me personally i have an EGO-T and an EGO-C. i can go the whole day and part of the next with out charging the batteries. i was 1 pad smoker myself. these are both tank systems and i know some if not most people here have mixed reviews about the EGO-T i personally love it the tank holds roughly 2 ml of juice with is enough to last me about 2-3 hours of constant vaping!!

Hey Bigbob, welcome.

There are many e-cig options that would last even a heavy vapor a whole day. Many are what are called "mods", in that they have batteries that you can change out as opposed to sealed batteries that are one-piece. Mods can get a little confusing for beginners, so I will postulate the following recommendations.

The kGo is probably the most bang-for-your-buck sealed battery available. It is 1100mAh, & a decent rule of thumb is ~1 hour for every 100mAh of capacity. Tons of things influence run time, like the resistance of the atomizer/cartomizer used on the battery (lower the resistance = more current drawn), the amount you vape, etc. Still, the kGo has a huge capacity & offers great power.

The e-Power is a very popular mod, and comes with 2 batteries that are 1050mAh, which is a wash capacity-wise versus the kGo. The nice thing about the e-Power is the batteries are less expensive to replace than buying a whole new sealed battery.

Either would work well for you. There are even larger batteries for mods, which is a whole 'nother ballpark. We can elaborate on that if you're don't mind spending a little more, as these mods can range anywhere from $25 to $400, and involve a lot of fun stuff like chargers, adapters, extension tubes, etc.

Since you sound like you want something that is low maintenance throughout the day, you could look into something like this tank. 3.5ml is a whole LOT of juice, and you'll probably get at least a day before needing refilling, probably much more.

I'm sure others will chime in with great recommendations as well as juice, but this is a start. Again, welcome!

Welcome BigBob! You are a heavy smoker so a big batt is deffinately for you. I'd suggest an eGo to start off for sure but the larger 1100 mah battery, it should last you 11ish hours of vaping pleasure. As for the tanks Im not a huge fan but any would be fine to start. I'd agree about getting some Boge 2ohm cartomizers to start as well.

If you want to bypass the beginner kits I'd suggest a Reo Grand for you....Long battery life and a no mess feeder system so you will never have to fill your cartomizers or drip on your attys.

Ego-T battery without the tanks, Boge 2.0ohm cartomizers, and drip tip. Nothing gets easier than that. I only like the eGo-T batteries because of the on/off feature..makes for pocket friendliness. I hate the tanks. No vapor/flavor/TH. Boge cartomizers are simple to use and make for a wonderful vaping experience. The drip tip feels nice on the lips and makes refilling/topping off much easier than trying to pull the little plugs out.

If you want something that will last a lifetime, go with either a Silver Bullet from altsmoke.com or a Reo bottom feeder from reomods.com. Both are of excellent quality and can be run at different voltages depending on the batteries used.

Hi everyone i am going to get my first e cig and could use some help . I smoke three packs of menthol light 100s VB is the brand . Are there any e cigs that i would not have to change batteries on more than once a day . Recommendations for a good model would be appreciated . Thanks Bigbob61

Howdy fellow Mountaineer!!

Lots of good advice already...but I'll throw in my 2cents

NHaler • Smoking Alternatives

The Igo. Awesome device. 1300mah and uses either it's own 3 ml carto's(disposable atty and cart built together in one piece) that deliver the best hit I've found to date, or you can use 808 gear on them (very popular for a reason. Easy to use, and work very very well). I'm also a HUGE fan of the G5 clearomizers that nhaler sells. They work like a charm on the Igo, and it doesn't get any easier as far as usage goes. You can see the amount of liquid you have left and refilling takes literally seconds. I think the Igo kits are 58$ right now. Worth a look. Good luck! And go EERS!!!

For just getting your feet wet in vaping, but a likely heavy user, I'd tend towards the $30 (after the discount on their home page) liberty flights Riva Lite kit, with Boge 2 ohm cartomizers. To minimize hassle, go for a steel (no plastic covering) cartomizer and pick up a cartomizer tank. I'm using the notcigs M1A1, it's been solid since I got it. (Just sticking with the cartomizers at first, not sweating the tank, is also reasonable.)

If you're willing/able to spend a bit more, as a heavy vaper I use the notcigs variable voltage PVs, with 2.5 - 3.5 ohm cartomizers. Right now their Infinity Pro, plus charger with one set of batteries, is $110. I have the earlier original Infinity, plus a Buzz Pro, they've both been super (I previously used KR808D-1 and Riva 510 PVs). Add a second set of batteries, you should be absolutely fine for all day use. (I run through 6 - 7 ml of eliquid a day before having to change the batteries). They're the place that sells the tank I use, and they also have Boge 3 ohm stainless steel cartos (good to use as is, or punch them and use with the tank). "ECF Buzzkill" is their normal coupon code.

(Perhaps start with the Riva 510 Lite kit, save the money from not smoking for a month, then step up to the variable voltage mod. One should always have backup equipment, and the Riva would be fine as backup to an Infinity Pro.)

As Uba Egar said, previous suggestions in this thread have all been really good, this is just another option.

Just to echo the rest of these folks, I'd go with the e-power which has a good reputation or the eGo but be sure to get the larger one. One benefit to the e-power is replacement batteries are about $8 versus say about 20$ for an eGo.

You being new, I'd recommend you ditch the whole atomizer/cartridge stuff and get yourself some dual coil cartomizers (standard resistance). It's much easier and more practical than fooling with the atomizers, at least when you are starting out.

All I have to offer is that if battery life is what you're after, the eGo-T 1000's with a passthrough are fantastic. Just pop it in a USB port whenever you can, and even without topping off, you should have no problem getting through the day with it. Since it's a standard battery thread type (510), you can use the battery with all kinds of atomisers like the ones people have recommended here. I'm not a heavy user, and wasn't a heavy analog user, so I can't provide good advice on the atomiser/cart part of your equation, but I have been very pleased with the passthrough eGo batteries I have.

It depends, if you're mostly staying indoors (or let's just say you're always near to a power outlet). I suggest you get an Ego Passthrough. The cool thing about this is that you can vape it while you are charging it so there's no need to change batteries. But if you're on the go (working on the field), I suggest you get a big battery mod (take a look at Silver Bullet or GGTS).

Just an advice, the battery life of an ecig depends on how you frequently use it. If a website tells you that the battery life lasts for an "X" number of hours, don't be immediately sold on it since this might just disappoint you. Also, don't expect that you will be getting the "perfect" e-cig (that you will use forever) on your first purchase since this rarely happens. Just try experimenting around and look for the thing that will work for you.

I agree with what Brian said as well as mark.

An EPower, kGo, or Riva would be a great kit that is easy to use to get you going. Their all 3.7V PVs compared to the eGo which is 3.4V. I have an EPower and love it. I chose the EPower over the kGo bc it uses the non-proprietary batteries. They cost only $4 compared to eGo/kGo/Riva batteries that cost $14-20, and they last alot longer before they need to be replaced. I also like the non-proprietary batteries because it's very easy to always carry a spare with you. I get about a day to a day and a half on one battery.
CCV has a great deal on the EPower which was one of the reasons I got the EPower and not the kGo.
I talked to Andrew yesterday and he is getting all the new stuff in for the EPower in a day or 2 and then putting they back on the website. The new kits will come with a better spring that is gold plated, which will give better connectivity. Also the kits will come with the new EPower switch which has a 5-click on/off feature which is nice. You also get about $25 in free stuff with the kit so it's a great deal. The Ressurector cartos that come with the kit for free are awesome and are what I use daily. They are 1.7ohm and hold over 2ml of juice so they last a long time. I fill 2 in the morning before I go to work, throw a spare battery in my pocket and I don't have to worry all day about running out of juice or power. It couldn't be easier.
Like others said the kGo is also a good PV that works great and is affordable. Batteries are 1100mah so they last long.
Hoosier ecig supply has a good deal for the kGo and it comes with the big bore cones which are nice.
The Riva is also a popular 3.7V PV that works very well. LibertyFlights has a great deal for the Riva, so it's very affordable.

Any of these three I think you'll be very happy with. If you don't want to carry around a big tank, I'd try out the Ressurector cartos from CCV. Their easier to carry than a tank but still hold a good bit of juice so they last a long time.
The Ressurectors work great on the EPower, Riva, and kGo.

Goodluck

Have to say hi to a fellow Mounty!

The advice of an E-Power 510, Kgo and Riva 510 with manual batteries are on the mark for a good beginner model.

Being a heavy smoker, however, you may want to also consider a good 5 volt model. They provide even warmer vapor than the larger battery 3.7 volt models already suggested. One of the best ones on the market is the 5 volt GLV2. It's build to last forever as it comes with a lifetime warranty. Here is the site:

5 volt GLV2: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

I would also suggest starting out with 24mg nicotine strength liquid because you can always lower the nic level but you can't make it stronger and most need 18mg to 24mg to transition to vaping. I would also get some blank cartomizers as an alternative to using atomizers with carts.

Good Luck and Go Mountainiers!!!

Big Bob...why don't you take a little time and watch some youtube videos. There is just about
every ecig brand there and it might help you to hear and see the videos and reviews to help you
on you way. Just make a decision, get one and get to vaping. I assure you, you will probably
get another model as you learn and grow in your vaping journey.

Hi and Welcome!
I was a heavy smoker(3PAD, like you), and I vape even heavier- 10-12 ml per day. I was happy with the Riva kit mentioned above, but with my LR Dual coil cartos, I would only get a bit over an hour per NEW battery. Mods were not much better- Original Buzz=2 hours, GLV 5v=2 hours...
Then I found Parkes Vaping has Diamond and Paws mods for $25 and they run on 18650 batteries. I can usually make it a full day on these!!!
So save yourself the hassle, get the mod. If its not for you, at least your only out a few bucks. You can resell it on the classies.
It also does LR vaping with absolutely no problems. The ego and Riva warn against it, and many mods cant even do it. The GLV can fry your juice at 5v...
Hope this helps.
