hi everyone

months and months ago, i bought a kit from i-have-no-idea-who, that included 2 kr8 batteries, carts, etc. dh and i were happily vaping away when the batteries went up in smoke, pardon the pun.

so now, we're back to the expensive old-fashioned kind and i'd like to get back to vaping! i need some suggestions for something 'real' sized/shaped, that isn't gonna drive me crazy with complicated stuff - i liked the 2 piece system the kr8 had, but i can't afford to keep replacing stuff every couple months.

HELP!

Hello and welcome! There are tons of great options out there, and it can be extremely overwhelming.

These models are kr8:

-Volt - Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Starter Kits
-Halo G6 - G6 Basic Starter Kit - G6 E-Cig
-Smoov - Starter Kits
-Bloog - http://bloogplanet.com/starter-kits.html
-Vapor Titan/Diamond/Stealth - Vapor4Lif

If looking like a cigarette is unimportant to you, a Kgo/Ego (510) is the way to go.Plenty of options for atomizers, cartos, tanks, batteries and, yup, the Stardust. I usually get my things from Hoosier E-Cig.

This link ---> Best E-Cigarette for a New User
will give you a breakdown of different types of e cigs and help you be sure what you want. Good luck to you!

There are some cool options for small sized mods if you decide you want power, portability and a hit that'll knock your socks off. Rule of thumb.. the smaller the ecig, the smaller the battery, the shorter the vape between charges. I may not be in the majority but do not like the semi disposables that look like cigs.

If I were going to buy an ecig style it would be a precise plus 10440. Lifetime warranty, removable rechargable batteries and will last a lifetime w/ proper care and maintenance.

Mah= Mil amp hour. Think of it like gallons of gas 200mah=2gals of gas, 650mah 6.5gal, 1000mah 10 gals
Rough rule of thumb is 100mah per hour of vapeing, Rough because it is dependant on what ohm atty carto your useing and the actually amount of time vapeing over the hours time, So a 1000mah would last roughly 5 times as long as a 200mah

808 batteries are only about $10 to $15 each (although you CAN spend more). That's just not that much when compared to the expense of smoking. However, I would suggest buying from a reputable dealer so they, at least, last as long as they can.

I just discovered the Volt at Smokeless Image. If you want an 808, that's what I would suggest. They have amazing recommendations from posts I've seen here at ECF.

Hi & welcome to ECF! If you haven't seen this it's pretty funny & instructive: 4 Stages of Vaping - YouTube
It will give you an idea why folks who've been vaping awhile usually wind up with something very unlike a regular cigarette in appearance. However in my opinion the most important things starting out is that you get something you're going to use, and that it satisfies your cravings. If you require a cig-sized e-cig to do this I would stick with one of the KR808s AndreaR listed. They are all 2-piece systems using a cartomizer (carto) and a battery, as opposed to the 3-piece which use a separate cartridge (cart), atomizer (atty) and battery. Note that the 510 cig-sized e-cig can run as either 2- or 3-piece, and its threading is compatible with a great number of upgrades. While these points might seem to be big advantages, in a small battery model they are IMO offset by the fact that the KR808 runs at higher voltage (3.7v vs. 3.4, I think, for the 510). Also if you do start with a small batt model and upgrade to a 510 big batt model you will almost certainly want to use lower resistance cartos than you can use with the small batteries so there's no real "upgrade path advantage" there to be had.

Best bet: Read all you can, ask a lot of questions about anything you want to know, and be prepared to be amazed. Going from smoker to vaper is probably one of the best decisions you've ever made, and may well turn out to be one of the most fun as well.

Best of luck, & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

I highly recommend either Volt from Smokeless Image or Vapor4life - both have great kr808 products and great customer service - there is a lot of info about them in their subforums here on ECF. Please make sure for whatever one you get you get their charger also, if you go with them. Vapor4life runs constant sales so sign up for their newsletter on their site v4l.com

There are two things in this world that are capable of reducing my brain to mush; cell phones/plans, and vaping.

I think the big trick with vaping is to just start with something that you've seen a significant number of people recommend, and not worry about whether or not it will be the end-all and be-all, best device there will ever be. At the very least, you'll gain some experience before you move on to something else, if and when you do.

I'm most familiar with Joye stuff, which I like very much. I happened to go the 510/atty/cartridge, 510/dripping/these carts don't work for crap, 510/cartomizer, Ego-T route. (What's that, like stage 2 and 1/2?) Love my tank, but since you said you wanted something slimmer/more analog-like, I don't think you would go wrong with the Joye(tech)510-T. I've done a lot of research and reading, and that keeps coming up on the top of a lot of lists. Maybe watch some YouTube reviews on them. Just about every person I've heard talk about them say they rock for hit, flavor, convenience, not leaking, all the good stuff.

My two cents, YMMV, cheers.

I am just a week into vaping and someone here turned me on to the smokeless image site and Volt products. What a great site with good prices. It is very easy to navigate with a user friendly layout and great customer service. Before you know it you will be filling your own blank cartomizers and vaping with a smile

LOL! At Warren! That is soooo me! I started with the Blu, went to the eGo, and now have a ProVape-1 mod...so I guess I've finally hit the Stage 4? lol! I'm probably going to get a ProVari before the end of the year. Is there a Stage 5? If so, please tell me NOW! lol!

Kay if there is I'm not even close, but from stuff I keep reading I'm pretty sure it will involve a HH357 dripping atomizer (one of many goodies I haven't tried yet). You know, I read (and not just on ECF, but all over the place) people claiming, "Well, you get what you pay for!". Well, without taking the time or space to debate the finer points of this infinitely debatable statement, for the moment let me just reverse it: "You pay for what you get." That is at least usually true, one way or another. IMO and from my limited experience, if you require your juice to taste the absolute best it can taste, you will drip it on a good atomizer. If, on the other hand, you require your PV to keep on vaping for X period of time without adding juice, "You pay for what you get," in this case by giving up some of that wonderful fresh-dripped-on-an-atty flavor. OTOH, YVMV.

Happy Vaping! :vapor:

From one noob to another...go with what you feel comfortable using. The only reason I considered vaping was because I could get a model that actually looked like a cigarette. After vaping with safecig for a couple of months I got up the nerve to buy a Kgo...wow am I glad I did! Now safe cigs are my back up for my back up :) My next purchase will be more cartomizers for my Kgo and another Kgo kit. But for me it had to be a step at a time. Last November I would never had thought I would be taking breaks at work with a Kgo...now I'm thrilled! I remember people posting here saying that it generates a lot of questions..and it does. I am happy to help others with a superior option.
