i see alot of people start off with a blu or a smoking everywhere but all i see are bad reviews of the products so im wondering what is the draw of these to people? i use a smoke relief at the moment which is probobly no better but i bought it because it was really cheap and wasnt sure if vaping was for me, but the smokingeverywhere is overpriced garbage( my g/f's parents own them and dont use them mainly because they dont work)and the blu gets nothing but bad reviews and is priced the same as an ego/riva so why do people keep buying these 2 products when such better equipment exists?

People like myself buy them because they have a very professional looking website that is at the top of the search. When you don't know any better, a complete package from a well engineered website is appealing. 100% of the time they are enough to make you want to vape and you end up somewhere like here, and realize you aren't getting what you could be.

Everyone should start with an 808, 501, or eGo type depending on their needs in my rookie opinion.

My first guess would be marketing. Ask people on the streets who haven't done the research on what would provide the best experience for the price and a majority of them would say Blu, simply because it's the most widely known name. If they still don't do the research and want to try one that's what they are going to buy because that's what they know and it does work for some people. They also have a catchy website with the packages all laid out and make it seem so easy and they look like more like a regular cig which appeals to alot of people.

I credit the name for peaking my interest due to a co-worker who bought them but I came home and did the research and figured out other options would be better for me personally and many others figure this out AFTER they've already bought Blu and then do the research, which brings the less than stellar reviews when they try something else and see what they were missing.

very true the websites of both companies look legit it seems like these people dump money into advertising and website instead of putting out a quality product and those smoking everywhere kiosks in the mall i was chatting with the guy because he stopped me trying to sell me one i let him talk and ramble on about how the batts last 10 hours on one charge and the carts are 200 cigs blah blah blah even tried telling me they are DR. aprooved(and that kinda angered me because the fda hasnt aprooved these so why would any dr) so i start talking to him about the price and his claims first i told him the price was insane,he says he is selling them at what they cost him($120.00) i laughed a bit and told him i could buy all the parts involved in what he was selling for a tiny fraction of the price so he tells me only smokingeverywhere sells e cigs i stopped him and pulled mine out told him its the same idea as what hes selling and it only costs me 40 bucks dudes jaw dropped then he was trying to sell me the kit he had for 40 bucks lol i politely declined and walked off i dont get these kiosk guys they know very little to nothing about the faulty product they sell

I'm not going to plug websites this time, but consider this. If you pay $85 for one with a warranty, is that better than $50 and having $35 left over for extra parts? Most websites warranty for atleast DOA which is all you really need, and IF your ONE atomizer dies do you really want to be left high and dry while you wait for a replacement under warranty?

The answer I think is visibility - ask anyone ont he street about ecigs and most wont know what they are - but those who DO know at least half of them will name SE (or 'that one from the radio commercials').
SE was the first I heard about or saw in real life - I didn't buy one (for over $150 Im going to be researching soemthing, if they'd been selling it at $50 i probably would've just bought one) but if I hadn't seen their 'infomercial' I wouldn't have known these existed.
Their product btw isn't bad - but it IS overpriced (and the carts are pretty awful lol) - they do themselves no favors telling people a cart is equal to apack of cigs either. Even someone who doesn't smoke is going to question that jsut by the size comparison alone.
The Blu looks neat - I can see why it would appeal to smokers because it looks like something they are familiar with. If they dont research they wont know the battery life is about the same as the much cheaper basic 510 (ie, not a long battery life).
They do at least offer a PCC with their kit - I rate the Blu above the SE because from all reports (at least on ECF) their customer service doesn't suck as badly.
Ive never been impressed with flashy websites - a website has nothing to do with how good a product is and sometimes it hides an inferior product. A good product doesn't need flashy graphics - it stands on its own.
I wish more smokers would get online and research - it would save them money and the false impression that all ecigs are created equal.

FWIW... Blucig isnt that bad, if you expect only what the hardware is capable of.
Is light vapor, light TH, small carts... But at $60 for a kit that includes 2 batts, 2 attys, 25 carts, and a PCC, its not a bad deal.

its a nice setup, but by no means a 510, or better yet LR atty on a 3.6V mod... The blu is, however, a nice setup... Complete, and slick..

Check out my goofy video review..

I agree on the Blu being good if you are expecting mini style performance. It's funny how many people I've talked to that either bought a SE or thought about it, and it turned them off of e-cigs. They are terrible because they will tell you anything to get you to buy it. They will tell you $200, then give you a "deal" at $140. I feel like printing up a bunch of pamphlets and dropping them at their booth stating the facts about e-cigs and their product.

By the way, the video posted about Blu cigs is kind of misleading. My buddy took one of the ones I bought and he has his putting out pretty serious vapor. Its right in line with the 510 we have, the problem is his batteries die quickly. Maybe its a problem with their quality control, one great atomizer out of 100. I still wouldn't recommend it over a 510/808/ego/etc but its not THAT bad.

Huh.. Interesting..

Thats me in the video (My vid.) and I *can* get tons of vapor if I drip some high VG juice on the atty, and puff like a freight train...

However I was showing the stock capabilities under "Normal use" so, yeah.. The vapor in the vid is *exactly* what I get from my blu cigs (both of them) taking normal puffs, using blus carts (and juice)

but YMMV :)

I think their cool packaging, the charging case is really slick looking and probably just the blue led on the end makes a differences for a lot of people who are new. It's the first one someone showed me. I didn't like the fact that you are very limited on flavor choices so I started with V4L instead. Planning to go Riva or Ego or some mod in the future.

If I had a booth like the SE near me I'd spend a few hours a day standing nearby with my Buzz puffing away, people would try theirs with the pissy vapor production then see the clouds of vapor coming from my Buzz at which point I'd hand them an ECF business card, the booth would get SFA business lol.

I wasn't knocking your video at all, if I came off that way it wasn't intended. My buddy swears up and down Blu is the greatest and he can get some pretty good vape off it. I still think its inconsistent at best and most of the times I tried I felt I had to take very long drags to get good results. Sorry if I came off like I was criticizing you, I think anyone that does videos for e-cigs is awesome (except for the actual blucig sponsored vids).
