I just wanted to ask if anyone else is having trouble with the new black buttons on the manuals. I ordered a pink & green XL manual & both came with black buttons instead of the gold. I've noticed that they stick and don't really provide a consistent vape. They either stick & don't light or they will light but not for the entire time. I'm not sure if I'm crazy or not but I am sending them back and hope I get the traditional gold button. The black buttons are like a rubbery feel and I really miss the gold button.
Does anyone know if that is what they are switching to?
I really hope not...

I also have one of the new Green XL's with the black button. I actually like the button itself. It seems to have a nice action to it. I did notice with my battery that there is a lot longer "cool off" period. Do any of yours seem to have a longer "cool off" timer. After I reach the cut off (approx 10 sec) then I have to wait for the "cool off" timer (another approx 10 sec). I am not sure if this is a new addition or not. None of my other regular batts have this long of a timer, nor any of my sisters XL's. It also seems as if it doesnt hit as hard... I am thinking maybee my center post is pushed in too far (I am going to contact CS soon to find out).

Yes, I am having similar issues.... I had ordered 2 "new" XL batteries with the black rubber buttons.... I find those batteries to be very "blink" happy.... The cut off (to me at least) seems to be shorter than my other XL's that I have, does not seem to hit as hard and the "cool off" (time in between vaping... meaning... a fully charged battery starts blinking; hits the cut off & you have to wait a while to vape again) time as you put it... I have not experienced that with my other XL batteries.

As stated, I have a regular sized manual battery with black button. When I inhale to the point of the blinking (plenty long time), I can
vape immediately after that. No wait time. ?

Hummm.. interesting... wondering now if its just a problem with the XL's... I had contacted customer service when I first got them... but I wanted to give the batteries a fair chance to see if it was me or the batteries... I just really have not had the chance to sit down & focus on them.

On these batteries. They do have about a 13 second cut off. If you do take a 13 second drag (I cant inhale that long) the battery will make you wait a few seconds before it will fire again. They ONLY do this if you inhale them the full 13 seconds. You can take several shorter drags with no problems. As far as the button sticking... The only way I could get one to stick is if I literally "slid" the button instead of pushing it. Even then it was hard to replicate. As always contact us if you have any problems :)

I like the other gold buttons better b/c I take a long drag and then put on another cart and take another drag.
I don't like waiting for the "cool off" period. Or like the blinking 8 times ( instead of 3).
Is there a way to only order the gold button batteries? or are they all gone and replaced with the black buttons?

OK My good XL with the gold button is dying. It is getting hard to push the button.
Is there any way to purchase more? I really don't like my black button one.
Not only do I have issues with the drag time but it does not make that sizzle sound when I inhale and I don't get much flavor from my carts.
I don't care which color I buy...I just want to know if there are any gold button XL's still available to purchase. And if so can I just specify that on the order comments ?

I have to agree as I have just received a regular chrome manual battery today. This battery has the black button and is FAR from a 13 second cutoff. It is more like 5-8 sec and then 8 blinks and it will not activate for 10 seconds. I have been so frustrated with inconsistent auto batteries that I have only been ordering manuals for some time. I sometimes wish V4L would stick to what works. I have also noticed lees hitting power and the center post is recessed quite a bit. I have tried prying it up, but as soon as you screw a carto on it goes back to how it was. I am so mad about poor battery performance as of late I have started researching mods. I have been a loyal V4L customer for over a year and their customer service is great (replacements), but a lot of the time you get a replacement its as bad as the original problem. There are so many issues lately, (Carto fix), (sand battery threads), (poor batteries), it seems they need some quality control. I have now become somewhat reluctant to recommend V4L to friends and family because to a newbie this would turn them off and become difficult.

I received a regular sized chrome manual with a black (rubber?) button. At first, I liked it. However the button started getting stuck under the battery at the top. You have to hit it right in the center. Don't care for it myself.
I ordered the exact same battery on 10/16, when did you?

I too am finding the rubber button a little sticky.
I like the classy gold look of the other button, it matches the logo too.
I like my gold manual with gold button better too. I like that the button is the same color as the battery.

My battery had a long cool-off period too - did not like that at all.

I was wondering about the loss of flavor too. Didn't matter if they were CoolCarts or Wow carts. Definitely specify which button you want in the comments.

I too have been a loyal V4L customer, and they replaced my battery with another one that didn't measure up either but they are sending out another replacement. They will make it right, as they always have because they know how important customer service is, especially to a growing business.

Don't reply to your order confirmation email - instead open a support ticket at:
V4L :: Support Ticket System

Some vendors concentrate on sales over service, and other vendors concentrate on service over sales. The former has a "slam, bam, thank you ma'am" mindset and does not get my business. The latter is looking for a long-term relationship and does get my business!

Humm, if I had the money, I would request a batt that has a black button, but I do not have any extra cash. Now the only thing I can think of it sticking, is what Sir Chad said. If you slide it up. Maybe your thumb slips when you are using it? I know mine does all the time and I am glad I have a gold button. But I am sure if this keeps happening to other people, maybe V4L will go back to a gold button lol.

What I would love to see is A touch sensitive button. I will not say where I saw it as IMHO it is rude to post other products on another site. But there are touch sensitive buttons out there and I think V4L would make a killing if they started doing that.

Kev, thanks but I've tried everything. Hit button in the middle only, the top only, the bottom only, and 9 out of 10 times the top half of the button sticks in the down position and I can't slide the button at all.
P.S. good to see you back!
