I am re-posting a post I made yesterday in another thread, but decided to start a new thread in the hopes I can possibly get an answer and maybe some comments:) Link to other thread I posted in:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life/35563-try-next-time-you-refilling-cart.html

After trying many different methods to refill, I have found the plunger method to work the best for me and I would like to thank you gib for the valuable tip..:D

I received some blank cartomizers yesterday, but they do not have the o-ring that goes between the tip and the filler material. So I took the o-ring out of another cartomizer and used it. Does anyone know exactly what the o-ring is for? I am thinking it is to help keep the liquid in the filler material where it belongs in case one draws real hard.

I am using it with some Apple Cinnamon I got from Vermont Vapor to try. I ordered a sample pack from them just to try some other flavors...so far Steve's carts are the best so still hoping for his blanks. The blanks I have do not seem to provide as much vapor but is enough to satisfy. But I am disappointed they did not come with the o-ring and am going to let the vendor know. BTW, the blank took about 30 drops to fill...I think this is equal to about 1ml of liquid. I may have been able to put a bit more in it...still experimenting with these.

My understanding is that this washer/o-ring is exactly what you suggested and is in place to keep you from sucking up liquid. I would be curious to hear from others as well.

I agree. I am surprised that the blank carts did not have the o-rings. The ones that I have purchased did have the o-rings. I also am able to get 30-35 drops in a blank cartomizer.

Yeah they do hold a ton of liquid..lol. I did notify the vendor and they are going to contact their supplier in China. I will update after I do some more experimenting with these. Too bad cigeasy was out of them or I would have ordered from them.

I think that might be my fault...I placed an order the other day and noticed right after that they ran out. I have some extras on hand that I can sell you if you PM me. Before you take me up on the offer though, I have to be frank with you though, even though they are empties, I have had better luck refilling Steve's. These don't seem to wick as well or hold as much for some reason. At any rate, if you still want them, I will sell you part of my stash since I stocked up on their remaining supply. (Sorry had fallen in love with the VK and went a little nuts). Seriously, PM me and I will sell (at cost) some if you want em. Gotta look out for my fellow vapers.

I am just across the border from ya so they should get their quick!

ETA: between my experience and yours I hope Steve stocks some empties soon!

Thanks for the offer and the honesty. I too am finding refilling Steve's are better than the blanks I have. I don't know why...but the way you describe it is what I am experiencing...better wicking and longer runtime with Steve's. So I think I will wait for Steve to get blanks. I really do appreciate your offer....thanks again:) Maybe someone else would like to have them??

Would you share what you learned?

Are Steve's from a different factory?

Has anyone dissected samples of each and reported? with pics or video?

Thank you.

They may be from the same factory but I don't think all cartomizers are the same. I'm getting this from reading on this forum more than anything. I do know from tearing one down with a moto tool that this is an ingenious piece of work.

Understanding that Steve is prone to doing his own thing and trying to make his product stand above the rest, (which I feel he has done), I just don't want to risk (waste) money on anything else. Been there and done that.
