I'm on this thread too. I've only lost a few. And that was because of my mistakes, like using an almost dry carto on a freshly charged V4L battery. I have also noticed that 50/50 juice on a brand new blank carto is not a good thing. I have since learned how not to burn them, I think, and it's all good. Actually I still have and use the ones I originally bought about 5 or 6 weeks ago. I also want to make sure to mention that all of those are the original cartos from before the changes. I have no experience with the newer ones yet.

This is not to say that others aren't having legitimate problems. Just that I really haven't had very many.

Quick question. Are you supposed to be able to see through the hole in the center? I cleaned all my cartos (finally used my pre-fills up) and now they seem like a tight pull.

I thought I used be able to see clearly through the carto, but I don't remember, because I've cleaned them all and have nothing to compare to anymore.

Can I clean through the center, or is it the atomizer that's in the way?

I started with 10 pre-filled cartos, and then bought another 15, all pre-filled. I've only used 12 of them total, and that's over a period of three weeks.

Not one carto has been bad out of the box. All have vaped fine and tasted fine.

The only issue I had was with relatively thick 50/50 juice from Vaperite and High Caliber from Altsmoke. Those do not wick well, and you get an instant burnt taste...but it tastes like burnt juice, nothing like plastic. I've never had any plastic taste, burnt or otherwise, from any of my cartos.

I killed two of them trying to get the 50/50 to work (before I knew better), cleaning them out too many times.

Right now I have 10 cartos on rotation, and a few of them have been filled at least 12-15 times each, and still vaping strong.

Like Newme, I'm not saying that others aren't having legitimate problems. And I have yet to take my cartomizers apart from the battery end to see what they look like inside after using them, but below is something I posted about a week ago on another thread about my experience with the MaxxFusion cartomizers.

I am another who has not had any burnt taste issues with the MaxxFusion cartomizers, even with the original blanks. And I use juice with various combinations of pg/vg, up to 40pg/60vg. I’m a bit baffled by the issue; since others have reported using high vg juice without problems it doesn't seem the vg issue is a consistent variable.

So, FWIW, here is what I do that has led to my good experience with the MF cartos. I’m not a “heavy hitter”; I take long, slow, light drags. I have only used them on MaxxFusion batteries, MF passthru, or the Trifecta. I do not use the condom fill method; I just take the rubber cap off the carto, leave the condom cover on the battery end, tilt the carto and drip juice into it until the filling doesn’t absorb the juice anymore. If the juice has pooled on the top of the filler, I absorb the excess with a Kleenex.

I don’t use the Taryn spin or blow through the carto to get any excess out. I don’t go by number of drops, because different dropper bottles deliver different size drops. I wait for at least 10 minutes after filling a cartomizer before I vape it. I always check the battery end of the carto for any juice and dab any off before I put it on the battery. I frequently top off my cartos (while off the battery of course), never letting them get close to dry.
