I have two and a half layers :) The bottom layer is deep orange. The large middle layer is shadowy silt blending into a top bit which is close to the original greeny olive oil colour. It could easily be a lava lamp! :D

This is great - seems the alkaloids switched well first mix. Still, I'd repeat (shake up again) once or twice more. Worth it as this will only take 10 minutes.

If it wasn't for the silt floating in the oil layer, I think it would all be light. The clear top quarter is light and I think that shows what colour all the rest of the oil is (if it wasn't obscured by the silt suspended in it).

So: bottom quarter = dark orange. Top three quarters = pale yellowy green.

Yes, exactly same as my experience.

For reference, what acid did you use and how many drops per ml ?

I used the vitamin C powder again. I didn't measure it... I just stopped short of saturating the mineral water.

Yes, vitamin C powder seems to be string enough. It does lose acidity over time (year or so). By chance I was finishing off an old container of vit C tablets (no use for WTA as full of fillers) and because unbuffered are quite sharp normally; these old ones had no sharp taste at all ! My powder is quite old too and has yellowed somewhat. Vit C does oxidise quite easily, that's why it's an antioxidant - sacrificial oxidation with a harmless oxidation product.

How is the vape ?

Wouldn't be tar. Shouldn't be tannins. Should be just alkaloids. I did ask tceight to try this veg oil method to see if he has reservations in this regard. As far as i can tell, it is just alkaloids; it looks right - has the glow seen in high nic liquids. And seems to be far more efficaceous (so I hope it is also pure).

I feel a lot happier using the veg oil. For a start it's easier to find and it seems to work well in the process. I did forget to heat up the olive oil before adding it to the mix... but then I warmed up the whole mix afterwards. I think the olive oil is slightly thicker than the mineral oil - and that probably helped with the pressing.

What percentage mix WTA water / VG do you suggest for this? Bearing in mind that it is made from snuff.

I dont think of it as a ratio. I add the alkaline water till the tobacco is all wetted then the oil to the extent needed. The oil is probably about twice the volume of the water - rough guess.

Btw, extra virgin oil ? Where did you get the snuff - online? Abroad ? Do they have it in Tesco ?

I meant the percentage of the orange water to the VG for the vaping trial.

Yep - my local Tesco has stacks of extra virgin these days.
