Best way to keep from burnt taste even with 3mg

So I just discovered some awesome dessert flavors. I stayed away from them before because they were too mild tasting for the set-up I'd been using, which was just a tesla spider and smok T-dux 2.0 bdc. Anyway i found one i really like, but even as low as 3mg with a new, well primed wick, i still get a really burnt sour taste very quickly. I actually had one coil commit suicide... When i opened it up the coil had literally exploded into two charred disfigured pieces. I'm guessing the slots on the coil was too small to allow the thicker juice to fully saturate. I've considered using a cartomizer because I've read that they produce good flavor, and right now I'm using a sub tank nano but still not crazy about the vapor production. I have a Cloupor mini box type mod on the way to replace my vv tesla, but I'm wondering what kind of atomizer i should use to get a really potent, non burnt flavor out of the milder dessert /fruity juices I've been getting into lately. I've never used rebuildables, is it even possible to put one on a battery with a 510 or ego thread? The thing i don't like about sub ohms is the vapor is too warm. I want a setup that produces lots of cool, good tasting vapor. Help! I'm a novice in need of assistance!

Not sure I've ever seen a rebuildable with eGo threading. Most use 510 threads

Do you know what the PG/VG ratio of the new juice you've found is? The burning taste you're getting is likely what is referred to as a "dry hit" that happens when the wicks aren't bringing juice to the coil fast enough, and you're actually burning wick material. It's pretty nasty, and once it happens the coil is pretty much a goner. Hard to get that flavor to go away! The nicotine level of the juice is a non factor for the purposes of your issue.

For starters, I would recommend using thinner juices with those types of coils (and even cartomizers). Often the hole provided for wicking is just not big enough for thick higher VG juices. Also, the wicking material just isn't that absorbent, certainly not to the extent of modern coil heads using the Japanese Organic Cotton. With the Subtank heads, you can pretty much wick 100% VG juice all day long as long as you prime the coil right.

When you first try out a new juice, run your variable watts/voltage down to the minimum and gradually work your way up until you find the vape you're looking for. If you start too high and burn your wick right away, you have to start all over again with a new coil.

As you're vaping it, try to be aware of the flavor on every pull, especially if you think your wick will have a hard time keeping up with the coil. You may like to vape at a certain voltage or wattage, but you're burning off too much juice before the wick can replenish it. Perhaps try to slow your vaping down a bit, rather than chain vaping?

Hopefully that helps a little, I know I didn't address all your concerns, but I'm pretty tired. If nobody else has responded by morning I'll continue :) I'm sure you'll have a page or two of answers by then though!

The tank is a smok t-dux 2.0
I've never met anyone else who used this tank, but the people I've introduced to it absolutely love it. I use a 2.1 ohm dual coil in it, anything lower gets burnt taste. The tank is similar to the Kangertech t3-d bdc, i think it's better because it smoother. Better than the aspire bdc by far. My battery goes from 3v-6v and i pretty much always keep it at three. What's weird is it works perfectly with my menthol juices, it's just the unicorn milk that it's not working with. So i switched to the kangertech sub nano tank i had laying around just for this flavor.

If you're using a Subtank Nano, that has a .5 Ohm head, unless you switched it out with the 1.2 Ohm head.

Do you know which head you're using? The .5 or the 1.2?

If the Unicorn Milk is pretty thick, that Smok tank you were using likely just isn't keeping up with the juice. The Subtank head shouldn't have an issue with it.

You shouldn't need to use the subtank any more than 4 volts, even with the 1.2 Ohm head. Not sure that Spider has the ability to fire it that high though. You'll get much better results with the Cloupor that's on the way.

I haven't found anything with a lower quality vapor than a Nautilus, it basicly just sprays, it doesn't really turn the juice to a vapor.

The T3'D is what I've been using now for a while. They do work good.

Back to the burnt taste, I'd suspect the juice is to thick, as mentioned above.

You should try the single coil in the heads for that, it might help. With thicker juices you need to keep in mind they don't wick as fast, so you can't chain vape them on that sort of set up. Try after ever couple of hits take a dry pull (take a hit without pushing the button) this helps force juice into the coil area.
