Looks like it has been assigned to the Human Services Committee.

The chairperson is actually a co-sponsor and wants this thing passed!

I found her contact info on the website.. If this is public, we have every right to contact her and share our opinion.

Now, since I am still fairly new to vaping, I would appreciate your input on points that need to be made besides the obvious..

Incase someone wants to contact Her, the contact info is:

I am no expert on vaping, but I have some political experience. I don't want to be too cynical about all this, but I see a great deal of time being spent trying to convince politicians about the benefit of E-cigs. In most cases, that is wasted time. What matters to an elected official is....getting re-elected. In that vein, I would say it is more important to demonstrate the help or damage a certain position has on the particular elected official's carreer. Pointing out that there are hundreds of thousands (and growing) of e-cig users....and we vote. Might also point out that militant types (like myself) will endeavor to label anyone who attacks e-cigs as pro-smoking and BT and BP lackeys. If you are going to wade in the sewage pipe of politics, you have to be prepared to get dirty.

But be polite and diplomatic about it...... ;) :D

Doesn't it apply to analogs as well? I went to the linked bill and read the full text.

I think it says products containing nicotine intended for human consumption...
Doesn't this mean the FDA will have to regulate and approve the harmful analogs?
Or else include specific wording that allows the harmful and deadly nicotine analogs to be not required to be FDA approved?

It is referring to only e-cigs. It says its referring to products that are not classified as a tobacco product.

Sorry, I had missed that. It does say 'that is not a tobacco product'.
But it says 'as defined...' by U.S. code. What exactly is such definition?

Doesn't this Illinois ammendment bill in effect simply require one tiny leaf of tobacco to be inserted in the ecig? Then it's officially a tobacco product, exempt from Illinois government ban.
