Big differences in cigs and vapes

I've been battling trying to quit analogs completely and it's just hard and a constant battle sometimes. What're the major differences you guys face with quitting? Like for me sometimes stress gets to me and I can't fight the need to avoid an actual cigarette taste. The fact that the cigarette actually burns out and the vape lasts forever. The fact that when i'm in the car and my vape dies and I have a pack sitting next to me. What're constant battles you guys fight with trying to quit? And what're some solutions to deal with them? This comes from a down-to-earth guy hell-bent on quitting lol. Thanks y'all.

The fact that when i'm in the car and my vape dies and I have a pack sitting next to me.

With just a little planning, this can be avoided. I actually enjoy the 15 minutes to a half hour each evening, putting batteries on charge and filling tanks for the next day. A car charger is a good idea too, and a USB cable if you work at a computer ...

Keep analogs at a distance if you can, make it an effort to get one, and easier to reach your vaping gear. Sounds like tricking yourself, but it works ...

We're lucky that we can always duck into a gas station or convenience store and pick up a disposable when all else fails, to get through until the batteries charge ... :D

The key to me is...
1. Having a full set of spare batteries ready to go. I always have on me, two fully charged batteries with me.
2. When I'm stressed I don't care if I chain vape...it beats grabbing an analog no matter how many ml's I vape.
3. I always have two tanks/cartos with me at all times, filled with different flavors. One is sure to satisfy my mood or craving.
4. I am analog free now, but the first few days I put my virginia slim lights on a shelf in my garage. If I wanted one, I'd tell myself that if I still have the craving in an hour...I could light one up. I never ended up actually lighting up any of them.

You can do it!!

It was actually easy for me - but I know that doesn't make it easy for everyone...
The things I can think of that might help:
- nic level? I started with 24 mg nic, and never once had what I expected in terms of a "craving" for nicotine...
- I did keep smoking while vaping, but not for long. Over a period of just about 10 days, cigs started tasting nastier and nastier in comparison to vaping, til I realized I just didn't want any more. So I stopped smoking. Hadn't even been trying to quit... So the key there is - find a juice you like!
- Get yourself equipped so you're NEVER without a vape. I STILL usually carry around a backup setup (and though I haven't needed it in a while, I do use it just for a different flavor). When I started, I'd only leave the house with like triple backup...

People are all different, but I smoked all mine up before I quit. I was never successful at resisting them when they were available.

About three months into the switch to vaping, I threw on a jacket one day, felt something in the pocket and drew out a full, unopened pack of my brand. I winced and thought about putting them in the freezer "just in case", but I decided against it. After I showed them to my husband that night, I tossed them in the trash. That was one pack I didn't get to smoke.

It isn't like I miraculously started vaping and never thought about a cigarette. I've had my moments. But when I would get those moments, I let my imagination fully develop the thought of smoking. When I would get to the part about inhaling (and coughing and stinking up everything), I would always realize I didn't want to go there again. If it was an exceptionally tough crave, I would chew a piece of Nicorette gum and/or get busy doing something to pass the time. I'm smoke-free for over six months now, and I hardly ever think about it anymore.

I keep fully charged batteries and plenty of juice and backups for everything just so I won't get in a bind.

I went without cigarettes for 6 months, then had a battery die on the way to work and while I didn't have tome to return home, there was a gas station close by...

Since then, I've been smoking 5 or so cigarettes a day. I smoke more when I need to change/clean the heads in my clearomizer, which I put off, because it wastes e-liquid, heads need rewired/rewicked, it's 2 days before the full moon, etc.

I'm finally trying a different clearo, where the head is easier to replace and doesn't require dumping the tank. Hopefully, it helps.

The thing that made the transition successful for me was simply not having any access to cigs when I started vaping. It took several days to get used to grabbing my eicg vs a cig when the cravings hit but after a few days I didn't even miss them much.

Another option is to keep an Njoy king disposable handy. They look, taste and feel exactly like a real cig. They even have that squishy filter. They are too expensive to use exclusively but to get you thru a bad craving, they work wonderful.

Most important thing is to make sure and have all your vape gear handy and working. Charged batteries, juice, cartos and what not. Good luck!

What I found certain juices would fill my need. I bought a few different flavors and nic levels and 6 different clearmizers. For my drive into work about 30 minutes 18 mg banana nut bread fills the bill, once at work hazelnut or dry plain cinnamon (not the sweet or hot kind) fills the bill, for the drive home butterscotch is killer. in the evenings a good cherry pipe tobacco. I find by mixing the vape I can kick the craving really easy. Yesterday I found rootbeer juice. This is great and it will be added to the rotation. I always have 2 batteries and 6 clearimizers with me.

1.) Always, always have a backup battery (c'mon, this is way cheaper than buying more cigarettes)
2.) Do not have cigarettes available. I told myself that if I REALLY had to have one I could go to the store and buy a pack. Thankfully, that never happened, but if I had them just laying around I would have been tempted.

1. Vaping would not give me a Throat Hit (TH) like analogs (real cigs). -- False.
2. Vaping fruity airy-fairy flavors would make me vomit. -- False. Now I like those best of all, swore I never would.
3. Vaping is just no substitute for analogs. -- False. 7 months smoke free, was easier than I ever thought to quit after 35 years heavy smoking.
4. Vaping is too complicated. -- False. If you can get on a computer and read and post here, you can learn to safely use just about any device on the market. Battery safety and proper handling of concentrated nicotine are top priorities.
5. Vaping will make me a @#$%^&bag. -- False. There are simply a lot of @#$%^&bags who vape. Not the same. Or maybe this one is true after all....

I agree with everything you said - except #5! Not so - I really enjoy reading all your posts!

I try to make sure I take my small kit when I leave the house. Spare battery, small bottle of juice, a standard dripping atty and such.

The real trick for me is that I keep a pack of little cigars, the ones that look like ciggs but have brown paper. I tell myself that if I ever need one, it is right there. Almost 2 years and I bet they are so stale now that I couldn't take more than a puff or two from one of them without puking.

Having the supplies is essential. You never want to find you have to go any length of time at all without having a vape available. Like walking along a 4 inch-wide plank 100 feet up, it's easy in theory but damned difficult in practice. You know you can survive for an hour or two without nicotine; you've done it often. But then the panic sets in and you're not thinking straight.

Every time you get a craving for a cigarette, have a vape for a couple of minutes first before you pick up a cigarette, even if you know that a cigarette is the only thing that will satisfy you. It isn't. Once you've proven that to yourself a few times, those cravings start to weaken.
