In this post I've put a couple of links in for USB wall chargers from Amazon UK if you get the USB passthrough:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...213-fried-my-work-computer-2.html#post1163416

Better to be safe than sorry and go off them rather than your computer. That first link is really cheap now - less than £2.00 delivered. Works fine.

I have some cartos and an adapter on order so I can try out the cartos - I'm kinda trying pretty much everything at the moment until I find what I'm really happy with then I'll stick to that. I really love my mega 510 with mega carts - that plus a nice fruity flavour is so much nicer than tobacco ever was. I meant to wean off over a few weeks but I now only vape, and I still have over 200 grams of baccy left - surprised myself, I did.

Metstoo, the two places I've checked out US shipping costs at have been more expensive than China, so even though the US has a lot to offer I probably won't be buying much anything from there. I do wish we had the same amount of choice in the UK as you do in the US - you just seem to have a lot more vendors there and a lot more of everything at good prices.

There are some good prices from China but I'm not real confident in the quality. I may be influenced by propaganda in that but my main problem with it is the inconvenience of ordering there. Shipping time and all that.

America does have quite a bewildering amount of choices and that's good and bad. I think it leaves us all too open to marketing influences rather than value but that's where consumer responsibility comes into play. Need to do the research! :)

I found some really good prices here so far. Gotta admit, I'm not a very good bargain shopper! I will pay a bit more for better quality or service. Luckily, most of the vendors here are relatively new private businesses and hungry for customers so the service is pretty darn good and the quality has been okay. Who knows what will happen to all that if and when we get regulated?

i do agree with the quality issue. luckily, i checked the TW website before i ordered. thats where i got my 510 from. and they have 5 attys for £22.99, minus a 7.5% discount, which actually works out cheaper than getting them in from china. i just hope they still use joye

i ordered a kensington portable power pack for the usb passthrough, i don't like to be tied to the computer and was a bit worried the passthrough would fry my laptop intaview. so thanks for that tip. the mains usb adaptors i have don't seem to deliver enough mA to work with the passthrough, same with the car ones. most annoying

That's a really good price for those attys and you do feel a lot better when they're being delivered from within the UK. I just noticed the mega attys are only £5.00 each in multi-packs (no warranty though - shame). Thanks for drawing my attention to them - I completely missed that.

I love the megas because you can get bigger carts on them and there's less time spent refilling. The mega batteries in mult-packs also work out not much different from China - I'll be ordering some more things from TW today :) My mind was fully on juice prices when I was ordering from China - although I did order a few attys and batts. Wish I'd looked more carefully.

Metstoo, after saying that about ordering from the US, I've been on the Tasty Vapour site today and they have a great price on 0 nic doublers that lose no flavour in the cut. I've been cutting a lot of my liquid and you do lose some flavour. Would you believe, they've stopped international shipping. Drat, drat, and double drat - I desperately want tons of their doublers.

I'm dreaming of the perfect inexpensive e-liquid (in the perfect e-cig, of course).

actually, i meant to say it has too many mA to work with the passthrough. i think it needs 500mA (correct me if i am wrong) and my adapter is rated 1000 mA

I've been trying to ascertain the correct info regarding pasthroughs. I think whether or not it has a battery makes a big difference. If it has a battery all the charge will do is charge the battery - so it's not too critical as to the mA. If it is direct suply to the atty then the amperage/voltage is more crucial. I still haven't fully clarified what is actually optimum and I'm still seeking more info on this. These are just my vague reckonings at the moment. If you find any good info on this I'd be interested to read it.

well the fact that it works on my laptop which has a 500mA usb port and not on a mains adaptor which has a 1000mA output gives me a hint about mine, and it is directly supply, not a battery. I have ordered one of the adaptors you suggested, the white one for the mains for 1.85. hopefully that will do the trick. thanks for the link!

I think all the hardware is made in China and a lot of the juice too. I had a great 1st experience with Heaven Gifts. It got to me in 5 days and the order was correct. Also, I had to communicate with them via email because I needed to ammend my order and that went perfectly.

My knowledge of power supply demands is a bit too sketchy at the moment. I wouldn't like to comment it :)

I've been looking for a direct supply passthrough but they're out of stock the only place I can find them. May I ask where did you get yours? Do possibly have a link?

That little USB from Amazon is an amazing price, isn't it? I've had my first one for about six months and it's been great. This second one powers my Janty Stick v3 just fine, but the Janty has a battery.

Yeah, I've read that others have been pleased with HG. I'm not putting them down at all and I'm sure they're a decent outfit. It's just a personal preference. I ordered there twice and, though the products were okay, it took a month each for both orders. That and the added inconvenience that I have to sign for the package (I'm never home when it comes and have to make a trip to the post office.) just doesn't make me a big fan. Maybe if I have a large bulk order to make for atties or batteries or something in the future I'd go through them for the savings.

Other then some type of mailing relay service, we may just have to start making our own. :)

I'm considering a rather large order of juice (& basic hardware?) here in the near future to stock up for lean times. (I may lose my job in Oct.) Right now I'm pondering just how to go about it and what to get that makes the most sense.

That sounds like a good idea to investigate. Do you reckon I could do a decent job of those "doublers" using decadent vapours plus PG/VG? I had a try at LorAnn Menthol but parts of it sort of crystalized after a couple of days, plus it tasted awful - I probably got something wrong and need to re-do. Decadent Vapours is a lot cheaper (at TW) and I could make the quantities I need for a decent price.

Sorry to hear about your job - hope that's gets sorted for the good. I'm sure you have the knowledge now to know roughly what you'll be stocking up on and from where. I guess it's just "use by" dates that have to be kept in mind when ordering large quantities of juice. I must start thinking about those before I go too crazy in my ordering.

I'm now dreaming of finding the perfect flavouring to make the perfect e-juice to go in the perfect e-cig.
