Hello all, I am not new to vaping electronic cigarettes. However, I am still a beginner at bigger mods. I have bought 4 different mods in total. Only one of them is viable to me. That is because the first three mods I've purchased were those really weak cigarette sized mods. They were: The SafeCig, Apollo and Bloog. They were all horrible.
Now back to my major reason to making this thread:
I want to research and figure out WHICH mod is the best choice for, me and basically alot of other people who are in my position. (A college student with no big income)
I'm looking for a mod that isn't overly huge. Yes, size matters to me.
I saw the silver bullet and was happy that it looked amazing to me.
However, I saw a picture of the silver bullet next to the black beauty and was taken aback. The black beauty was actually ALOT smaller than the silver bullet. That was a turn off as I don't believe in using overly BIG mods.
The silver bullet really looks nice to me. But so does the black beauty.
Another reason I wouldn't buy the silver bullet is because that mods been out even when I researched ecigs before I was legally able to buy them! So I know there are definitely a better mod available now. It also only has 2 different voltage capabilities. I wouldn't want to stack batteries either because I heard that's worse in some way.
I will list a category that I want my future mod to hold. Please take a close look and think of a mod that closely scores well in this list.
1. Not overly big.
2. Variable voltage. I'm not talking about just two different voltages after stacking or unstacking batteries. I'm talking about using voltages in-between 3.7 to 6 volts. Or 5.
3. Solid construction.
4. Scratch resistant, or scratch proof. Just something that doesn't get scratched too easily.
5. Good price for the device, nothing that I'm paying too much for just because it's a good mod.
6. Good customer service and warranty. I really need a mod that can be returned and replaced or possibly fixed if it breaks down without me physically debilitating the mod (which will NEVER happen)
7.
By the way, I know that silver mods are really prone to scratching easily. I'm not talking about the silver that has a texture thats sort of bumpy and has tiny craters in it, I'm talking about the REALLY shiny eye candy silver. Kind of like the back of an ipod.
I also want a mod that houses a tank mod well. I know for a fact that some mods cant even fit tank mods. Such as the GLV2 series. The carto is in the way.
The mod I have is the GLV2 supermini, and although it is a decent mod I feel that 3.7 volts just doesn't cut it anymore. I mean, I usually use 18mg nicotine liquids and I've had to up it to 24mg just cause the throat hit wasn't good enough anymore, and I've heard that higher voltages can use even 6mg liquids and still feel like a 24mg hit! So less nicotine for me and more satisfying hits!
Also, what tank mods do you guys use? I've heard of map tanks when I FIRST heard about tank systems about

Heh, my first thought is, "maybe decaff?" OK, enough about the weirdness that pops into my head...

Um, not big, but full VV, rugged, but inexpensive, will be scratched at often so has to have a hard surface, but great customer service. And a SB is big....

Ugh, might take a look at the Buzz then? I think they are a bit thinner than a SB, but not sure about length.

I'm very happy with my bead blast finished stainless steel Provari, but I also have the extension cap on it for an 18650 and size was the last thing on my mind when I looked at mods last. Since you are asking about map tanks, it can't be a "holdout" kind of thing, so I am guessing small hands then.

Your first 3 purchases were not mods. They were mass-produced slim ecigs. Mods have removable industrial batteries, the way batteries are removed from a flashlight.

I think the only small VV's are plastic box mods which can break if dropped - and if you get one I recommend one with the evercool circuit for better battery life - Old Goat in Buying & Seller... Modders or from his site sells one for $55 I think. Black plastic is a bit harder to break than the crystal clear colors. Smoketech also makes a similar mod but is out of stock. Madvapes has one but without the evercool circuit which means it would use the charge up faster.

Many use Provari variable voltage mod (nice metal mod) - not sure what they cost not how troublefree they are or what kind of beating they can take. but I don't know if they will fire 1.5 ohm dual coils - I think they refuse at 1.5 ohms? Seems to be on sale for $160. I think you get a good warranty and someone says you can purchase an extended warranty.

Then there is Infinity Pro from notcigs - check that one out

And on the cheap side the new Lavatube from Volcano - these are new, little info on them but is bigger than Provari. Scroll down to pic of a hand holding Lavatube (bottom) and Provari (top). However someone there says if you have the extender on Provari so it could use the 18650 battery Lavatube uses, they would be about the same length. As shown Provari's using the default 18490 or 18500 battery. I think Lavatube cuts down the voltage if you stick 1.5 ohms on it. But it's much cheaper than Provari and may have a 1 yr warranty.
