Better than protanks?

Hi all! So I'm using protanks and miniprotanks with my MVP2 and generally I love them. Recently, though, I got some juices that taste great when I'm dripping and taste like nothing at all in my mini protanks. I've tried replacing the coil units, but I'm out of ideas. Is there a better model of tank for getting better flavor or should I just accept that dripping is always going to provide better flavor?

Thanks for your help!

Maggie :)

Dripping is generally better than even my Protanks with rebuilt heads. I think it's because of airflow. If you really want to invest in the best tank out there, IMO, get a Kayfun. My Protanks have fallen to the wayside since acquiring these RTAs. Yes, they are pricey, but save up and they are well worth the investment. Happy vaping to you! :D

Hey maggie

Rebuilding Kanger coils isn't hard, but your success will depend on your skills at dealing with tiny bits. A good "beginning to end" post about how to rebuild a Kanger coil is here. => http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/396220-kanger-protank-rebuild-33.html#post9844874

You can get a better experience rebuilding the coils to your on likes, but the technology will always have it's limits.

If you really like the dripping experience you may want to look into liquid feed PV's. It's like perpetual dripping with no hassles. :)

You will know its wicking optimally when you see bubbles rising into the tank every 2-4 vapes. The trick is getting that consistent flow while not going too far and causing flooding. Sometimes on the flavor wicks you can work on strand at a time till you get good bubbles, the cup seal can be flipped too, I find that it's better flipped. Start there and then start pulling strands.. Or just go with cotton over wicks, I personally never used stock wick& coil I always rebuilt with micros.

Have you checked out how to remove "flavour wicks" on your protank heads? pulling out one or both of those can really change the experience.

I actually used to take out the flavor wicks and add a thin layer of organic cotton instead. Try it, its quite a impressive experience lol.

I now rebuild my gf's Protank with organic cotton only, and a small thin layer on cotton of the coil as a "flavor wick".

I recently got bored and made a nano dragon coil for my Protank... lmao the trick is to build the coil vertical instead of horizontal and leave room for air to get through. Its quite weird but I love to tinker.

Also look into drilling the small holes in the base of your Protank. BE SUPER CAREFUL!!!!!!! Use a 1/16th drill bit. If you slip you could damage the 510 connection threads. Some people also state that it makes the base weaker so keep that in mind, I'm gentle with all my setups so I never worry. Start with just one hole, try it, then if you crave more drill another.

The 1/16 airflow Protank.... What a difference.

Happy Vaping! :)

+1 for protank coil rebuilds... cotton & microcoil seems like it's the best it can get on a protank. Much better than stock coils, and a good place to start to see if you're interested in RDA/RBAs. Another suggestion is carto tanks. I've been using them for a couple of weeks now, and am impressed by the flavor/vapor, and especially the consistency. Once you get the hang of priming them, they are way less fussy than a clearo.
Juice tastes different in each of these devices... it's good to check out lots of things to see what works best for you!
Also, yes, in my experience dripping will taste better than pretty much anything.

Never saw a dragon coil in a protank.

I have found that a microcoil and cotton wick makes the protank a very good tank opposed to a not so good tank with the stock coils and silica wick.
