I got my order in today from Bull City Vaper, happy with everything, especially the outstanding shipping speed.

My only problem is that i bought Vaper's Tek Nic through them at a 100MG Concentration. As soon as i opened it i could smell it. It has the "peppery" smell people talk about.

As per recommendations here i mixed up some juice, simple 70/30 VG/PG @ 12mg/ml nic. It tastes terrible, all i can taste is the nicotine. So i mixed up the same thing with 5% TFA Rainbow Drops to see if that helps. It's better but i can still clearly taste the nicotine. I dislike the taste to say the least.

So my question, finally, is, is there a better nicotine? From what i undersrood Vaper's Tek nicotine was by far the best there was and shouldn't have any flavor :/ maybe i did something wrong?

Yeah, that was a long shot anyway, but just an outside possibility to rule out. Regarding what is "better" or "best," that is a tough one, since people's tastes vary. I have not yet tried VT nic, so I have no basisi for comparison, but in my limited experience, Nude Nicotine is pretty clean tasting (to me), or at least was when I bought some from them a few months ago. I do know several regulars here rave about VT nic, and I get the impression VT is very concerned about their reputation regarding quality, so you might contact them and see if they want you to send them a sample so they can check it out, or maybe they can send you a small sample that you can compare to what you have. Just my thoughts regarding the question, and not really advice, per se.

^^^ i was actually really close to ordering from nude but VT seems to be the favoriteof so many here. Nude seems to be liked, just not by as many

I'll get on their site and pay the $2.00 for a sample size of Nude Nicotine. I won't be ordering a $21.00 bottle of nicotine i've never tried before anytike soon again though lol.

I may contact VT as well. Perhaps i just got a bad batch.

Well if all you can afford is crap, and it keeps you from smoking, maybe crap is good. Also, taste is subjective, and some people like a bit of "dirty" taste to their nic, since it is more like smoking. On the other hand, if you have gotten something that seems just plain disgusting to you, you will of course want to do better than that. I would contact Bull City and VT and tell them what you think, for I believe both do offer good customer service, based on what I have seen here.

 IMO, the issue is that you're listening to a bunch of opinions on here instead of making your OWN decision regarding what tastes good and what doesn't.

Why not buy small amounts of nicotine base from as many vendors as you can, and make your own decision regarding what works best for YOU? :2c:

I took my time and did the above to find my go-to nic. What brand do I like? Why would it matter? ;)

Johnny, I agree with you 100%, but it is a tough sell for someone that is just starting out. They want to make some good juice ASAP, and often for as little cost as possible. So they fish for a recommendation for a good place to start. IMO, any of the vendors here are fine for most purposes, and the differences are usually not that significant. And at the same time, anyone can have a good or a bad day, and nic from one vendor may be great most of the time, but every once in a while they send out something that sucks. That is why I say, for example, that I got some from vendor ABC at some specific time, and it tasted OK to me. As with everything about DIY, ymmv. But I can't blame noobs for wanting advice about where to start, because I remember what it felt like to place my first order.

But, again, you are 100% correct, and for someone that is very picky, that is the only (almost) sure road to satisfaction.

[edit] And if you get something that does not meet your standards, I think letting the supplier know about it is useful, as opposed to just moving on. They may or may not try to please you, but you have done your part to make life better for all of us.

What other nicotine have you tried and how do they compare to what you received from Bull City?

Since Bull City sells more than one brand of nicotine, could there be a possible transactional error?

It came in a Vaper's Tek bottle.

BUT since i started this thread Drew from Bull City Vapor actually contacted me via email about the issue and will be sending out a replacement. He asked for some info which I provided and said there should defjnitely be no odor from it.

Perhaps it was just a bad batch. I offered to send it back as well, I'm really not looking for a handout or free stuff, just want to save some money vaping my own juice and enjoying it!

I'll definitely be using Bull City again though. This is the best customer service I've had in a long time. I didn't even contact them about it yet, he said he saw the thread and got a hold of me right away.

I understand what you're saying, but at the same time I find it HIGHLY fiscally irresponsible to just start buying small amounts of nic from any vendor. I would consider it a waste of money to just start buying things without using the wealth of knowledge and experience that is ECF first.

There are some nics that are well known for their smell and some prefer them for that. There are also some nics that are well known for being tasteless and odorless, those are what I'm after, so i started at the top of the list.

I'll be making my own decision about what I actually like in the end. But to just start buying everything to find it without doing any research is foolish. If VT ends up not being what I like I'll be doing more searches on the forum to see what people prefer as a nic without taste and smell. If that one doesn't work, more searching will be done.

But telling people to go out and just start buying everything without some sort of system by which to do so other than process of elimination is irresponsible and a disservice to the people you are giving this advice to. Everyone will form their own opinions and like what they like, the boards aren't going to change that, but it will give them an idea of where to start and with any luck it will also save them time and money. Time and money is what everyone is here for. Either you're trying to quit smoking to save money, or to add time to your life.

I have close to a liter of nude nic in my freezer and it's good. I eventually tried vt because of all the positive reviews from respected members here on the forum. I was looking for a clean tasting nic and even though nn falls in the category of clean tasting I had to still give vt a try. There is not a doubt in my mind that vt is better. As a matter fact, I have been vaping the same flavor for a couple of weeks using vt nic and today I decided to try the flavoring using nn. It's not even close. You may have gotten a bad batch or some other mix up may have occurred. Save your money and stick with the vt.

I think your approch was sound, doing the research then picking your selection by best informed decision. Unfortunitly if you ask 100 people which NIC is the best you get 100 different answers.

Your approch now to buy small bottles from different venders and let your taste buds advise you is the way to go. But there is a consistancy issue which is very prevalent in this industry. Meaning what you buy today may not be the same buying it again later down the road. Very fustrating.

So my advice is when you find something you like stock up on it right away and freeze it.

I have not tried VT nic myself yet. I had used WL nic for a period of time and changed to NN to try a different brand. I myself am very happy with the quality of the NN nicotine. It is clear and very clean (Better than WL anyway). I have read so much on many forums how much better VT nicotine is than anything else. Maybe when I use up the 500ml of NN I have in the freezer I will have to try VT's product. I am happy with what I have now and don't want to get a product yet that could possibly ruin the good experience I have now with using NN. Everyone has an opinion and that's great but for now I will just use what I have and enjoy the heck out of it.
