So, before finding this forum, I had already ordered my Blu starter kit. I went with Blu because it is a very attractive kit.

Once it came, I charged both batteries full. Once I inserted the Cherry cart onto the atomizer, I took my first puff. I knew to puff very gently. The amount of vapor is terrible. I have tried 3 cherry and one java cart so far and they are all terrible. Trying to adjust them just makes the juice leak out (My hands are now Cherry flavored). I have tried about every mod I can find in these forums and never do I come close to the amount of vapor that I see in any of the videos.

Is there some tricks to using the Blu kit that I don't know about? Should I get new carts from Volcano and see if they work better? Are there different parts I need to order to get a better experience?

I know most people are against Blu and yes, the obvious answer is to get another kit (I have my eye on the 510). The issue is that I already purchased the Blu kit and don't have the funds to dump on another kit this week so I am trying to make the best of what I have.

If someone can give me some help with the Blu, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. I am reading through those forums and although the information is great, I can't understand half of what people are talking about.

I understand that Volcano and 510 parts will fit on my Blu (helping cut back on cost) but I have no idea which ones to get. There are several 510 and Volcano parts, tips, liquids, carts and cartos (what is a carto?). This is confusing.

I guess I need to order another atomizer, that is understood, but there are several to choose from. Also, which carts to get.. or should I drip... what is dripping? ACK!

If you can't return your blu, try the volcano atty, I've heard they are very good. Not sure if blu carts work with them though. Do not get the magma atty as they are 510 attys and will look funny on your l88b. You can also try a 306 atty. I used this on my blu with great results. You will need to get 306 carts as well.

First off, I'm not sure if the Blu comes with atomizers or with cartomizers...but that's what you need to figure out first. At the end of the day, you MAY need to break down and just get a 501 starter kit. I started with a Cloud9 and that's what I did. Ironically, I have a Blu coming in the mail because my Mom who is a non-smoker wants one to try for fun, so I got it for her...and I wanted to see what it's like. If it comes today...I may be able to help you more. I'm no expert, I'm sure maybe others can advise you better, but I've learned a couple of things, lol. The first thing you really should do is go to the stickys in the new members forums and watch Mistress Nomads videos for vaping for broke people. I watched them and learned a lot VERY quickly. Regardless if you're going to stay with the Blu or move to another system...the first thing you are going to order TODAY is juice. That's the stuff that's leaking all over you, lol. (sorry) You are going to need it if you are serious about quitting...because the stuff those companies and others like them offer is junk. You can find juice suppliers and reviews here...and don't be afraid to try interesting, non-tobacco flavors that sound yummy to you because you are going to like them if you stick with this. HTH a little! A plain cart is one you fill yourself...a cartomizer is has a built-in disposable atomizer....but you CAN reuse them if you refill them yourself. I would call Blu today and tell them you have two fauly atomizers (just in case...but I doubt that's it) and they'll probably send you two new ones in the mail right away just to try to keep you as a customer.

Is there still time to return your Blu?? I started with them a year ago and was very unhappy but waited to long to return them. I had to quit smoking analogs because my broken leg was not healing, even after 4 months. I did use my BluCigs and kinda just "toughed it out" for a few weeks and my bone did heal. I went back to analogs shortly thereafter though. About 3 weeks ago, I ordered the deluxe starter kits for the Joye 510's from Cignot. I shelled out the extra $3.00 for priority mail and recieved them in just 2 days- they always ship out the same day if you order before noon. I am extemely happy with them and believe this was the best decision I've made. I was able to completely quit the analogs once I found just the right flavors of e-juice for me, which also didn't take long.
I hope this helps and good luck to you!!

Thank you. A direct link and everything! It looks like this is better then the atomizer (atty?) on the 510, so I would prefer to go with this one!

A volcano atty works just fine with the Blu. I bought a couple shortly after I bought the Blu kit and they do work much better than the originals. It was still not what I was expecting however, and I quickly bought a 510. That did the trick. I kept defending my purchase of the Blu kit (mostly to my wife who kept asking "how much money are you going to spend on this stuff?!") but I haven't touched the Blu in a couple of weeks.

Thank you. As it turns out, some of their carts are just terrible. I tried the Classic Tobacco and that one works. Go figure. The cherry and java ones (especially the java) are terrible. I did just find out that a carto is a cartridge with a built in atomizer. The blue comes with 2 atomizers and 25 carts (most junk).

Okay. I will get some juice. Cartomizer or empty cart better?

Sadly, I got the Blu for the look and style of the kit. My batteries seem last fine. I just can't afford to get another kit, juice, attys, etc. while waiting for the refund. I can after my surgery (back surgery in November). It is one of the reasons I am doing this.

If I can get my Blu's to work fine, that would be great. I do understand the return though.

Do you drip or use the prefilled carts?

Really ... please please please RETURN your Blu.
You have 30 days, I pushed mine right to the limit and got a full refund for the kit no problems.

For the 2-3 bucks it cost to mail it back you will be so much better off. They are a giant P.O.S. please return it.

You can get a 510 kit for like 40 bucks or better yet you can find eGo kits for 50 bucks. I just paid 49.95 for my second one.

If you are looking for simple that just plain works (like most blu purchasers are) get one of these and then start with pre-filled cartomizers. They are a cartridge with a fresh atomizer built into each one.
The ones at liquidXpress are great. 8-9 bucks for a box of 5, and they have about 8 times as much juice in them as the blu carts.
I get about 160 drags or so on them. When its done you can refill them, but usually I just pop on a new one.
It couldn't be more simple or satisfying.

Did I mention to try your best to please send the blu kit back ?? :)

Okay, I'm tired of all the blu bashing, and it's no surprise that it came up here too.

Let me clear some things up here. As far as I can tell, there is no difference between a BLU atty and a Volcano atty. The Blu works JUST FINE while dripping. In fact, oddly enough, I have had absolutely no problems dripping with my blu. I have, however, had problems with my Joye 510 automatic battery randomly activating itself and staying activated for longer periods of time than it should. This is while using carts only, as I have no drip tip for my 510 yet, but it's on the way. And I have noticed some juice collecting around the threads and near the hole.

If you don't know about the blu, then don't say anything about them. Say you don't know and answer whatever you can, and leave it at that. The blu works just fine while dripping. The 510 does not work just fine with auto batteries even with cartridges. The blu DOES NOT burn juice EVER. The 510 gives me burnt taste at least 25% of the time, regardless of whether the cart is empty or not. I'm really getting sick of all this "OMFG, SEND IT BACK, IT'S TERRIBLE!!" coming from people who only bothered to use it for a day or two, not giving the atty enough time to break in and not bothering to figure out how to get the most out of it.

Definitely don't use the pre-filled carts unless you actually like the juice in them. I personally think they suck. But they can be reused. a 306 drip tip will fit on a blu. I'd still say be careful. If you drip and don't get any vapor but hear a gurgling sound your atty is probably flooded. Take apart your blu, put the threaded end of the atty in your mouth and blow. Then wipe off the threads, reconnect, and continue vaping.

If you must use the carts, get some blue foam and use that for cart filler instead. And DEFINITELY get some juice from somewhere else unless you really like blu's prefilled carts.

You're certainly welcome to send the blu back if you REALLY don't want to take the time to figure it out, and you can get essentially the same thing out of a 510 kit minus 20 carts and a charging pack for $25.00 from tasty vapor. They also have batteries for $4.50. I can't tell you what to do with your money. I think blu is overpriced for sure, but it's a nice little PV that does its job once you figure out how to use it properly. But apparently most people can't be bothered to do that.

A little trick is after you insert the battery into the cartridge, remove the atty and make sure there is no aluminum foil stuck to it, that will inhibit vapor production.

With my Volcano prefilleds I poke a paperclip up through the hole in the mouth piece to push up the inner cup and remove as much foil as I can from the inner cup. I then use the paperclip to push the cup back down into the cartridge. Foil blockage is the biggest culprit for meh vapor production. It's not the most convienent but it makes a world of difference.

From my experience it also takes these atomizers a few days to break in. I can get clouds of vapor off a Blu cartridge with a broken in atomizer.

I would also add don't be worried about getting massive clouds of vapor, I think most of those videos are abnormal and most users don't get anything near that amount. IMO they do everyone a disservice.

I started out with Blu, and it works fine, but I do think it is geared towards a lighter smoker than I was/am. That is why I got the Ejoye 510, because I needed more nictine and vapor wise, not that the Blu is bad at all, and it did give me my start in hopefully quitting entirely. I still have mine and plan on using it for "dipping" when I get that advanced.

Plus I found for me anyway, that it does take a while to learn how to get a draw on an e cigarette once you first start, even an experienced inhaler like me.

I am going to try and fill some of her empty Blu pre-filled cartridges with some of the juice I bought last week for my daughter who said she might try it again when I let her try some this weekend on my 510. Let you know how that works out, not sure if she will be home tonight for me to experiment. I don't see why it wouldn't work though.

The Blu pre-filled cartridge flavors really aren't very good when compared to adding your own juice, but funny thing this weekend, when I tried an unused Blu cherry one when we were comparison vaping and juice tasting on the Blu, I could actually taste the cherry for the first time. Maybe my taste buds are coming back after cutting down or maybe the flavor in cartridges get stonger if you keep them for a couple of weeks.

I like the 306 Atomizer that I was sent a link to (Joye 306 Atomize) but what tips do you use with that? I have seen some metal tips but do I need some type of filler with those or just juice? (Volcano Fine Electronic Cigarette Atomizer) will something like this work with the 306?

Can I prefill all my daily drip tips and take them on the go or is this something that I would have to try and do in the car? I did notice that there are some cartos (510 BOGE SOFT CAP Blank Cartomizers). Would these be better for dripping?

I have tried the cherry from Blu but find that they produce low vapor and don't last as long. I found the Classic Tobacco actually lasts the best and produced the best vapor.

Thanks for the tips. I tend to swap the atomizers when I switch batteries. Maybe I should just stick to one and let it break in.
