Bizarre Problem with EgoC But Not with EgoC Twist

I'm a relatively new vapor. I feel like I am still learning. I'm definitely loving it.

Here's my bizarre problem. I got an EgoC kit and then a Twist battery to try as well. I have been using the EgoC without issue for around a week. It's been great for me. Then all of a sudden I started getting that burning taste. I thought it was the atomizer. So, I switched it. And, the same thing happened only worse. I popped the cartridge/tank out and had plumes of smoke (awful burning smell) coming from the atomizer. I noticed that the liquid was discoloring where it was burning. So, I switched to another atomizer and then used a rubber/silicone cap on the cartridge/tank thinking maybe the cap had distorted from use and was burning. It happened again. I tried both of my EgoC batteries and the same thing kept happening. I then tried using the Twist battery and it is absolutely fine with the silicone cap and the first atomizer. I don't know why...it's like the juice isn't flowing properly to the atomizer when I use the regular EgoC battery.

Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts about this? It's quite frustrating. And, I am enjoying the Twist. But I would like the regular EgoC to work as well.

Thank you!!!

That is odd. What voltage are you running the Ego Twist at and what resistance are you using on your atomizers? Are you using a cone on the Ego-C? Have you cleaned all the contacts and threads? Also, check to make sure you are getting a good contact. Some 510 connectors push the pins on the atomizer up and you have to re-adjust, though that would probably have the opposite effect.

What I'm thinking is that if you run your Ego Twist at 3.0v and your Ego-C is 3.4v or 3.7v and your are using a 1.5Ohm atty, that difference if voltage might be why.

Just grasping at straws though.

Mooreted is on the right track. I had both the eGo C and Twists. What happens is the regular eGo is runs at one voltage only, the Twist you have the option of dialing it down. I had the same problem with the regular eGo's. They really are too hot for the cartridges. At least you do have the Twist to use with it.

You might want to look at different options for your juice delivery. I, myself, use the clearomizer tanks. It works on both types of batteries. I did end up getting more twists and I keep the regular eGos for backup purposes.

I am using the Twist at around 3.2 with the regular atomizer that came with the eGo C. I think that is type A. I am using the regular cone that came with the kit. I have opened it up and cleaned it a couple of times. I sprung a leak twice so I did a lot of cleaning and wiping down.

At least the Twist is playing nice right now.

Really odd, then. Perhaps you are pushing the button longer, therefore heating the atty up more than you did when you first started?

It feels like I am doing exactly the same thing as I was doing. If anything, I learned to not drag as hard as that tended to flood it. So, I have been taking longer slower pulls with both the eGo C and the Twist. But now the I am getting the burning and it appears the wick isn't sucking the juice out of the cartridge/tank with the C but rather just heating up and burning. The Twist is perfect using it the same way.

Mmmk - I was asking because the Upgrade is an odd little critter. I got one by accident, thinking it was a regular C.

I know some suppliers have changed all their ego kits ( C-T-W) over to the Upgrade as the new standard. I like them because of the better, safer circuitry. And I had previously switched to Joye because of constant malfunctions with the Kgo/Riva series. Hated having to vape at 3.4 tho. Now I have good 3.7 vape, or higher when used as a PT.

Doesn't sound like a voltage problem to me .....unless your kit batteries are not putting out like they should. Do you have a meter to test?
Or another device to put on the kit batteries??
After using on your twist the rest of the day, and fully chargeing the kit batteries, try the kit batteries again Sunday.

Also, be aware that some of the burnt taste we get can come from what's in there from China. Some of us are now cleaning everything before we first use it.

I am super diligent about cleaning before use. It's definitely something actually burning. I see actual smoke coming off the atty and liquid discolors at the opening of the cartridge/tank... Also, all the juice I use is US made.

There was a guy on here a few months back that started gagging on a Vivi Nova and ended up in the hosp for 3 days in Very bad shape.

I only use Boge cartos, and altho I may start to wash them soon because of the start-up taste- I'm not sure what I could what I could use as a sterilization method for them- maybe a small amount of alcohol in the pre-wash?

Of course, just the PG in my liquid should do some of that.?

Not that I understand all of this...but I agree that it doesn't sound like a voltage problem. They were fine for a week and now all of a sudden both of the C batteries seem to be causing the burning since it doesn't happen with the Twist. That being said, I will charge up the eGo C's and give them a shot tomorrow. Thank you!!
