Do you need anything besides juice to refill the prefilled ones?

Really ... please please please RETURN your Blu.
You have 30 days, I pushed mine right to the limit and got a full refund for the kit no problems.

For the 2-3 bucks it cost to mail it back you will be so much better off. They are a giant P.O.S. please return it.

You can get a 510 kit for like 40 bucks or better yet you can find eGo kits for 50 bucks. I just paid 49.95 for my second one.

If you are looking for simple that just plain works (like most blu purchasers are) get one of these and then start with pre-filled cartomizers. They are a cartridge with a fresh atomizer built into each one.
The ones at liquidXpress are great. 8-9 bucks for a box of 5, and they have about 8 times as much juice in them as the blu carts.
I get about 160 drags or so on them. When its done you can refill them, but usually I just pop on a new one.
It couldn't be more simple or satisfying.

Did I mention to try your best to please send the blu kit back ?? :)

Okay, I'm tired of all the blu bashing, and it's no surprise that it came up here too.

Let me clear some things up here. As far as I can tell, there is no difference between a BLU atty and a Volcano atty. The Blu works JUST FINE while dripping. In fact, oddly enough, I have had absolutely no problems dripping with my blu. I have, however, had problems with my Joye 510 automatic battery randomly activating itself and staying activated for longer periods of time than it should. This is while using carts only, as I have no drip tip for my 510 yet, but it's on the way. And I have noticed some juice collecting around the threads and near the hole.

If you don't know about the blu, then don't say anything about them. Say you don't know and answer whatever you can, and leave it at that. The blu works just fine while dripping. The 510 does not work just fine with auto batteries even with cartridges. The blu DOES NOT burn juice EVER. The 510 gives me burnt taste at least 25% of the time, regardless of whether the cart is empty or not. I'm really getting sick of all this "OMFG, SEND IT BACK, IT'S TERRIBLE!!" coming from people who only bothered to use it for a day or two, not giving the atty enough time to break in and not bothering to figure out how to get the most out of it.

Definitely don't use the pre-filled carts unless you actually like the juice in them. I personally think they suck. But they can be reused. a 306 drip tip will fit on a blu. I'd still say be careful. If you drip and don't get any vapor but hear a gurgling sound your atty is probably flooded. Take apart your blu, put the threaded end of the atty in your mouth and blow. Then wipe off the threads, reconnect, and continue vaping.

If you must use the carts, get some blue foam and use that for cart filler instead. And DEFINITELY get some juice from somewhere else unless you really like blu's prefilled carts.

You're certainly welcome to send the blu back if you REALLY don't want to take the time to figure it out, and you can get essentially the same thing out of a 510 kit minus 20 carts and a charging pack for $25.00 from tasty vapor. They also have batteries for $4.50. I can't tell you what to do with your money. I think blu is overpriced for sure, but it's a nice little PV that does its job once you figure out how to use it properly. But apparently most people can't be bothered to do that.

I get what you are saying. When i started vaping, it was with a blu. i wanted to improve my blu experience and the only thing people would tell me was to return it. I hated that. I was stubborn to give up on blu. By the time I figured out blu wasn't for me... I missed the 30 day return. so now I have a blu kit collecting dust. I did move on to a 510 and it was a great improvement to the blu. It was much more consistent and gave better hits. Then I got tired of short battery life, so i got some cheap ego knockoffs. They were a great improvement to the 510 batts. Then I learned about lr attys. I don't know how anyone vapes without a lr atty. It really satisfies me. Now I won't use anything except for a big batt mod. I do use regular atties but lr attys are my fav, especially the lr 901.

Thanks for the tips. I tend to swap the atomizers when I switch batteries. Maybe I should just stick to one and let it break in.

Yup, keep using the same one. They'll eventually break in if you swap them but they'll take far longer. I have a Volcano, which is similar to the Blu, and I've been using the same atty for a month.

What I did was contact a supplier about my Blu. I expected them to say "return it and get the 510 we sell" but, they didn't. Instead, he recommended a couple packs of cartomizers for the 510 and some juices (and also gave me a coupon code). That was all. So, I ordered them. They were out of the LR version so I will order those when they get back in stock to compare.

All in all, I think it is a quick and painless way for me to get closer to what I am looking for. I still want to get the 306 attys and some good drip tips but that will be when I understand more about those. As well, I need something I can use on-the-go so the cartos will still be something that I will want even with the drip-tips.

I think I get all of this better now and it was good to have someone to answer my questions. Thank you for all of the help everyone.

that was actually my first transition to the 510. I found with the short batt life with the blu I needed to get a PT (passthrough) to use when both batts were dead. So i got a 510 PT to use with the blu attys. then I got some 510 cartos to use on the PT and blu batts. Actually seemed to get better battery life with the cartos.
I can see already that you are like most of us and will have multiple PV's. ;)

I don't think you'll get much battery life at all with a lr carto on a blu batt. I should try that. I'm gonna charge up my blu batts now and destroy them with a lr 306 atty. I'll probably get like 15 mins from the batt.

You don't want to prefill all your drip tips and atties, at least not the way I have mine set up. I removed the bridge/wick from my blu atties because I accidentally removed this little piece of string that I'm guessing helps draw the liquid from the bridge directly to the coil. I thought it was cartridge filler that somehow got stuck in the wrong place. After that, it would only produce vapor for a hit or two, then I had to wait a while to take another one, or I had to place a drop in the middle of the bridge to get it to make vapor. Anyway, in this setup, if I leave juice in the atty for long enough, it will just work its way thru the atty and out the hole at the bottom. If it's left connected to the battery, juice will get into the battery switch. If it's not, juice will end up on whatever surface it's sitting on at the time. I would imagine this will be the case whether you have a bridge on your atty or not. The bridge might slow down the process of juice ending up on the other side, but I'm sure it will still happen eventually.

I was already looking for drip tips for the blu and someone suggested 306 drip tips from nhaler.com. Apparently now volcano sells drip tips for the L88B(blu/volcano) too. I think they're cheaper than nhaler, but at nhaler, you can choose between lots of different colors and patterns, if that matters to you. I got two camouflage drip tips for my blu and my 510. That's right, a 306 drip tip will fit a Blu atomizer. It's not quite as snug as the blu cartridges though. Also, the drip tip seems to be even less snug on a volcano atomizer, for whatever reason. I guess they're just slightly smaller. I'm not trying to discourage you from getting a 306 atomizer, just saying you don't need another atty to drip. You can drip with the one you have now, just be careful not to let large amounts of juice still in the atty when you set it down.

I can't tell you anything about cartomizers as I haven't used them. But I can tell you that you do not need filler in a drip tip. It basically acts as a funnel/mouthpiece, and that's it. It doesn't contain the juice, it just gives you a way to drip directly on your atomizer without removing the mouthpiece every time you want to add liquid.

My complaints about people bashing the blu aren't even so much because it's hard to find advice for it. That's definitely one reason, but also because it's simply not deserved. And the problem just increases exponentially. Newbies get the blu and don't understand it fully, so they ask for help, and they're all told "omg, blu sucks, send it back." then they do, and they have a negative opinion of something they've barely used, which they will then pass on to the next newbie that buys a blu and mentions it on the forum. And it's so bad that whenever someone says anything positive about it, they're accused of working for the company. You can definitely get more bang for your buck though. For that reason alone, I wish I'd learned about the 510 first. But at the same time, I'm sort of glad I didn't because I think the blu produces a better flavor most of the time.

To anyone who gets a blu or is thinking about getting one and wants advice/info from someone who actually used the damn thing beyond a few minutes/hours/days but can't seem to find what you need, feel free to send me a PM or instant message via AIM. I'm no expert, but I'll gladly try to help you however I can. I know it can be a biatch with all these people drinking Blu Haterade around here.

Okay, I'm tired of all the blu bashing, and it's no surprise that it came up here too.

I thank them for giving me my start. And some of the components are fine. The BIG PROBLEM is they market to beginners as an easy foolproof system. While we all know their is no such thing in the PV world, there are much much better choices. Their system has one major flaw IMO ... Those dinky ... carts with the foil top. If you follow the manufacturers directions and pop the cart on and give it a little twist you will hose your atty within 3 carts guaranteed.

So now its no longer a simple system as advertised. Now you have to go to youtube and find out that you have to pop the cart up and poke through the foil with something while some of the .000003 ml of the juice the POS cartridge holds bubbles out and get all over you .....

Even with removing the foil you will burn your first two attys dry because they claim a cart = 15 cigs or some bull crap like that. So you the gullible consumer cant believe that your cart is empty when you have only taken 20 hits.

I got mine back in time for a refund, and that was with the time it took to send 4 more attys because my first two went to crap in 3 days.

Yes some or all of the problems were my fault. My fault for believing their marketing hype.
Just pop the cartridge on an twist - BULL CRAP!
Just puff until your cartridge no longer produces vapor - BULL CRAP, BY THEN YOUR ATTY IS TOAST !

Get a 510 with pre-filled cartomizers ... thats the system that should be marketed to beginners as "NEARLY" foolproof.
Plus the pre-filled caros hold way more juice than the blu carts. At least 6-8 times as much. for 1.70 a piece thats the way to go.

So I guess its not all the hardware from blu that I am bashing... just the foiled carts. And the lies they spew on their fancy website.

You are right. I will probably end up with multiple PV's but, I don't see the issue with that. I ordered the Blu because it had a nice package and I stand by that. It really does have a nice kit. It has a "cig pack" that fits a spare atty, a spare battery, 5 carts and a fully assembled e-cig. Not to mention that it doubles as a charger. If it gave better vapor and had better carts, it would be the one to get. I find that the cart has a bit of a harsh flavor, almost like the filler is getting burned. Also, the carts don't last nearly as advertised. With a different atty and cart, I have hope that it will work out better. I got the cartos because dripping just makes sense as the solution that I am looking for.

My order was with eCigSupply and I could tell that the guy I was talking to understood my frustration. He also seemed honest and didn't bash the Blu pack at all. He understood why I got it and although he agrees that the 510 is one of the best out, he made it seem like the Blu was just fine and we could make it better with just a few changes.

If it wasn't for everyones help, I wouldn't have been able to have that conversation since I finally have a good enough understanding to ask my questions and explain what I am after.

Thank you for testing the lr 306 atty and the battery life. It was already a concern of mine.

Personally I find the 510 to be totally overrated. I still can't get the filling down and it was my 1st e-cig. Is it bad? No, it's just not for me.

I got a KR808 in the mail today and I'm finding it blows away my 510 experience. I've been using the same pre-filled cartomizer for 5 hours now with no loss in vapor or taste. So far it's looking like the easiest to use e-cig I've come across. I'd say cartomizers are the way to go, no matter what pv you choose.

Thank you for the advice. I didn't order the 306 yet because I was looking at drip-tips and don't know which ones to get yet. It is funny that you mentioned the Volcano tips since those were at the top of my list. They just look awesome. Do they fit on the lr 510 atty better?

I will agree that when I asked for advice and the "return it now" responses came, I felt bad. I really like the Blu kit for the look and design. It fits in my pocket just like a regular pack of smokes would and everything is in there. Too bad the atty and carts aren't as good as they could be. Plus, the battery does drain fast but not so fast that you don't already have a fully charged backup for when the other one dies.

I guess I asked for some of that since I did call the thread "Blu Troubles" but, being so new to vaping, how was I supposed to know. One of the things I see is that Blu can't fill the orders that they have. I ordered this kit almost a month ago and forgot I even ordered it. After waiting so long for it to arrive, my expectations were even greater. I was thinking, "If it is that hard for them to keep in stock, it must be awesome!". Then, after having cherry juices and wasted carts everywhere, my disappointment was greater. Still, I came to this forum thinking that it must be something that I was doing since, well... they can't even keep them in stock. Then the replies come with "return it" and "it sucks". That just made me feel even worse since I am already out $60 for the kit and can't easily just get another one. Another kit would be about $50 and I would still need about $30 worth of carts (Blu sends you 25 carts with the kit).

I will admit, even though everyone said to return it, rarely was it just a bash session. Most of the return requests came with good information and advice. Many weren't trashing Blu, they were saying that Blu isn't the best and the 510 was. Also, they were right since I can see the 510 being in my possession once I can afford it. The Blu will most likely be resold to a friend or kept as a spare.

All-in-all, there weren't many pointless posts in this thread and for that, I thank everyone.

I am glad you said that since I just got 10 cartos. I didn't get them pre-filled though. The juice was cheap enough. Actually, I couldn't believe how cheap the carto/juice combo was.

I haven't really seen anything about the KR808. Is it compatible with the 510 parts?

Welcome to the forum. I think anything that will give you a jump start on a healthier lifestyle is a good choice.
The trend here seems to be that most order a PV and end up trying new things anyway. Don't get discouraged with the feedback. I think the advice I have recieved here has been full of good intentions. There are a lot of really smart people who share their experiences so others can benefit from their initial choices.
Good luck on your journey:)

Don't get me wrong here. I know not all the posts in THIS thread were completely negative or lacking information, but if you look around the forums some more you'll notice that there is a lot of that. Regardless, even if there is information included, the simple fact that most who tell you the blu sucks haven't had it long enough to really make that kind of judgement call and it just spreads ignorance makes it bad anyway.

Yeah, the company's not so great, that I know. It would be nice if you could pick a customized kit and just pick and choose what colors you want things to be. Then they should also actually tell you what's out of stock and when so you don't order things they don't even have. That way, you can still get your kit without waiting for an entire white kit. You could substitute and get black batteries and still have your white pack or whatever. The company does sort of suck, but that doesn't mean the unit does.

No, the volcano drip tip will not fit on a 510. For that, you would need a 510 drip tip, which you can also get from nhaler.com. Also, you can get a 510 drip tip from volcanoecigs.com under the "Magma accessories" section. A Magma from volcano is just a(OVERPRICED) 510 that's been branded with Volcano's chosen name for it.

Well, first of all, I went thru a lot more than 3 carts with the same atty and never "hosed" it as a result. I'm guessing that was a bit of an exaggeration, and I totally agree with you about how Blu lies about the product and that it's not quite as they advertise it on the website... But that makes blu the company bad, not the product. That's my point. Bash the COMPANY all you want for the things they actually do, but I don't appreciate everyone ....ting on the hardware like they seem to enjoy to do around here. It's good that this forum is here to inform and help set newbies straight as far as how simple and easy the blu actually is, things to look out for, things to remember to do/not do, etc. But telling them to send it back based on stupid .... you did because you followed the company's directions doesn't solve anything. And in all seriousness, I get more mileage from a blu cart than I do from a 510 cart in terms of number of puffs. And the blu just tastes better. I'm finding myself using the blu more than the 510 because of that. It might also help though if I had a 510 drip tip right now.

the way for you to get the most out of the blu is to refill your carts with decent juice and blue foam or to drip. In my opinion, dripping is much better. The trouble is, I don't think most people just starting off with vaping(which is most likely blu's biggest customer base) want to deal with refilling and dripping. They want it to be just like a cigarette, which is how it's advertised but is also impossible. NO pv will be just like a cigarette.

I hate the company myself and won't buy from them anymore. The only exception to this is today I bought a wall and USB charger for a friend. My girlfriend got a black pack(she had to have that color and they were out of stock when I got her kit) and then gave her white pack, along with 2 batteries, an atomizer, and all our carts to two of her friends(the friends are married to each other) to try them out. They actually like it quite a bit but have no way to recharge batteries now that the pack died. So today I ordered them the chargers so they can continue to use them and stay away from cancer sticks. This is the last time I'll get anything from blu because I just don't like the way the company operates. I want make it clear that I have never had a single shipping issue with them though.

That I don't know but if you're using the 510 with cartomizers it's pretty much the same.

I just refilled my cartomizer, it took literally less than 10 seconds. I used this method-

It's easy as pie.

I've got no problem with the product but personally I think their shipping is .... I've been waiting over a week for atomizers, IMO that's inexcusable especially when dealing with stuff that's keeping people away from cigs.I've gotten packages from California and Hawaii in 3,4 days.

I think the biggest problem with Blu is that they just don't update their product. Similar products like Volcano, Revolver, Modern Vapor, etc are constantly improving and updating their products. Blu just kinda sits there with no new flavors, no new atty design, nothing. It's pretty common that people buy all their accessories elsewhere.

Thank you for the welcome. I was a little discouraged and frustrated. I think it is why I just decided to pick up the phone and ask one of the resellers. I usually don't take that route but I am glad I did.

As soon as I found out about volcano, I started getting accessories there myself. I never had a problem with shipping. I had to send back a defective blu pack and two defective batteries. I got my replacements no questions asked in exactly a week from the day I took them to the post office both times. When actually ordering something, I got my order from them within a week. Unless they actually wait around to ship your order, the shipping time isn't their fault at all. Once it leaves their hands it's up to the US postal service to get you your package.

Yeah, waiting for atomizers isn't good either, but it's not their fault yours broke when they did, or that you didn't prepare by buying extra ones in case the ones you already had did go bad, so that shipping thing is irrelevant, even if they are screwing around with your package. You have a right to be upset if they are, but not for any other reason in this case.

Anyway, my beef with the company comes from the lies about battery life/charge time and cart life. Also, there's no reason their kit should cost $60. And by the way, my brother had to wait about a week for his magma kit from volcano(he started with magma, I told him to because I didn't know about joye 510 at the time, or much about anything other than blu, and I knew he wouldn't be satisfied with blu because he smokes at least a pack a day. Also, I hadn't yet tried dripping), only to discover that they sent him a Volcano atomizer. Technically he could have used it and been fine(neither of us realized it at the time), but they still made a mistake. He had to wait about another week for the right atomizer to be sent to him, and they made him send the volcano one back. I don't think they reimbursed him for the postage to send it back. In my opinion, that's bad service. They should send the magma atomizer via the fastest method possible for screwing up and not sending him what he ordered to minimize any extra waiting. They should let him keep the atomizer they did send or at least reimburse him for postage to send the volcano atomizer back because it was NOT his fault that it was sent out. And while volcano doesn't lie like blu does, at least not that I'm aware, they are still guilty of selling overpriced goods. $80 for a magma kit. You get a PCC which is nice, but only one atty, which i think is more important than a PCC anyway. For half that, I got my 510 kit, and Tasty Vapor has that for $25 and batteries for $4.50. He could have saved 30 bucks and gotten something BETTER because a magma PCC won't fit manual batteries.

Anyway, I'm not trying to bash volcano, just pointing out that they're not perfect either. They're not as bad as blu since they don't lie, and they DO offer bulk discounts which makes up for being overpriced, but only by a little bit. Overall, I'd rather buy from Volcano for sure.

LOL, blu won't upgrade anything, they're spending too much on being advertising whores to have any money left for R&D. Not that they'd need it anyway, since they don't actually make any components of the product they sell. Actually, they probably don't upgrade anything because the older versions of components are cheaper, and they want as much profit as possible.

You know, it's a real shame there's no generic L88B that doesn't cost a lot more than it needs to that's also sold in the US. A generic L88b starter kit should cost about $30 at the most considering a 510 kit seems to average about $40 or $50.
