So this weekend I went out and picked up some BF and did my first conversion. The install was easy as the videos showed. I cut a piece slightly wider than the cart, about 1 inch long (maybe less) and folded it like a C with the open portion sticking up. I hope this is correct.

When initially filling the cart (510) it took about 7-8 drops, placed the BF plug and topped with another 3 or so before it was full. Initial vape was night and day better than the stock poly. After day two, I found that I still have to top off frequently with 2-3 drops when the cart feels "dry" Now on day 3, just the topped off juice has flavor, the rest is just harsh th with almost no flavor. To get flavor back I have to top off again. This isn't much different than the stock poly in the 510 carts, so far.

I've seen reports of people saying the BF will vape and have full flavor until it is completely dry. I can't help but think this is not completely dry if 2-3 drops top it off, where's the 7-8 drops I started with? Maybe I'm doing something wrong or I have way too much BF and it's not wicking enough. Any thoughts?

I find that blue foam breaks down after a day or two, try a smaller piece and when you get the plug right it should only get harsh when you need to refill it. It's weird, I fill an entire 510 cart, stick a small piece of foam at the top and it runs dry before I know it. But when I pull out the foam, all the juice has been used. I do the same thing with poly.

For me, I find that I need to remove the plug completely with tweezers and drop liquid in before replacing the plug, then top if off with a few more drops.

Alternatively you could try the blue foam dart mod. I have had incredible results. Basically you just roll the blue foam in your cart into a small straw so that only the top of the cartridge has blue foam plugging it. Storm and MadScientist suggested something similar, but the straw helps by holding the foam up so that it doesn't get pushed down too far to wick.
