Yesterday I had my biggest analog trigger. Working on my jeep when it was broke more than I thought. We wheel it pretty hard and broke an axle when I thought I broke a hub. Anyway, that's when I usually "take a break" and smoke a cigarette or three. While tempting, and the remainder of my last pack sitting on my workbench staring at me, I went in the house and got my PV. Same feeling of "taking a break" and calming my frustrations at my broken jeep. Alas, I didn't get it fixed, I'll order a new outer axle shaft on Monday and try again.

That's a big win. Congrats! My 'trigger' was the relaxed one - on the porch with coffee. But ecig worked just as well.

I've been a mechanic for 15 years now, and you understand my dilema. LOL Was 3 packs a day before I quit, now look what happened:

Sheer amount of stress and pain requires a LOT of nic, or someone or something is going to get hurt. Even my brother who has never smoked was takin hits off my GGTS when he sheered a crank key at the track, broke the balancer, chunked the blower belt, broke the chain and bent a bunch of valves. I saved his life with vaping that night !

I hit mine big time last night. A drunk dropped a bottle of beer on the floor just as there was a massive queue of customers, and demanded a mop to clean it up with. So I told him I'd get one once we cleared the queue - which led him to mock me and suggest to his friends that he slip on purpose, or stand on the broken glass so he could sue the store. In the end I cleaned the mess, and just as I finished, the mop bucket broke and sent a bucket of water across the floor. So I cleaned that, and my co-worker ran into the new bucket, knocking it over. I turned the air blue, and was so tempted to ask for a packet of smokes, but instead I retreated to the bathroom and took a few very long drags on my e-cig then went back to work.

For me, that was a massive win over the analogs.

Congratulations! Its a powerful feeling to get through those triggers.

I made it through a 3 am call that my daughter was being taken by ambulance (she's in college), and then 3 stressful hours while the hospital wouldn't tell me anything due to HIPAA laws, with her unable to communicate to give consent (she's okay).

I was thinking what is it exactly I'm missing with e-cig compare to analog ones and now pretty sure it's a tobacco/smoke smell on EXHALE. I tried a different juices/voltage/PV and there is not odor in exhale vape.

Interesting thought. I do just fine away from the house, but at home I'm used to going out to smoke an analog. I do go outside a vape sometimes, but other times I take one of my wife's analogs. She's slowly coming around...so for now I keep trying. I'm new to it so I don't beat myself too bad.

When I first quit smoking I had a 510 auto hanging out of my mouth most of the time as most of my triggers are when I am doing something else - walking out the door, getting in the car, working on said car, ect. I mostly use a plain mod box these days - my workbench looks a lot like stownzs as its becoming an obsession lol. Still have several of those triggers but one of the worst is when coworkers come in from smoking. It doesn't smell good to me anymore but still makes me want one.

I would have to say that I have two main BIG triggers. One is driving, and the other is drinking alcohol. Either one and I have to vape more, no matter what. Hopefully I can get an Ali'i VV soon or a Reo Grand soon......juice-feeders, and be able to drive a little better, instead of dripping and driving.

Nothing like a Jeep to tempt your old habits into coming back. Broken axles shafts, bashed mounts, blown u joints, cracked xfercases, the list goes on. Most of my heaviest smoking days were with my Heep. Just Empty Every Pocket. Gotta love a Jeep though and vaping is good too!!

Tell me about it! I've actually got 2 jeeps, a 97 TJ and an 07 JK. We wheel them both, so I'm always fixing something.

My worst experience with off roading and vaping comes from my ecig's incompatibility with dirty environments. Still working on a solution for that one.

That being said, almost 2 months sans analogs so far!

Hi All - just thought I would chime in. I took the last week off of my day job to do a big plumbing project. It's been very hot in Washington DC this week, and this job has been hard and dirty - lots of triggers. Several days ago I had a friend over helping who smokes. That was no problem. But after he left I found a partial pack of Marlboro Reds that he'd left by mistake. I was having a beer, and even though I was a Camel Filter smoker, Marlboros are pretty close. I thought about it, but walked away. These e-cigs are really amazing - I never thought I would be able to quit.
