I'm new to this site and new to e-cigs.
Before I start, just gotta say I really, really wish I found this site before I put in my order for my Blu Starter Kit.
I found out about Blu from a buddy of mine at work that happened to see an ad on MySpace. Being curious and having absolutely no knowledge that anything like this was available on the market, I was really impressed with Blu's website and decided to place an order for their starter kit on June 30th.
The shipping delay was very inconvenient, but allowed me to enjoy real cigarettes until they arrived...on August 3rd.
Initial impression with the packaging and product was very good. I was just glad my order finally arrived.
The one thing that I noticed immediately after fully charging the batteries and the carrying pack, and putting the device together and taking my first puff was that the vapor consistency was...well inconsistent.
Then I noticed that I was getting liquid in my mouth but couldn't understand why, and after much testing and retesting, one of the batteries was faulty. The led would light up after the initial puff but after that nothing would happen.
Also, of the 25 cartridges that came with the starter kit (5 wrapped together for a total of 5 packages of 5) 10 of those were white when I ordered all black. Not really that big of an issue but definitely had my head shaking at their incompetence.
The 60-80 puffs per cartridge is a total joke. Granted I wasted a lot of cartridges with the dead battery, but it's the 14th of August and I'm totally out of cartridges.
So, I called customer service to find out about the battery replacement (which they said would take a week) and to see if I ordered more cartridges if I would get those in a timely manner or have to wait the 4-6 weeks. Needless to say it wasn't in a timely manner because I went ahead and initiated the 30 day money back guarantee.
I've been a smoker for 18 years with a half a pack a day habit. My brand of cigs is Newport Kings. I don't consider myself to be a heavy smoker but I do take my nicotine seriously!
My impression with Blu is definitely mixed. The heavy delays in shipping, when you do get your product it could be faulty, and their claims don't even come close to being true. However, during the 11 days I was using it, it definitely helped with the cig cravings and I totally see myself vaping instead of the traditional cigs.
Oh and the carrying case everybody raves about wasn't all the impressive to me. It is heavy, bulky, and whatever you have inside rattles, and for someone like me that don't like to carry anything in my pockets, you will not mistake the carrying case for a pack of cigs.
I think Blu has an awesome marketing team/plan, customer service was decent, they were always nice and helpful when I talked with them, they just can't do that much for you, but their business practices freaking blows.
I will say that the blu does work decently...when it works.
For a newbie like me, someone with no experience whatsoever with e-cigs, the Blu experience really sucked. Unfortunately for me, I didn't start my research until I couldn't get the damn Blu cigs to work for me, and since I found this forum and all the other people with issues with Blu, I really wish I found this forum first.
For all the people that got Blu and are having a good experience with it, maybe you guys should buy a Powerball ticket or something, cause your luck is way better than mine.
I order a 510 from InnoVapor yesterday and hoping my experience with that will be much better than Blu.
I really think I would have given Blu more of an opportunity to make things right but their shipping delay is beyond ridiculous.
