I fully endorse vaping in public.
Just the other day my wife and I went to Starbucks, for a coffee -(duh),
and we sat down at a table, (her first time vaping in a public building) she was nervous. She pulled out her ego twist with a 3ml tank and I pulled out my Silver Bullet (first time its been out of the house) and we had a vape:vapor:!!! She was so nervous, it was funny.
So we are vaping and starting to attract the disapproved stares of fellow patrons. I paid it no mind-Im not breaking any laws-
We are enjoying ourselves and getting kind of giddy (like sneaking behind the shed for your first smoke)-oh how I regret that now.
I couple sitting a few table away finally speak up and start asking questions. So I explain the device, how it works, and that I am NOT smoking, but vaping. Another guys gets involved and asks questions too. We talk for a bit and share information, then leave.
Point is, it is up to us to spread the knowledge and experience of vaporizing to the general public. I acknowledge that it does look funny or different, but spreading the truth about vaping and working it into the community will help facilitate acceptance and understanding.
Just my thought!! Go out and spread the word, educated your local community and possible convert a few stinkies along the way.
Keep Vapin

I vape almost everywhere. I don't shop at brick and mortars much and when I do I try to make it quick. For that reason I have yet to vape at retail chains like Target so I don't get stuck trying to defend what I'm doing. I took a toot right before walking in one time and someone assumed it was for something other than nicotine. Everywhere else is game though, work, car, bar/club, etc....

I say who cares. If it works it works.. and if it gathers the intrest of others, explain what it is, how it works etc, and that it helped you quit smoking the stinkies. I haven't heard one person say anything negative about it after explaining that I was a 1.5 p.a.d. smoker and quit cold turkey no prob.
Only been a lil less than 2wks and I've already converted 3 ppl :)

I gave up on the smaller cigarette size and shape for the longer battery life and general ease of using a bigger model. I've settled into my eGos pretty well. I use clearomizers and tanks. When I decided to actually quit smoking, I didn't care what it looked like. It was kind of odd at first, but I got over it. I was surprised by how many people asked about it, like What I thought about it, did it help me quit the stinkies, where can I get them, battery life and all sorts of things. As has been said before, education is the key. My workplace is not on board with it. We still have to go to the "smoking area". I think it sucks, not to mention it stinks in more ways than the obvious. Part of kicking the habit was NOT having to go out there and be around cigarettes, and that made it a little harder. Even my dentist noticed today that I had quit smoking. He said he could tell by my healthy gums! Yay for the ecigs! There is a learning curve til you find what suits you and you'll spend almost as much as you did on cigarettes, but once you find your own way, it does get cheaper. Just don't give up!

Yes I do. I've used mods the size of a BB, Silver Bullet, Provari, and V.V. Griper. I've been vaping for 10 months. I reached the point where I don't care if people see what I'm using. Who cares what anybody thinks? What are they going to do? I've used these in front of security guards and police officers at outdoor concerts and professional sporting events. They don't even blink. And Cincinnati is one of the strictest, most conservative cities in the States.

I Dont have anything bigger than an Ego T and I vape that anywhere I formerly smoked analogs. I even went through security screening at the State Capitol in California and not even a word. If i had a Provari I would still vape it in public. (BTW if anyone wants to donate a Provari I'll test the theory lol.) As others have said if we run around hiding like this is something bad we are never gonna get mainstream acceptance.

A year ago, I'd be amazed to find that I would become one of the folks who would opt to hang their Ego/clearomizer combo from one of those lanyard things. Now, I just carry the egos as a backup for my Provari or Zmax. I tend to chain vape when not actively engaged with people.

I rarely think about other people's reactions anymore though I do notice more and more folks vaping in public with Twists or similar 'mods'. I always make a point of asking these folks about their kit and their experience. Occasionally - I get questions like "...what is That?.." - as said in a previous reply - I try to be a good vaping citizen and educate the questioner. Seems everyone knows someone who has tried or does use electronic cigarettes nowadays. On my last road trip, I got a thumbs-up from a trucker who flashed something that looked like a Kgo pass-thru with a skinny tank on top.

With one notable exception (stealth vaping in a nearly empty movie theater) I make a point of NOT vaping where smoking is usually not allowed. I was walking around a Reno casino (the Atlantis walkway from the parking lot) puffing on a Vivi-Nova on a twist when this lady at a machine walked over to me to point out that I was in a non-smoking area. She proceeded to do so and did a quick change-of-face asking "...Oh, is that a e-cigarette?". I explained the device to her and she went back to her girl-friend saying "he isn't really smoking". I got the impression that the friend was the one who has the problem with cigarette smoke.

I mention this because I immediately put away my device. My activist days are behind me - so, I am just fine with not explaining my activities to restaurant managers let alone a police officer looking to make a bust. Plus - until I get down to zero nicotine, I am not 100% certain that vaping is safe for people around us. I still haven't gotten past learning how quickly vapour streaks the inside of a windshield! Soft draw atomizers like the z-atty and r-mod are helpful here because 3-5mg of nicotine is delivered efficiently and feels like the content is higher. I think these atomizers look better and feel more balanced on the larger mods - so, what was just for home now travels with me.

If its a big vaporizer that i'm using in public, at least they don't think it's a crack pipe. Truth be told, I could care less what others think outside of them calling the cops for me "using drugs" from a stealth PV. Do I like to lug around a light sabre? Not really haha. Good thing the eGo mini's have a blue light when you fire it.

I carry a 1,300 Volt X2 most times, now with a T3 tank on the end of it. It's big. I use it in public where smoking is allowed.

I do get some looks. Most are questioning. Some are a smile and nod (I guess from other vapers or people who know what it is and approve). A rare few look offended. I ignore the latter and smile and nod at the rest.

I have so been wating to vape in a theatre!!!!!!!!
But, I chicken out everytime. I just need to grow a pair, man up and do it!!!
You inspire me, Thanks
Keep Vapin :vapor:(even in the theatre):D
I vape in the theatre. I am stealthy as I don't want to raise awareness. I make every point to insure I'm in the back of the theatre (last row if available) or off to the very edge next to a wall if possible. I wait until the lights go completely out for the movie. I don't inhale deeply or make large vapor clouds...I tend to do small inhales, hold it, and release very slowly into my shoulder or upper arm.

I will vape at the grocery store or Walmart. I don't vape in convenience stores or gas stations.

I don't like to vape in restuarants, some flavors can leave a particular scent or aroma behind from the vapor and affect other people's dining experience.

Thanks for all the replies ladies and gents. I will be getting something larger in the future even if it stays home. My wife doesn't seem to like anything but real cigs and really isn't trying very hard to quit. With the volt I am smoking a pack every 4 days instead of 1.5 to 2 packs per day, so I can see the results without really trying hard.
Do you know why your wife isn't trying hard? Perhaps she has not reached that point of dedication and willpower to try yet.

Is she trying vaping at all? Is she a tobacco or menthol smoker?

Is the lack of satisfying vape that is keeping her from vaping? Too strong or too weak?
