I just ordered BluCigs and still waiting on my order..

Anyway.. i smoke real cigs now and wanting to make a full switch over to E cigs and completely stop smoking. I want to save money and I don't want to make a expensive hobby out of this.

With buying BluCigs it will cost me about $2 per pack as each cartridge is suppose to be like 1 pack of smokes.. (new model carts)

I'm totally new to this and would like to know if this is my cheapest option?

I like the small size of the BluCigs, the black color is a must. carry case/charger/ I like the fact that each cartridge come with a atomizer and for 5 cartridges it cost $12 with free shipping or $10 for each if I buy 5 or more 5packs.

Is there a better option out there for me or is this a pretty good deal?

I hope you like your blu and you might but just be prepared you'll most likely be moving on to better models. There are other cig sized models that are a little better. The m401s/402s are decent, 510 models are pretty close to a cig (all of these can be found in black btw). The best deal I know of is here good realiable starter cig, easy to find compatible replacement parts, and a reputable company.

Mind you I'm not knocking Blu as a company I just see a lot of complaints about their stuff and their cartidges aren't easy to refill as I understand it. Refilling is less expensive for sure. Some people do like Blu though. I almost got a Blu then I did alot of reading and got a magma. If I had done more reading I would've got the one I recommended to you.

I do have an m402 I lucked out and got it as a gift and I love it. Most people don't like the cigs sized ones but I only put my 402 down to charge the battery because I don't have a spare yet.

Thanks for the info.
The link you posted just shows the website, no specific model. I saw a couple nice looking kits, but not sure which kit I would need? I think I would need 2 batteries in black with black cartridges.
I need to buy extra atomizers or? just buy a bottle of liquid and I'm good ot go or do I need other things to go with it? I'm also not sure the lifespan of the atomizers and batteries as to when I may need to purchase new ones?

Just trying to calculate my best options so I know what to expect and about how much things are going ot cost me and what I need to buy so I will be good ot go for a month or 2.
I been trying to do a bunch of reading and it is just a tornado of information that isn't really leading to one specific direction on what I'm looking for or needing.. :( giving me a headache..

510 PCC Kit I think might be my best option from what I found so far?

That's a pretty decent starter kit yes and madvapes also has a good rep and their prices are great. I actually just ordered some parts for my 510 from them. I would reccomen getting a couple attys and maybe a 3rd battery or if you're stationary alot a passthrough and an ac/usb adapter.

Another option is to get one extra atty and some 510 cartomizers (cartomizers are a cartidge and atty in one they don't last as long as atomizers but they are also a little cheaper and generally come in packs of 5). Atomizers are generally listed as lasting about a month but can last longer (I've seen as much a 5months from other people) with good maintenance. You will also get the ocassional dud that will go bad early or even be bad right out of the box.

Blu stuff is okay but, it's overpriced. Remember that I told you that you'd get over that looks like a cigarette thing in less than a week when you get sick of changing batteries. Personally, I think the 808s make a better cigarette sized kit than a 510. At least get a manual battery.

The link he put up did have manual batts in the kit I took a look. You may be right about the 808s I'm not that gung ho on my 510 I like the 402 better and I've heard the 808s are better than the 401/402s but it was a gift and I've had no issues so for now...

Here's the other kit I was looking at Black 808-D Kit
I really like the look of the 808, but doesn't seem to be as much stuff for them as the 510?
But I'm really liking the starter kit price at $30

I'm thinking the 510 may be better since it seems to be very popular.

So pretty much with the 510 model kits 510 Kits

I just need to look for 2 or 3 batteries. whichever charger I think I will need. bottle of liquid. 2 or 3 atomizers or should I just go all cartomizers? and what Ohm should I be looking at getting? I think i seen different ohm ratings?
What's a pass through?

Is this pretty much all I need to be looking at to keep me going for a couple months?

Simplejack, When I started, I was totally confused. I didn't understand what I would need to replace and when. So, I bought two inexpensive 510 starter kits to have all the replacement parts. Mine came with chargers. I also bought a couple of bottles of juice. Be sure to check that all the parts work when you get them, I got two bad atomizers, which they quickly replaced.
Good luck to you and welcome to a great place. I've found ecf to be filled with friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable people!! :vapor:

Haven't had to replace anything yet.

The 808 is what you want if you want two pieces with the atomizer in the cartridge. The 510 comes in 3 pieces with the atomizer separate from the cartridge. 808's are extremely popular, and there are tons of choices where you can buy replacement carts and batteries. If you order today from Vapor4Life-Because it's your life - E-Cigarettes/Smoking Alternativesyou can get 28% off everything for what is considered one of the best places to buy the 808. They have a gigantic selection. Use promo code SpringCleaning to get the discount.

Well the kit you put the link up for already came with two batteries. I like desertlover's recommendation...except I'd get some kind of sample pack or several sample sized bottles of juice. That way you're bound to get at least one you can tolerate until you find your flavor. I've been lucky my 1st order I found I could vape all the flavors I got and found one all day vape but not everyone is that lucky their 1st juice order.

510 PCC KIT

Now I'm getting confused... I want this kit because having a carry box and a charger is a good idea.

Anyway.. With this kit I have no idea what size of extra battery I can put in this box charger.. I look for extra batteries and they don't say the size of them.
Looking at atomizers, I see different volt and ohm ratings.. which is what and what is the difference? Do I need different batteries for different volts or ohms or?
Cartimizers, looks like they are a 1 piece design, that would make the 510 a 2 piece?

what will go together and what will not go together and what can and can not fit in the charger box.. ??
The website seems to be lacking alot of details on the description of most all the items they have listed and I'm having to rely on hoping someone gave some details in the reviews..

Sorry for all the question.. once i get my kit I will be able to learn from all this and see what I'm actually working with and then be able to use my own imagination :p

I have a headache now and I'm going to sleep... I also just took a muscle relaxer and it's making me that much more irritated :)

2 510 Sealed manual batteries with blue LED
2 510 2.5 ohm atomizers
Just get the same as what's in your kit if you don't just decide to get two kits. 510 batteries here's the battery page most of the batteries on the page are 510. This atomizer will work. I don't know enough about the ohms to recommend anything different than what comes with your kit. I can tell you that you can't use Low Resistance atomizers with the slim 510 batteries. I think as long as you stay away from those any 510 atomizer on there will work. To play it safe stick with the 2.5 unless someone else on here tells you different.

I think the best starter kit all around if you don't know what you want is an eGo from anybody
The Joye eGo Black Tank Kit
or if your stuck on having something that mimics a cigarette try cignot kits https://www.cignot.com/category_s/23.htm
you will find the eGo and 510's with a charger plus extras.
I was lucky to get an eGo kit right off the bat, because I had met an experienced user who told me to stay away from the cig type tiny devices. They only last an hour or so and 1 cart does not equal a pack of smokes! You'll find that out quick enough guaranteed! The ego's have a 650 mah {may last 6 hours} battery as opposed to the Blu type devices at 180 mah {1 1/2 hours} which is
means you will be changing and charging your battery a few times a day every hour and a half or so. But most of us learn through trial and error and whichever one you choose Happy Vaping!

I started with the Blu because it seemed like the easiest option and everything else was too confusing to me. Even after a few weeks, much of the e-cigarette models and options are still confusing to me. Anyway, each Blu cartomizer is NOT equivalent to a pack of cigarettes. I tried to make a Blu cartomizer last for at least 24 hours and was going crazy. I don't know, but my guess would be that one of those cartomizers is about 5-7 analogs. Meanwhile, I had charged those little batteries at least 3 or 4 times. I expressed my dissatisfaction here on the forums and eventually chose a model more suited to me. I wish I had come here first.

the pcc kit looks good. just need 1 extra battery and atty just in case to start. definitely stick with standard 2.5 or so atty till you get used to it before attempting an lr. I would also get a pck of cartos to try out. I like the e2 also called clearomizers, they are more reusable friendly since they don't use filler that can hold previous flavors or cause burnt taste.

I haven't tried them but have some on the way but you may eventually try the tank cartridges, ordered mine from breezesmokes. if you find that you like the 510 you can also get a 510 box mod from madvapes under custom mods or if the cig look isn't an issue start with one since it is cheaper. they take 3.7 v sealed batteries which last for hrs. 2 sets of batteries would probably get most people through an entire day or more. heres a link for a box kit all you would need is 2-4 more batteries Assembled 510 Box Mod Kit.

whatever you choose expect to spend a mo or 2 experimenting with diff carts, cartos and juice as well as fillers for carts and a lot of lost hrs on youtube.

I had the blu for my first mo but haven't had the need to go to anything else since I got a 510. the big downside of the blu was how small the carts were and the batteries die very quickly

KR808D-1 and 510 are the two most popular and most supported slim cigs

KR808D-1 w/ standard battery has 60% more battery charge life than 510, and a somewhat hotter hit, and a good selection of prefilled cartomizers (like at Vapor4Life.com) as well as blanks. if you get manual batteries you can also put a DSE901 atty on it and drip. Manual KR8s still have a hole in the end but not as easy to kill as an auto battery. KR8 PCC leaves much to be desired. It's a flat pack that holds 1 battery and 2 cartos.

510 has the most stuff available for it. However you cannot use any of the 'LR" low resistance stuff on a slim 510. Those can be used on a super-long-charge fat battery 510 model like Ego or Riva. Still, in normal resistance there are so many kinds of cartos and new 510-T tank attys and 510-T tanks too. Most stuff and the most standard upgrade path. What is not available for 510 is many prefilled cartomizers. But the manual is totally sealed metal on the end so very safe from being damaged by juice leaks, and it has a much nicer PCC available.

I vape both 510 and KR808D-1. BTW Blu is somewhat 510 compatible for cartos but do NOT use Blu's charger or PCC on 510 or vice versa. I believe their batteries are opposite electrical polarity and their charging devices will melt each other. However cartomizers and attys don't care about polarity.

The nice 510 PCC only charges standard auto and manual 510 batteries, not the mega xl batteries. I got the same PCC at NoSmokeVA. If you want a PCC for 510 mega xl batteries then you have to get the 1/2 as roomy sharp-edged Joye 510 Mega PCC and Vaporkings.com sells one with an adapter to charge a short 510 battery in it.

I found the non-charging battery hole of the NoSMokeVA.com PCC will also hold a standard KR808D-1 battery threaded-end-up in the non-charging hole (you cannot charge KR8 batteries in the PCC). The one at NoSmokeVA.com will also charge RN4081 batteries.

And I strongly recommend manual batteries.

FYI here is a Blu section of ECF

Ditto only I have the 100 mah Ego batts. Last me better than a day. Still like my 510 for short trips out to dinner. I also recommend cig-not.com. Excellent customer service. THANKS VICKY

No wonder the OP is confused! People try to help, but mis information still remains mis information!!!

510's are most certainly available as a two piece: pre-filled cartomizer + 510 battery, available from a lot of vendors. (Sherid, you are an ultra member? )

100 mAh Ego? (Rob-o)

The problem with all this is that I have seen people start out with e cigs and rush back in frustration to the store to buy analogs and barely taking the time stopping to dump their e cigs in the trash. The Internet is confusing enough as it is when looking up e cigs since the lies that abound are legend with tons of misdirection and falsehoods. I just passed the one year mark analog free after +3 decades of 1.5 pack/day Red; if anything, I want to see other people succeed.

Only a dimwit would take up ecigs as a hobby; we are here to quit smoking so there is some sense of urgency to all this. In fact, the decisions we take here can be truly life saving.

I do not care if people call me a tyrant but if you are going to open your mouth to venture an opinion, at least get your facts straight. Ecigs are complicated enough without asking new users to put up with your incompetence and stupidity.

If I sound upset, I am. I just had a ex girlfriend diagnosed with lung cancer. She tried quitting with e cigs 3 months before I did, and gave up in disgust. We never got that close, but it was still someone I knew. Her failure certainly preyed on my mind when my daughter put a gun to my head and asked me to quit smoking as her MBA gift. I was thinking that my only hope was to lock myself up in a clinic to break a lifelong habit.

I certainly have made my fair share of expensive mistakes, but I kept at it. It has succeeded for me.

So if you are going to open your mouth, gets your facts straight. We are not here to proliferate ourselves, but to share information and learn.:glare:

Price was my concern. I ordered a Riva 510 SE from Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510 Cost 35 dollars with 20% off coupon. (The coupon is just a code you enter into the website when you order you can do a google search for the current code) This does not include the flavored juice you vape.

Many people go the DIY (do it yourself) route and buy the stuff in bulk to mix their own nicotine juice. This can be a great way to save money over the cartridges. I'm doing this because otherwise I could not afford e-cigs. ( I used to spend only 5 dollars a week for roll your own tobacco) Buying all the stuff you need in bulk to do this can seem expensive at first but it's cheaper in the long run. We have a DIY forum here: DIY e-liquid
