PT2 tips:

1. Check to make sure all the seals are in place
2. Replace the 2 wicks with cotton
3. Remove the "cup" seal on the stem and replace it upside down on the stem
4. Use Kangertech replacement coils
5. Prime your head with a few drops of juice before you vape or take a few sucks off it without power to pull the juice into the wick
6. Switching the tank from one power source to another throughout the day can loosen the coils, make sure their seated snug on the base.

I'm running 2.2 ohm coils at 6.5-7 watts or 3.3-3.6 volts with an iTaste 134 and MVP. I also dry burn my coils to clean. Waiting for my ProVari to see what that'll do. With all the toppers I've had, the PT2 is doing it for me.

I vaped Protank for a long time and went to the PT2 when It came out. I bought a T3S one day in the local B&M and seem to gravitate toward it more than the Protanks. I think the low juice gurgle is what turns me off more than anything. The T3S seems to produce more flavor and sufficient vapor.

SmokTech Mega cartos Are my favorite vape, but I don't care for the 30 minute top off ritual.

I tend to like the T3S as well. In fact, I'm using it right now :)

Vape on!!

I'm currently an avid iclear30-s user, but I also still give the Protank2 a big thumbs up in terms of taste, vapor production and general ease of use. Rebuild the coil and use cotton, and your experience will drastically improve on a tank that is already considered as one of the best available.

I first bought the PTII a few months back, after a period of having given up on vaping, and I read hundreds of reviews, and thought to myself "Okay, this is probably a device where there's going to be one bad head out of every 5, I can live with that." But I went through 11 heads and all of them tasted burnt no matter how much I tried manipulating and cleaning the heads without actually rebuilding. I was doing absolutely nothing wrong, my techniques are tried and tested. But this tank was simply bad stuff.

Sorry, but your "tried and tested" techniques result in everything you sample either tasting burnt or salty. Having all 11 coils tasting burnt dictates that the error obviously lies with an absolutely inept user, unless you are implying that everyone using a Protank2 has no sense of taste.

For the sake of new users reading your posts, I strongly recommend you modify your signature to say "burning clearomizers for a total of 4 years - aka, don't give me any advice"

Sometimes I prefer the Protank over the T3 and T3s for various reasons. One is tank capacity. A T3 is harder to fill from a bottle until you get the hang of it and the Protank is a breeze with the wider neck. Flavor varies slightly from one to the other. Some juices just taste better in the T3 design and others are better in the Protank. Go figure. The heads aren't that much different.

I find that juices with an aftertaste sometimes taste fine in an atomizer that slightly mutes flavor. Sometimes bland juices taste better in the T3 that enhances flavor, IMO.

Have you considered the Hypertank? If you like the way it looks, it also uses the same coil as the PT's, but has a 5ml capacity. Very easy to fill simply b/c its so big ;)

I totally agree with your findings regarding various juices tasting better/muted depending on the atomizer. I tend to use the very bold flavors in the Protanks as it seems to counter that to the right flavor for me, and the blander juices go into my iclear's as I find those clearomizer bring out flavors very well.

Hmmmmm. I have a PT3, PT2Mini, and a Davide. Of the three, I like the Davide best, it has an 'airier' draw, and provides a nicer flavor with the same re-wicked heads I use in my ProTanks.

I like the Protank3 the least, and by 'least', I mean 'not at all'. They were a failed attempt at dual coiling with no R&D to test their 'dual stacked coils' concept. I am glad the device takes the original ProTank heads, or I'd be upset.

And right in the middle is the ProTank2 Mini. It breathes well, gives off a nice vape ofrom all of my devices, even the eGo batteries like it. With the small tank, I use it mainly to try new flavors. I commit to one MiniTank before giving a true thumbs up or thumbs down.

The irony is that I picked the Davide up on Black Friday for $10 as a back up, or to gift to someone who might want to start vaping. It was cheap and came in a nice box. No way would I give it away, they can have my PT3 and I will show them how to replace wicks with cotton ;)

I really enjoy the Kanger bottom coil line. All the protanks and Evods for some juices when on the go. I started with Iclear 16 and did not care for them. I bought an MVP 2 that came with a Iclear 30, I filled it up and it gurgled then flooded right out of the box. I washed it out and checked all the connections filled up again. Gurgled and flooded again, I rescued my juice and threw it away.

Disclaimer: I may have gotten a bad one, who knows, I like bottom coil tanks better anyways. :)

The Protank 2 is my favorite for carry. The short tank with the nicely rounded shape fits in my jeans pocket. The Evod/T3 style with the longer tank sticks out of my pocket about an inch or so on a Provari, more with the Sigelei Zmax and an 18650.

I'm open to suggestions for anything that's short on length and big on flavor with the capacity of the PT. Links are welcome so that I can check it out. There's always a couple of tanks named here and there that I haven't tried.
