While clearing some trees on a buddy's property last Friday I managed to drop my Provari on one of the trails. I have a Legacy Mechanical and a Vamo but I prefer the Provari for everyday use. The Legacy is nice around the house but I do not find it very practical when I am out. I have kept the Vamo for the oft chance that something happened to the Provari. While I will say it is a good backup it does not replace my Provari. After living with the Vamo for 1 week I am happy that I ordered another Provari today. Hopefully it gets here soon. :) Happy that I will once again be a satisfied Provari owner... sad I had to drop another $200.

Yes, I do. We walked along the trails (about a half mile stretch) where I think it "jumped" out of my pocket. We did not get anything but fencing and old marking posts. I also lost my wedding ring last year on the same property. Seems that I should leave my expensive items at home when I travel down to his place. We are going to do another sweep with the metal detector. Hopefully I do find it and I'll have two. If not at least I have one on order now.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune about losing the original Provari. Do you know anyone with a metal detector? Shame to leave it out there, knowing that if you ever found it it likely would continue to work.

Good advice! A cheap metal detector runs less than $100 and you may find your lost items. Wow, you'd have 2 Provari's!

If you have any buddies with hunting or tracking dogs, it might be worth a try to get one of the dogs to smell the juice you were using and send them out to "find it". Nose work has gotten really popular as a fun sport these days, so there are a lot of "regular" dogs out there who have that training. (Nose work training is based on the same training they use for security sniffer dogs)

One of my Weims was able to find a woman's watch that had been dropped (and covered up by the footing material) in a big horse arena. Could be worth a try.

Who now has 2 ProVaris? This guy!!!! Found My Black V2 today. No dogs, No metal detectors, just dumb luck. It was run over by a quad and sat through at least 2 rainstorms. Carto busted, fuel tank intact, device = covered in dirt/grime with a few knicks... but when I cycled to the menu it lit up. Put on a different tank and it fired right up. Yep even the battery still had life :). ProVari is definitely top quality. Wish I had found it before I bought my new white one ... but now I have one to beat around with. On another note I have a great backup for my Provari.
