New vaper here, heres my short story.

Bought a EGO ONE VT, and Kanger TOPBOX mini 75w

first with the Ego ONE. which was my first buy, but had leaking problems and the coils
are crap, didnt taste good either, i prefer the Ti coils and the Ni one tasted like anu$...

being a new vaper; i assumed that was that, and purchased the topbox mini.

To my dismay i got one of the ones that has leaking issues, so now im at a crossroads.

Then after doing some MORE research "now that i know some terms and such I can dig deeper"

I leared that the tanks might be issue.

So i figured hey! the ego one vt is actually a great mod... its the tank that sucks...

So i ordered a Aspire Triton V2.
Its not here yet but im told it will fit... got it in black to match..
and if it doesnt fit, I can put it on the kbox mod...

So I put the kbox tank onto the ego one, and it didnt fire! (in wattage mode)

but the kbox fires the ego one max tank... am i missing something here?

It seems to be, at least to me, both mods are decent, its the tanks that come with them that
suck... Ive also got my eyes on an aspire nautilus X if i need to replace both tanks?

Im asking for advice;
What can i do to stop the leaks?
Why will the kbox fire the ego max tank, but the ego one mod wont fire the kanger tank?
Why does the same ejuice taste like heavenin the kanger, but like throat ash on the other/
(it should be noted that i didnt burn the cotton and i changed the coil, issue remains)
Will the Triton V2 work on both of these mods?

also: Subohm should make better clouds right? but with the same juice at the same wattage
(i checked the leaflet to see the wattage of the L/M/H settings and matched it on kanger)
the 1.5 ohm makes clouds that dot out the sun, but the ego one barely covers my view.

Im rambling now, going to stop. just so frustrated.

Hard to touch on all of that, but probably reason the Topbox can fire the Ego one tank is it generates sufficient current to do so as it's rated up to 75W on an 18650 battery. The Ego one, OTOH, has a non-replaceable battery with some sorta TC setting (low, medium, high? kinda weird), no indicated actual voltage/wattage to access other than low, medium, high (unless I'm mistaken but that's all I saw) and may not put out sufficient current to fire the low ohm Kbox Topbox subohm tank.

The leaks? I have no idea, I don't own either tank. The Kbox generally performing better than the Ego one? Probably because it has a true variable wattage mode you can dial in to get a pleasing vape rather than relying on the vague low, medium, high thing.

Stick the Triton on the Topbox when it arrives and you should be fine. Good luck!

Thanks. Just trying to salvage the Ego one VT mod, its a nice mod
it has a Ti, Ni and wattage mode
and the settings are
low 20w
med 25w
high 30w
rated at .5ohm coils.

And i just realized why it wont fire. the kanger has a .2ohm coil
its probably under what it would accept...
edit: im guessing it wont fire anything under .5ohm, is that a thing?
edit: well its been 6 days and they finally got back to me "ironically as I was writing this" the ego one vt only supports down to .4ohm. (0.4 to 3.5 range)
for anyone finding this at a later date and wondering.

Thanks for the reply though!

The ego tank is actually pretty good, the coils that come with it Bite!
Get some rebuild-able coils for it (clr coils come in 5 pks) and its a very good tank.
Read all about it here.

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil
Hmm dont really want to get into rebuilding coils.
Is there an option for something else? I looked at that page and it may as well
be written in sanskrit; i just dont get it.

The nudge towards building your own is that mostly all factory coils can have quality control issues and just plain suck. Sometimes it is one out of the 5 and other times it is ALL 5 are sucky.

Save yourself some frustration and headache (along with some ca$h) and get rebuildables. Sure you might wind a few up that suck, but you'll also wind up some that last weeks if not months of trouble free vaping!

Sure, in the beginning I did not want to get into making my own coils ether. However after getting a few "duds" at local B&M prices I made the switch and have never looked back.

CoilArt by Coiltech makes several types of coils for the Ego One tanks(CTCL), that perform way better then the CL coils. I'd give you a link, but I'm on my phone, and I don't know how . Lots of good reviews on YouTube. Vaping with Vic does one with the coils made for the Ego One tank. Worth a look.

Hmm thanks, see if i can find that up here in Canada.

Remember Ti & Ni can only be used in temp control. In wattage you may use kanthal, nichrome, & SS.
If in doubt Ask before you buy.
I don't think anyone wanted to build coils when they started. It does become routine & is a wonderful uptick to factory made power heads..

Oh yea, i thought everything except SS needed VT or VW.
    learn something new.

To be honest though, ive tried Nickel... all you can taste is the metal.

Ss316 can be used in TC or power modes..
Well so far ive just been buying what the mfg has provided for its tanks.

i have a eGo one VT, and Kangertech toptank mini 75w.

I have ordered 2 aftermarket tanks, aspire triton 2, and aspire nautilus x.
I plan on putting those on these mods, however ive also just ordered
generic coils for those too, i didnt even realize to look for that.

The store guy was not helpful, should have came here first.
