Blocking threads and posts from "New Posts"

What I really want to do is to be able to identify threads or forums that I have no interest in yet always show up in New Posts. Any way to block these? I get a bit cheesed off with seeing "hurrah" stuff from groups that I really don't want to engage with (because I'd get banned!).
Here's the kind of thing I mean (all made up):

Thread Titles:

Poopy Vapes Are Having A Competition!

I LOVE my new Bishop's Hat from Poopy Vapes!

How can I get more stuff from Poopy Vapes?

If I didn't buy from Poopy Vapes my life would be meaningless!

If you hover over your member name in the top bar, you will see a popup, and you will want to choose Personal Details. You will see People, Threads and Forums you Ignore as choices. It is very handy to help make the New Posts free of clutter. Good luck!

I am going to vote for Poopy Vapes in the next ECF poll, by the way.

I've been opening the thread as they come up and go to the top and click on ignore.

440- that's just to view the threads, not add them??

Like r77, I've mostly put all of poopy vapes threads on ignore.

Near the top of every thread and forum is a link that says "ignore thread" or "ignore forum". Select that and then it gives you an option of where you want to ignore it (i.e. new posts)
