When I first started using electronic cigarettes about 10 months ago, the conventional wisdom was to blow out your atomizer through the threaded end instead of the cartridge end.

I have come to the conclusion that this was incorrect, and that it is far better to blow the atomizer out through the cartridge end. First of all, you don't get juice on your lips that way. And it seems to be so much easier and quicker. And I really think you clear out things much better too.

So does anyone have any thoughts on any of this?

Erm...people have been blowing attys from the cartridge end all along. It's near impossible to clear the liquid by blowing through the threaded ends.

I still see lots of posts with people saying to blow out from the threaded end.
I think I have only seen one post saying to blow them out from the cartridge end.

Maybe you're reading a different subforum than me.

I do both, but yes, I do get juice in my mouth when blowing from the threaded end
I also had the impression that you should blow from the tgreaded end, but dont know why

To be fair, I have all but given up on cleaning and blowing out my attys
Every time I mess with them they break, so now I dont do anything but blow out the initial priming liquid

Well, most posts I've read recommends blowing out from the cartridge end to clear flooded attys.

But common sense should tell you that when you see juice flooding onto your batteries via the atomizer's threaded end, you should blow them from the cartridge end to clear them. Instead of pushing the liquid back into the atomizer by blowing through the threaded ends.

I think it clears the liquid out from around the atty better blowing from the threaded end.
To eliminate getting juice on your lips, make certain you include the holes when you blow and not just the threaded part.
I take a little piece of paper towel and put over the cart end of the atty, blow, release towel, blow, release towel. It seems to create some air pressure inside atty and moves the juice out better.
I'm still on the same 510 attys I started with in Oct 2009.
Since there have been some on ECF that have said blow from the cart end, I have tried that and it feels like I am forcing the juice into and around the bridge/filament/bottom of the atty.

i blow mine out through the cart end, a little puff or two, with a tissue or paper towel to catch the expelled juice.

On manual batts only, I sometimes even leave the batt attached, unless it's really bad bad flooded. If I just need to give it a puff, I wrap the connection in tissue and then after I blow it out a little, I just wipe the connection clean.

Has worked great for me

Hmmmm this could be an interesting thread on whos blowing the right way, hahahah personally I have always gone through the threaded end and put my Atty's upside down overnight, and mine last a long time doing so this way, so im gonna keep doing it unless proven otherwise by someone very convincing to me...

Try blowing them out through the cartridge end.
Seriously, you'll be happy you did.

hey, while we're on the subject, has anyone blown them out, cleaned, dried, etc, and they are still just as clogged afterwards? is there a remedy for that, or is it so bad off at that point that you're just stuck? also, i've seen a lot of information on resurrecting atty's, but is that impossible once it's not heating up at all anymore? i'd assume they are pronounced dead then?

I do both actually - belt n braces approach lol - and I get juice out of both ends - the trick with the threaded end is to cover it completely with your mouth so your lips are like halfway up the atty. Makes sure its cool though - yes..I did that one day, silly silly me.

DC2, I too have started blowing through the cartridge end after originally being told to blow through the threaded end.

We just have to be careful about those two little holes on the sides... juice splatters all over the place if you forget about them! <voice of experience>.

When you blow out your atty the juice has got to go somewhere. Put a paper towel or some kind of absorbant material on the other end (preferably disposable) while you blow it out, if you don't already do this.

To answer a question above,,,,After, I do my atty workout...., and let sit overnight on-end with a paper towel....If it still doesn't heat up at all when using a manuel battery,,,then I basically, say good by and bury the atty out back with our old departed hamster....
Not worth the effort for me.....I buy attys for 7-8 dollars and if they last 10-14 days each,,,,I am happy...I have to remember how much I use to pay "every day" for analogs...That usually puts my mind right.....Enjoy...

Yeah if its not firing its probably dead - you could stick on a HV battery sometimes that shocks it back to life, but I usually just chuck em away. Most of mine last a decent amount of time (average 3 months) BUT - to my way of reckoning it out - it used to cost me around $25 a week for cigs; a pack of 3 attys costs $25 (without shipping, from cignot) - if they last longer than a week then Im ahead of the game. So that makes them cheap enough, compared to a carton of cigs, to throw away if they go wrong or stop working; lifes too short to spend hours over trying to fix a cheap piece of kit imo lol

I totally agree...thread end. You drip juice in and then suck it back up and onto the element. Why oh why would you want to push anymore of it towards the bottom of the ceramic cup and out towards your batt connection?!?!

I use hot water and let it trickle/flow from the thread end and then gently blow that, and a lot of juice too usually, out towards the cart end.

No juice in mouth....no juice in atty. Let it dry, prime it back up and vape away
