Great little inexpensive passthrough but it is 5v and be sure to tape up the end so that it doesn't short out. This passthrough has voltage protection so it shouldn't harm your computer.

You should NOT use this on your computer since it draws to much power and can mess up your computer internally. Get a 2 amp (2000 mah) 5V wall adapter:
As for your other question. She meant to tape the end of the passthrough where the wire comes out of it. Tugging motions while in use can cause the wire to pop out a little. Thus shorting out your passhthrough and rendering it useless.

I just looked for the cheapest one I could find. You should get a manual one though 'cuz they hit a little harder. I got mine at Vapors ETC. two months ago and it's working fine. I plugged it into my pc's USB port for the first two weeks, until I heard that they have the potential to harm your pc. That's when I bought a 5v wall adapter to use with it.
I don't use passthroughs anymore, had two different ones kill the USB ports on the front of my PC. Using a USB power device plugged into the wall has never appealed to me, that means that house current just got a lot closer.
I used passthroughs for about a year pretty solid. Never had an issue (other than a few cheapo China passthroughs that liked to run all by themselves, LOL). Always good practice to unplug them when you aren't vaping them too...
BD - At home I always put the usb plug into a good protected strip, not directly into a wall. Wall plugs for passthroughs is the way to go. Why risk a usb port on a computer?

I got that PT from the link posted at electronicstix (.com) and it didn't last two days of light use. I had it plugged into a 2amp wall connector as instructed. The PT was very cheaply made. The box has warnings that it could start a fire, not to leave it plugged in and there were no instructions in the box. I got an Ego PT with an inline battery and it works as advertised with no problems. With an inline battery it also functions as a regular PV when unplugged.
