :) The 'premium accessories' go up in price because they are that good, the law of supply and demand is a killer sometimes.......

I think its all individual tastes tbh, its hard not be a fanboy sometimes as all of us vets know when we have settled into our comfort zone. I liked the lighter ones, too, but the stealth mode is really nice. light, and easy to conceal.......:thumb:

I have to disagree. I used an Omega (at 6v) for 8 months and it doesn't compare to my VV Buzz Pro. The Buzz gives me a consistent vape with no decrease in performance when the batteries fade. I get about triple the battery life. I can use any ohm atty or carto I want with a quick voltage adjustment. I paid $140 for an Omega (silver vein) and batts. I paid $150 for a Buzz Pro and batts.

Buzz pro is on my want list. :)

BUT...for the next mod...I'm hesitant.

The point of "all-mechanical" is that it doesnt' need complicated maintenance. (Read: Maintenance I cannot do.)

If you read the notcigs forum, there are SO many references to how good the guy is about dealing with maintenance issues, any problems that arise...sounds like GREAT customer service.

But I live overseas. Shipping is a ......

And while I currently live in a fairly developed part of "overseas," which has a reliable postal system, I haven't always, and won't always.

I need something that will never need to be sent in for repairs. Never. Never.

That's part of the appeal of mechanical.

Best,
Ande

PS- And I KNOW. The GGTS does fit what I'm looking for. Am I being picky when I say I just don't like them too much?

When I originally started this post as a newb I wasn't sure if I would get good information. I was provided with great info and ended up buying the SB and love it. The only problem was it was too big to carry with me when I was out and about.
Like you, I wanted something reliable that would not require maintenance or repairs. After a great deal of research I arrived at the SuperT site. I ended up buying the P+18350. It has a lifetime transferable warranty, lifetime refinishing (pay $5.00 for shipping). All of the reviews were A+++
I have been using if for a couple of weeks now and am still impressed with it. Aside from being top quality, it uses rhodium plating for the contacts which eliminates the need for "cleaning" the contacts. It hits first time every time!
While it would meet your requirements the price is higher than the SB.

That one is on my list- probably more like a P+18500 or 18650 (When it comes out.)

I'd like some input from precise owners on that- there's always some variation in battery dimensions between different versions of the "same" battery. Unfortunate but true.

Where I live, I probably won't be able to buy the same brands that superT recommends very easily- how tight are the specs on these things? Would a few mm difference in battery size in any direction lead to a battery not fitting?

Ande

No problem, my man!!!:thumb: Also, if I was from where you live I would rather never worry about maintenance either!!!

Once again, personal rpreference - -I hate bottom buttons myself......plus somehwat locked into certain batts which you noted.....

Don't get me wrong, the Omega is a great PV but after trying VV there's just no going back. They now make an Alpha which is a smaller version of the Omega. The Omega is smaller than the SB and the BB is a smaller version of the SB.

Yeah there is -- I did!!! :) And to muck this up a little more, Evolv is coming in with a drop in Variable Wattage thingy for all PVs....:)

I guess we got off the reservation on this one. The topic was best value between 3 mods. I kicked it up by bringing up the vv issue. To clarify, between the three og mods stated in the topic the word value is in there. Now the SB is the cheapest of the 3. It is a tried and true product. So the best value of the 3 would be the SB. Also should be noted that in the classifieds it will go faster than other said mods. So if you need the cash right away it is easier to part with an SB than any other. It also keeps it's value if it is in good condition.

In terms of value, I'm gonna agree that the SB is a good price for what's reputedly a great PP.

The GGTS is reputedly a wonderful PV, but you pay for it.

The Don is in the middle- not as cheap as the SB, but pretty close.

Not as luxurious or flexible as the GGTS, but close.

I'm gonna say the best value of the three is likely the one in the middle...

You may want to check the SuperT thread for the dimension tolerances. I know the battery height (diameter is usually the same for each model) would be the question. The tolerance for the diameter is .002, if the height tolerance is that tight then I would say that you may have to use the recommended battery. From what I have seen the AW IMR batteries seem to be recommended for many of the 3.7V mods. Shouldn't be a problem getting them.
