Hi all,

Hoped I could pick your brains. I seem to be getting a black substance coming off my o rings on the AFS v2. I've been getting it for a while and I think it's probably due to the liquid coming in contact with the rings.

I thought it was probably the o rings getting old so I've just put a complete new set on but it's still happening. I also use vaseline on them after every clean.

Just wondered if anyone had a solution to this as I don't like the thought of this black goo coming into contact with the liquid I vape.

thanks, jet

I keep ejuice in my AVSv2 almost every day and have never had that issue once. What ejuice are you using? Have you rotated other ejuices? Are the rings coming in to contact with anything other than vasoline and ejuice? Those would be the things I would check if it were me. Something coming into contact with the orings is the cause; finding it is the challenge

The only thing that I can think of is the black that I get when I put vaseline on metal threads, as I screw and unscrew the top or bottoms it works into the metal almost like polish and it picks up the metal and mixes together and becomes black. Would this be a possibility jet? I have noticed this especially with my roughstack v2 which is aluminum. I would think that maybe a good cleanign more often would probably help, not only that, you may be using too much vaseline, from what I understand there is no need to glob the stuff on the orings, you just want a light coating to keep them lubed.

Thanks guys for the responses.

I normally do a complete strip down every two weeks and I only use a tiny amount of Vaseline as the stuff gets everywhere.
I have noticed the issue at both the top o ring, where the to cap is screwed onto the main body and at the bottom where the o ring seals in the atomiser.

I can only think that it's something to do with the e-liquid as I can see anything else coming into contact.
The liquid I always use is Ecopure Rich from Intellicig.

I suppose it could be the way I wash the unit, but I only use washing up liquid and water and I never polish those threads as the are near the e-liquid.

Regards, Jet
