So you're telling me that after the PMTA deadline next May (or whenever it actually ends up occurring), anything China Inc wants to sell you in terms of vape-stuff will still be "technically not illegal"?

Good to know! :w00t:

It may be "technically not illegal" in China, but is is technically illegal to import such things into the USA, and as a retail buyer, you are the "importer or record".
On their side it is not illegal. On ours that is a whole different can of worms.

Edit- I just noticed your Spoiler. That is exactly the predicament.

I guess the loophole would be if the package/contents are labeled "for cannabis use only" .
The subterfuge would fail if the package contained nicotine, of course, but many of the products "we" use could conceivably be used exclusively for cannabis and it's derivatives.
I hate to point this out, but cannabis is still a Schedule 1 drug and thus totally illegal on the federal level. So as far as the FedGov is concerned, that ruse would be doomed to fail if they were sufficiently motivated to enforce their laws and regulations.

Black Market refers to an illegal market or trade. Black Market can be run from within a legit market, does not have to be a sketchy dealer in a dark alley. About a month or 2 ago in NY state (I believe but could be wrong), a large e-cig counterfeit market was busted. Or, essentially a black market. These were sold out of legit retailers, c-stores and gas stations.

Link to what I was referring to.

I remember them. Great group and album. Now I have to hunt it down to listen to again. I must have it somewhere.

If they had only gone with Logic "compatible" instead they would have been so better off. But yeah, that's a counterfeit product, no doubt sold through some legitimate venues. Still, less black market, rather a counterfeit fraudulent one, but that may well just be semantics.

Gray market is another can of worms.……
Things sold as authentic for a given market, say the US but not containing a US warranty for example. Unauthorized goods. Not fakes or clones, just items sold by sellers who pass them off as "authorized" items for a given market place.

Black market items can be genuine too, but usually they are not. Say a truck load of stolen cabbage patch toys.

Valid point, but still a black market non the less. On the topic of vaping (as per the OP), I thought it was a good example to demonstrate that black market deals are not necessarily conducted out of incriminating view. Ie: the stereotypical guy with a trench coat filled with stolen property trying to make a sale in a dark alley.

Gray market is another can of worms.……

A grey market is the sale of content that does not comply to the manufacture’s or brands approved distribution channels. The batteries we buy can be considered a grey market purchase. Not an illegal sale, but one that does not comply with the manufacture/brand.

Yup, agreed. Good thing we have X Filters. They sure do vape nicely. ;)
Haven't tried mine yet, but got them cleaned, dried, and prepped for building and wicking. I see that you have several tutorials, and I did apply some VG to the o rings that need it. Very impressed with the quality of machining of my filters. Some pretty tight tolerances.

I think you have to cross over railroad tracks to reach the black market. It's usually under the largest tree in the neighborhood and ran by guys sitting on empty milk crates.

OHH!!! Ive seen those guys selling watermelons and veggies :)

Honestly, until the government defines it for us via statute and penalty we will not really know.

I'm fairly sure the government is not happy about Chinese sites, and, based on like, buying medications overseas illegally it's a tough one. Thanks to Canada and the elderly it is NOT illegal to import a 3 month supply of medications but it is NOT super legal either. The main "enforcement" entails opening a fraction of such packages, and turning them back and sending you a warning letter saying "This is not illegal, but it's not legal either." It's like a very confusing letter, but like, I don't think they want to be locking up all the elderly.

For the most part, I did this with a medication called Stablon which the French did not bother to like, get FDA approval here, because, well, it's generic now so no one wants to do the studies. It actually works by DOWN regulating your serotonin NOT upregulating it, (which is weird) but it also does cool stuff to your glutamate pathways. I am convinced like, glutamate is where it is at for some people. Also, the ONLY real side effect of note is that It might improve your asthma a great deal. There was a minor push to get it marketed for asthma but it did not go anywhere.

It worked pretty well for a few years, for me. I have also imported it for family members. It's totally GREY and also INFURIATING as it is expensive..

Oh well, the beat goes on.

But my point is, it is the government that will define what is grey, black and dark, for us.
