    Anything under 30 bucks.
It really doesn't matter because if they like vaping they will get something better in a month anyway. If they don't like vaping they haven't spent a Kings ransom just to find out that they don't like it.

Actually, I made up a couple of 2xAA box mods for "loaners" for people to try. Costs about 5 bucks to make one.

    Hey guys,

I've experimented with a few different products, and I find that an eRoll from Joyetech is an awesome device for beginner - it offers simplicity of charging on the go, self-refilling (as opposed to the even-more-simple cartomisers) and easy parts replacement. That's my opinion on what would be great for a first-time vaper, especially for someone who's quitting smoking and needs the convenience.

What would you recommend to someone who wanted to try vaping as an alternative to smoking and had no experience? Let's say it's your mother, brother, friend, and that you won't be able to guide them through the process.

    Hi Jeff,

Welcome to ECF from another aussie! Glad you joined, there aren't enough of us on here! :vapor:

Mate you can't go wrong with Stardust style clearomisers CE4's etc and Ego stick batteries for a beginner.

Cheap and easy to use then later on move onto mod batteries and RBA's (rebuildable atomisers)

But for now just vape on and enjoy being off the analogues! :rickroll:

Have a good public holiday next Monday, WA had ours today :)

The only way i could get my mother(58years old) was with a smoktech winder and an evod. I suppose a protank would have been the same. Imho it needs to be something as small as possible and as hassle free as possible to get certain people to even try vaping.

Very true. I would not have started with anything bigger than cig size. Others are ok with Ego or bigger, but I have talked to people who just don't want anything bigger than cig size for starters.

IHMO, the VOLT from Smokeless Image. There are so many models out there, its difficult to know, but I am switching from a "nini nova" using twist batteries, to the simple VOLT. The reasons are many, but the major reason is the SIZE of the rig. I find it difficult to carry the larger style Ecigs around. The VOLT fits nice in my shirt pocket and seems to vape as good as the other more "advanced" looking Ecigs.

Depending on the type of smoker, heavy, light, 5 years or 30, the initial setup can be important to convince the person that, hey I can do this instead of smoking. As a heavy smoker, what did that for me was a Madvapes Variable voltage box mod, a couple of IMR 14500s, standard boge cartos and a 24-36 mg juice. Not pretty, but simple, cheap , adjustable, compact, all day, and most important, powerful enough to deliver the all important throat hit you need when first quitting smoking. Later move on to tanks.

Hmm, interesting. So for this set-up I'd need the Vision Spinner battery, a Kanger T3 tank (the others are spares?), and going forward I would need replacement coils for the tanks? These ones?: NEW Kanger T3s Bottom Coil Replacement Coil - 2.2ohm [gv-KangerT3sReplacementCoil-2.2] - $1.75 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Well now that I have bought (and sold most of) almost all of the Sigelei mechanical mods that were released, I must say the Sigelei #8 is the best performer out of the box. The Sigelei #8 was my first of the 6 or 7 I have owned and required the least amount of modifications to it. It is definitely the one I would recommend as a first to others, and here is a very informative Sigelei article that may be of interest to new and experienced alike.
