Hey all,

As most noob vapors, I've neglected the rest of my life for the week so I can learn all I can about this life-saving past time.

I've found some conflicting information regarding blowing out your atty when it's flooded... or any other reason you may need to blow it out (cleaning, etc.).

One thread will say "blow it out through the BATTERY END!!!"

Another says "blow it out through the NON-THREADED END!!!"

Are either of these correct, or does it not matter in the slightest. Does it depend on the atty model? I've done both, but mostly I blow through the battery end when cleaning an atty.

But the clarification is still needed;)

(btw, I'm dealing with all 510 attys)

Used to blow through the threaded end because everyone said to do that.
But I tried it the other way and it works better.

So now I blow through the cartridge end.

But they say that you can blow particles into the air holes and clog them.
Particles of what I'm not sure.

That hasn't happened to me yet, and I blow my atomizer out every day.
And even if it did, then I'd just blow through the threaded end once to unclog them.

At least that's the way I see it.
:D

I have done both, but I like blowing through the battery end so that the juice that comes out doesn't end up in the air holes and the hole in the battery contact. Another reason is that a 510 atty has three holes in the battery end that can end up with juice trapped in the holes even after you wipe it off. Blowing FROM the battery end clears any juice in those holes.

Just my preference.

thanks guys.

So generally speaking it doesn't matter, but one has to be careful not to damage atty's innards.

Also, while we're on the subject of atomizers... I find that my atty works best when "on the verge of being flooded". Basically, I know I'm gonna get good drags when I hear the gargling (at least at first, if the gargling is consistant through the whole draw I end up having to blow out the atty).

This seems to be in stark constrast to recommendations on this board.

Wet atty = happy atty. There's fine line though. Slight gurgling is good for me. I also blow through cart end only and have never had a problem.

There is a sweet spot in atty saturation affecting the amount of vapor production. Too much and you get low vapor. Too little and you get burnt taste. Somewhere in between is a feel that comes with experience.

Most flooded atomizers are caused by overfilling the cart. I usually blot mine on a paper towel after filling to reduce the juice at the top of the filler.

Check out the Blue Foam Dart mod (BFD) and the Pyramid Tea Bag mod (PTB) using the search function at the top of the page. One of these might be a solution for flooding and you just might find that your Ecig is better than you thought it could be. Both require a little experimentation in the amount of the filler you use for the viscosity of the juice you use.

I use canned air made for dusting with a shortened straw for better control. If I want to make myself dizzy, I'll imbibe mass quantities of alcoholic beverages.

I was actually going to ask about that and whether it was safe:D I used a can of compressed air to assist in my atty cleaning adventure last night (did the full cleaning on 3 of my attys... to get out some questionable flavors). I used the compressed air both to help blow out moisture and to cool down the atty during the dry burn process... and a hair dryer helped so I didn't have to wait the full 24 hr for it to dry;)

Which end to blow through depends on a number of factors.

What exactly is ailing the atty.
What are you trying to fix.
The phase of the moon.
Your annual income.
Your time zone in relation to atty's ailment.
Odd or even day of your mother's brother's cousin's best friend's employer's birthday.
Color of your dog (if a cat go by gender, all other pets determination by weight).

You can also put them in your oven at 150 degrees for 20 mins.

Obviously, but why? Is it intimidation? Or is there really something I am not aware of?
In my opinion, there is nothing stopping people other than a few "myths" that continue to live on.
Maybe by calling people's opinions "myths" we can start a REAL debate and settle this some day.
:)

Who knows, I might be wrong.
And if I am, I surely want to know about it.
