This is my first rebuildable ,but I have rebuilt several pro tank coils without a problem. I used 28g ,micro coil with cotton. I have tried putting the wicks a couple of different ways, one video says place it down and avoid the channels, another says go up the chimney. It works great for awhile either way then I start getting dry, nasty, burn't cotton hits. I have redone this thing 4-5 times with the same results. Help!!

Ok I had fits with my kayfun clone at first too.

I was getting dry hits from 2 separate problems.

1. I use cotton wicking and my cotton was sagging down into the channels blocking them. Solution for me was angling my coil a bit so the cotton hit the deck immediately next to the channel not on it

2. Don't fill it all the way. I got dry hits anytime I filled mine up past the clear window. It needs that empty space to get the vacuum it need to wick properly.

I had the same problem with my KF 3.1 clone. I found I can only go down to about 0.8 ohms and that even though I thought the juice channels were clear of wick, they were not. Rip Trippers did a video on the Kayfun light with two setups that look pretty good. I use Ekowool instead of cotton, but if I used cotton I would try one of these.

donwuan had a good idea. A couple of pics of the setup so we can see what the wicks look like would be good.

I do a fairly standard Micro coil on a 14ga. syringe needle
I wick it only slightly snug, but not binding tight and clip the wick even with the outer housing
Wet with e-liquid, lift and tuck to the deck back from the channels
Install the main Chimney section
Here, I roll a second wick about 2/3 the thickness of the main wick

This wick circles the coil, against the chimney section and is lightly tucked to lay even all around and covering the 2 Channel areas.
This seems to allow better flow and wicking with the Nest preventing flooding.

I have even carried the setup in my case laying in my lunch box all day without any leak/flood issues.

* This is similar to the way the Navy Nest ends up, but done in 2 stages with cotton rather than a figure 8 in silica.

Hope it helps a few. Works Great on the KFL+ BE as well as the Rocket tanks and Kayfun lite.

ACowboy fan. I have two kayfun clones in my house. I have only built each one twice. I use a 3/32 drill bit and do 10 wraps with 28ga kanthal... with 1/4 length wise of a large unrolled cotton ball.
Lightly compressed I pull the cotton through the coil and remove any excess cotton that begins to drag on the back of the coil...
This allows the wick to gently drag within the coil.. but not loose enough that it can pull out easily... I then cut the ends flush with the outer diameter. Fluff the remaining ends to form a paintbrush like shape.
Then i take the ends and hold them away from the build deck. Thread the chimney base on the deck. Then i gently place the ends on their respective sides of the deck making sure not to compress them too much. At this point i load the cotton with my chosen liquid, assemble the top cap and body and fill with liquid..... if you don't leave an air bubble it will not wick. If i fill with the fill valve(upside down) i will not fill past the "top" of the window.... if i fill with the drip tip end off i will only fill just above where the chimney taper goes from large to small.
I have the tobeco clone and the yeahsmo clone and both where built this way and each one has been running two tanks per day for the last month or so.... Hope that helps. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

This sounds really good, maybe next time you could take a picture so I can see exactly what your doing. Thanks

I will take a picture when it gets low again, reworked it again and haven't got to the point where it starts the dry burn yet.

I did 10 wrap micro coil with 28g ,every time I have taken it apart some of the cotton is dry as hell. I have another one, different brand, cheap from focal and it always works fine with the same exact set up. It's 1.6 ohms.

Hi people;
I started my RBA treasure with Oddy and ı have been vaping on for almost one year with my oddy.Nowadays ,the trend Kayfun is going on but I wonder one thing; Is it worth for upgrading to Kayfun? Is there much more difference between oddy and Kayfun?I ask this question because it is too hard to get these devices in my country as e-cigarettes are forbidden and we have too many problems at the customs office after we order our devices.Thank you for the information that your gonna give..
